Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 2142: Ironvale Family

Chapter 2142: Ironvale Family

Border City (Wave Nation)

Ironvale Family

The cab reached the compound gates of the Ironvale Wizard Family. When the cab came to a halt, we exited, and Talia paid the fare to the driver.

The cab then drove away. My gaze fell on the iron-capped compound walls. I was about to look away from the iron pillar when I spotted something else on it.

It looked like magic runes had been left on the iron pillar. I used the system’s probe function on it.

[Ding! Magic inscriptions detected on the iron-capped pillars.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. My mouth curved into an arc.

"What are you looking at?" Talia asked.

"It’s nothing," I said to her.

She then led me to the main gate of her house. The zero smoke followed right beside me, but no one could sense or see the red smoke.

There were family guards at the gate. They immediately recognized her and welcomed her. The guards also saw me, but since she was bringing me inside the family estate, they didn’t ask any questions.

Her family estate was huge. There was a massive mansion ahead of us. If I used the system, I could easily get the information, but I didn’t want to do that.

I wanted to explore slowly. There was no need to get the information right away. Besides, the zero puppet was here with me. I was going to instruct him later.

The guards at the gate quickly informed the higher-ups. Inside the mansion, the butler and other servants spread the news.

It was a huge family, so the members staying inside the mansion got the news first. Meanwhile, we covered the 200-meter walk to reach the entrance of the mansion.

Before Talia could open the door, someone from inside pushed it open. The person was an old man dressed in a suit. He was their family butler.

"Young Miss!" the butler greeted her.

He was surprised to see her. Everyone knew that the journey to the market city was a month-long trip. The distance could not be covered so quickly by convoy vehicles unless they chose to travel by themselves.

He didn’t see any followers behind her, except for the masked man at her side. The butler was a Level-9 Wizard. For a second, he thought the masked man was just another follower.

Yet, when he tried to probe his strength, he struck an iron plate. The butler broke out into a cold sweat. He realized that the masked man was a Supreme Wizard as well.

Talia saw what the butler had just tried to do.

"Elder, don’t be rude. He is my guest," Talia said with slight anger.

"I offer my sincere apologies," the butler said. He truly regretted it, having no idea of the masked man’s background. He hoped he hadn’t caused any trouble.

"It’s okay," I replied in a flat tone.

The butler nodded before leading them inside the mansion. Talia sighed in relief. She had been worried that Frank might take offense.

He was her only hope. Even though she had bought the final auction item, she didn’t know why she believed Frank could cure her father.

They were greeted by a wide, spacious hall. Soon, they arrived at a large sitting area furnished with long sofas, tables, and chairs. The layout showed that it was meant for small family gatherings.

"Elder, take my guest Frank to the guest room first. He must be tired from the long journey," Talia said to the butler.

The old man nodded and turned toward me.

"Wizard Frank, I’ll go see my father first. Then I’ll meet you in the evening. If you need anything, you can use the device in the room. The elder will show up," Talia said to me.

"Okay," I replied.

I followed behind the butler. At the same time, Talia went to see her father and mother, taking the stairs to the fourth floor.

On the way, she came across several family members. She simply nodded to them before rushing toward her parents’ room.

The family members didn’t disturb her; they knew she was going to meet the family head.

Creak!

Talia opened the door and entered the room. She saw her father on the bed, talking to her mother. Both of them appeared to be in their fifties, but their real age was even older.

"Talia," a brown-haired, middle-aged man called out.

His name was Roland Ironvale, and his wife’s name was Florence. She was a Supreme Wizard, and he was a Magic Lord, though he was currently injured.

Roland found it difficult to speak and could only manage a few minutes at a time. Upon seeing that his daughter had returned safely, he let out a sigh of relief.

Florence saw her daughter as well. Her aging face lit up with joy. Seeing that Talia had returned unscathed, she sighed in relief too.

Both parents knew the danger of leaving the Wave Nation. Their country and the neighboring nations had conflicts with each other from time to time.

When their daughter had decided to leave the country for the auction, they had been worried sick that enemies might attack her along the way.

Only after seeing her face now were they finally at ease. They even forgot about the auction news.

Talia went over and hugged her parents. When she saw the sickly appearance of her father, her heart ached.

She didn’t know whether the Grade-11 healing item would work or not.

"Father, I won the final auction item. It’s a Grade-11 magic resource." After saying that, she took out the storage box.

Her parents’ gazes fell on the box. They were shocked. All they had wanted was for their daughter to return safely; they hadn’t expected her to actually win the auction item as well.

Meanwhile,

The butler brought me to a wide, spacious guest room. The room was even better than a luxury hotel suite, with several other rooms connected inside.

"Mister Wizard, if you need anything, you can use the device to call me," the butler said.

Hearing that, my gaze fell on the device next to the sofa.
