Prison Island

The zero puppet in red smoke form was staying in one place. It wasn’t going anywhere. It was following the order as it was.

On the other hand, the place was quiet without any trespassers. The deafening silence was masking the horror behind the invisible barrier.

The last time someone left the place, it was the old Forbidden Wizard.

No other wizards had come to the place since then. It showed how isolated the place was without the patrolling wizards.

In the early morning,

I was walking back and forth in the room. It had been a few hours since the old man left. I noticed no one had come or left through the barrier.

I was expecting a Magic Lord to come to the place. As long as the visitor was a Magic Lord, the zero puppet would easily subdue him.

Shortly afterwards, there was a reaction from the barrier. The zero puppet in red smoke form became alerted. It felt that someone from inside was going to come out.

Inside the control room, I noticed the reaction of the zero puppet. I asked the system to probe. The system results said that the barrier got triggered.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes. I hoped it wasn’t that Forbidden Wizard. I was still not sure whether the zero puppet in red smoke form could be seen through by a Forbidden Wizard.

So, I was ready to cast a magic spell. My gaze fell on the control mirror. As the seconds passed, my expression hardened.

I was ready to appear outside at any moment to attack the Forbidden Wizard.

Outside

An invisible barrier triggered and reacted to the key, which was the black scroll. A new door opened in the barrier. A slightly obese, middle-aged man walked out of the door.

He was carefree and came alone. After crossing the barrier, the door disappeared. But the middle-aged man carried the black scroll in his hand.

He was about to put away the black scroll when he was hit by something behind his head. The middle-aged man lost his balance. He was a Magic Lord himself.

He hadn’t sensed the presence of other wizards here.

Swoosh!

I appeared outside right then. I grabbed the middle-aged man and the zero puppet and appeared inside the system space.

The slightly obese, middle-aged man was a little dazed, but he didn’t lose consciousness. Inside the blue grid space, I snatched the black scroll from the hands of the middle-aged man.

Next, I appeared inside Gregor Mansion. The zero puppet in red smoke form was hovering before the middle-aged man.

The slightly obese, middle-aged man was stunned. He cleared his head. He recalled seeing someone appear before him.

The person had snatched the black scroll before disappearing from the place.

"What kind of place is this?" he asked himself.

He looked around the place and realised that the environment was unfamiliar. It was the blue grid space. The middle-aged man could only see the blue grid space.

For a second, he was left there speechless. He wondered whether he was trapped inside some space crack or ruin. The middle-aged man’s face changed drastically.

Despite being a Magic Lord, he was scared right now.

But he didn’t know he was not the only one here. The zero puppet in red smoke form was there.

Inside the mansion, I summoned the members. It didn’t take long for everyone to gather.

"I have caught one of the patrolling wizards. He had the black scroll with him." After saying that, I took the black scroll out and showed it to them.

Then everyone saw the black scroll in my hand. They couldn’t believe it; Master had done it so quickly.

"Next, I’m going to take you guys inside later. Right now, I want Lady Caitlin to interrogate the person. I want intel. The rest of you should wait for me here," I said to them.

Hearing that, everyone agreed. They had all wanted to go outside earlier. Now that their Master had agreed, they were all happy.

Next, I brought Lady Caitlin into the system space. Upon arrival, Lady Caitlin noticed the slightly obese, middle-aged man.

"Who are you?" the middle-aged man asked.

He saw that the old lady was a Magic Lord and the masked man was a Supreme Wizard.

The middle-aged man was ready to attack. He was about to cast a magic spell, but he felt a sense of crisis from behind.

The hair on his body stood up. He was sure that there was no one else behind him. The middle-aged man turned around, but he saw no one there.

"Can you handle it?" I asked her.

"You didn’t injure him?" Caitlin asked.

Hearing that, I shook my head. But in order not to make things difficult, I cast a magic spell.

"Gravity Spikes!"

A stream of gray energy was released from my hand. In a flash, the gray energy struck the body of the middle-aged man.

Boom!

The middle-aged man immediately felt eight times the gravitational pressure on his body. The attack was so sudden.

He was caught off guard. The pressure struck hard. His flesh, skin, bones, and internal organs felt the terrifying pressure.

Pfff!

Despite being a Magic Lord, the sudden attack caused wounds. The slightly obese, middle-aged man coughed up blood.

The blood stained the blue-colored floor.

"He is injured now," I said to Caitlin.

"Good. I can handle it now," Lady Caitlin replied.

Next, I nodded to her. I brought the zero puppet outside with me. I immediately used the system to scan the surroundings.

The system results showed that no threats were detected so far. Next, I brought the black scroll to the barrier. The zero puppet in red smoke form followed me to the barrier.

I poured mana into the black scroll. The black scroll was activated. Then I felt a reaction from the barrier. My gaze then fell on the zero puppet.

I didn’t know whether the barrier could detect it. A door appeared in the barrier. I walked through the barrier with the red smoke.

The barrier didn’t detect the red smoke this time. Both of us made it to the other side. Then I saw small brick buildings everywhere.

They were just simple two-storey buildings. Most of the buildings were run down. From their appearance, the buildings showed that they were old. They were extremely old.

I couldn’t help but wonder whether the buildings belonged to the era of the old wizard organisation.

I used the system to probe.

[Ding! Multiple wizards detected in the rooms. But the host is shielded by the system. Host can approach the buildings.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. Next, I rushed towards the building nearest to me. The red smoke followed from behind.

I reached the place in the blink of an eye. The red smoke appeared next to me. The building behind me held the presence of wizards.

I didn’t know whether there were any Forbidden Wizards among them.

I used the system to detect their strength. The next second, the result appeared. They were Magic Lords.

I immediately instructed the zero puppet to infiltrate the room to gather information. The red smoke disappeared from the spot and went inside the room.

The zero puppet appeared in front of the wizards inside. They were chatting and laughing. They were also revealing information while talking.

"I heard a loud banging from the underground prison. It must be one of the Forbidden Wizards casting a magic spell," an old man said.

Hearing that, the others agreed.

"I don’t know whether the prison cells can withstand that magical power. I heard an elder-level powerhouse from the higher-ups reinforced the prison cells," an old lady said.

She was a Magic Lord as well. They were a group of old people. There were five people inside: two old men and three old women.

They didn’t know that the red smoke was nearby, recording their conversation.

"I heard there is someone from the magic city. He killed a few Forbidden Wizards and injured an elder-level powerhouse," another female elder said.

Gasp!

Hearing that, the other four old wizards sucked in a breath of cold air.

"Watch your words," the first old woman scolded her.

The first old man said, "Do you want to die?"

"No one is allowed to talk about him. That person is imprisoned in the deepest part of the underground. Only elder-level powerhouses are allowed to visit him."

"Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards are banned from going to the deeper parts of the cells. The elders are worried that person might influence others," he said to them.

Hearing that, the female wizard understood the reason. She wiped the beads of cold sweat from her forehead. She was glad that she was discussing it only among friends.

If those words were to reach the ears of others, then she might have to face the consequences. The red smoke recorded everything.

It identified that an important person was imprisoned in the deeper part of the underground cells.
