Chapter 2141: Border City (Wave Nation)

Outside Vast Land

The Raven aircraft was flying continuously toward our destination. Inside the aircraft, the two of us were having this conversation.

Talia wanted my help to save her father. But I wasn’t sure how serious his injuries were. Her family had already given him their healing resources, yet he was still not healed.

"What’s your decision?" Talia asked.

Hearing that, I frowned. I didn’t want to give her false hope. So far, she hasn’t annoyed me. She was a nice person.

"I don’t want to say anything before seeing the extent of the injuries myself," I replied.

"I believe you now," Talia replied.

Now she had decided to trust him. If the masked man were to give his word, she would have found it hard to believe. But he had given a realistic answer now.

So her trust grew. She didn’t speak any further after that, enjoying looking at the passing scenery through the window.

On the other hand, I was thinking about my next plan. The Zero Puppet in its red smoke form was next to me. I had still not brought myself to ask about the Black Mist’s secret land.

If I brought up the topic of the Black Mist’s secret land, she would definitely guess it. I didn’t want her to know about the location yet.

Several days passed by.

The Raven aircraft crossed several important places, including beautiful landscapes and terrain. After a long time, I had enjoyed such a beautiful view.

Not only that, but I had also enjoyed the company of Talia. Both of us had long conversations. She had tried to get information from me, but she failed.

On the other hand, I had gathered information about the surrounding countries. Now I had the full information about the countries closest to the sea.

It was early morning. The Raven aircraft was still flying smoothly. I checked the map and understood that we had arrived at our destination.

The outlines of tall building structures appeared in view.

Talia saw the buildings as well. Her face showed relief more than excitement. During the market city auction, she had wondered whether she would return alive or not.

But somehow she made it back home. She then glanced sideways at the masked man. She knew that it was mostly because of him that she was able to return.

She also hoped that the Elder Guardian and the other followers would return as well.

The Raven aircraft drew closer to the city. It was the border city of the Wave Nation.

"Stop the aircraft here. It will attract people’s eyes. If it draws attention from unwanted people, it will cause a headache," Talia said to me.

Hearing that, I stopped the aircraft in mid-air. Then I turned off the stealth and opened the cockpit.

Talia exited the aircraft. Next, I shut the cockpit. I opened the cockpit on my side, turned off the switch, and exited the aircraft with the Zero Puppet.

Next, I put the Raven aircraft inside the system space.

Then I joined Talia to head toward the city gate checkpoint. I had thought there wouldn’t be any big city walls here.

But I was wrong; the border city indeed had border walls, not typical city walls encircling the city. We landed on the ground and started walking up to the gate.

There were five guards outside the gate, which stood over 50 feet high. My gaze swept over them, and I noticed that they were Level-8 Wizards.

Talia had already decided to take the masked man home.

"What was your name again? Frank, is it?" Talia asked.

"Yes," I replied.

Talia nodded. We arrived in front of the gate. The guards woke up from their sleepiness.

"Who is it?" one of the five guards asked.

The other guards collected their thoughts. Then they saw the female wizard and immediately recognized her.

"Supreme Wizard Talia!"

They exclaimed in surprise. They hadn’t expected her to come back so soon, having heard that she was outside the country.

Then their gazes turned toward the masked man. They wondered who this person was, but all five of them felt a sense of extreme crisis.

The sense of crisis was greater this time. They understood that the masked man was another Supreme Wizard.

"This person is my guest. I’m bringing him to my family. So give him a guest pass," Talia said to the guard.

Hearing that, the guards came back to reality. They had to follow the process, so they first opened the gate to allow us through.

Talia brought me to the guard office inside. One of the guards came with us. He went inside and began the process for the temporary guest pass.

He inquired about a few details, including name and address, but I gave him only my name. The guard hesitated.

"You really don’t need the information of a Supreme Wizard. He will leave the city in a few days," Talia said.

Hearing that, the guard had no other choice, since Talia was from one of the wizard families. He then issued the temporary guest pass to me.

Next, we left the place. She brought me to the main stop where the cab services passed by. She hailed one of the cabs, and we hopped inside.

We sat down in the back seat near the window. Talia started talking to the driver and told him the destination.

The driver recognized Supreme Wizard Talia. He greeted her and was ready to depart.

Swoosh!

The cab started heading toward Talia’s family estate. I watched the passing scenery through the window. The city was less developed.

It was similar to the cities located outside the Vast Land. There were signs of powerful wizards and a large population, yet the city was not very developed.

Talia was expecting her father to be cured this time. Yet she wondered whether the other elders would allow the masked man to check on her father.

She knew that the masked man was her only option. He could find ways to cure her father, even though she still didn’t know what his true goal was.
