Chapter 2174: Time for Interrogation
Chapter 2174: Time for Interrogation
Forbidden Island
Time passed.
Seeing that the Forbidden Wizard might lose consciousness, I went to bring Lady Caitlin and old man Rock into the system space. Both of them were excited.
They didn’t expect me to capture a core member of the Covenant.
When we appeared in front of the Forbidden Wizard, both Lady Caitlin and old man Rock saw his bloodied state. They immediately turned toward me, and I smiled in response.
"He knows about the organization. Try to collect the information without triggering the restrictions," I said to Lady Caitlin.
"Old man Rock, you are going to support her. If he tries to make a move, don’t hesitate to hit him," I added.
Lady Caitlin nodded. She then summoned her golden book, which manifested before her. Its bright light stunned old man Rock.
Old man Rock could feel the terrifying power hidden inside the book. He thought to himself that Lady Caitlin was truly formidable.
Her expression grew serious. She had not seen many Forbidden Wizards before, let alone fought against them.
After joining Master Vincent’s team, she had been encountering more and more Forbidden Wizards, which was also useful to her.
She now had greater chances of breaking through from the Magic Lord Rank into the Forbidden Rank.
She then began to cast the spell.
Boom!
A huge brush appeared in midair, filled with magical power. The brush then struck the body of the Forbidden Wizard.
Forbidden Wizard Richard was still conscious; he just couldn’t speak due to the searing pain, but he heard everything.
Realization dawned on him: he had fallen into a trap. The enemy wanted to extract information from him, but it was already too late.
Lady Caitlin’s magic power began to take effect on him.
"Don’t worry, you can leave. I will handle the rest," Caitlin said to young Master Vincent.
"And I will support her. The Forbidden Wizard won’t be able to do anything," added old man Rock.
Hearing that, I nodded to them. But before leaving, my gaze fell on the Forbidden Wizard’s storage bracelet. I had almost forgotten about it.
Next, I approached the Forbidden Wizard and tried to remove the storage bracelet from his hand. The Forbidden Wizard didn’t resist; in fact, he was more than glad to comply.
Seeing that surprised me, and my intuition told me something was wrong. Just then, the system alerted me with a series of notifications:
[Ding! The storage bracelet is bound by hidden restrictions. Any forceful extraction will result in death.]
After hearing the system reminder, I stepped back. The smile on Richard’s face vanished. He hadn’t expected the young man to back away at the last moment.
Lady Caitlin’s expression shifted.
Afraid that something had happened, old man Rock and Lady Caitlin both stepped forward slightly.
I gestured to them that I was fine. Next, I brought the two of them back to the mansion to convey a message.
The three of us appeared in the main hall.
I said, "His storage bracelet has hidden restrictions. It cannot be forcibly taken. You should be careful when dealing with him."
Hearing that, the expressions of both Lady Caitlin and old man Rock changed drastically. They hadn’t expected such news.
Caitlin resolved to be more cautious during the interrogation.
"We will be careful," Caitlin assured me once more.
Old man Rock nodded as well. Seeing that, I brought them back inside the system space and left them to deal with the Covenant’s Forbidden Wizard.
I hoped they would uncover some useful information.
Swoosh!
Next, I reappeared inside the hall and headed to the control room. I saw the zero puppet in its original form, standing in front of the mirror.
It was monitoring movements outside on the screen.
"Did something happen?" I asked.
"No, Master. The area is quiet. No one has appeared so far," the zero puppet replied.
Hearing that, my lips curved into a smile. The disappearance of the outpost wizards might not have drawn that much attention, but the disappearance of an actual Covenant member was a different matter.
I couldn’t stay on the sidelines forever.
I needed to heat things up a little. A good idea came to mind. Next, I instructed the puppet to stay put, and I returned to the room.
Swoosh!
My feet touched the ground. I immediately sensed that no one was around, but I confirmed it through the system just in case.
A flicker of interest appeared in my eyes. It was time to execute the plan. After interrogating the outpost wizards, I had an idea of where the other outposts were located.
It was time to capture them as well.
Swoosh!
Next, I left the room in a flash, heading toward the next guard post. It was already morning, and daylight was beginning to break.
It didn’t take long for me to find the route mentioned by the captured wizards. A couple of them had provided the exact same details, so the information was likely genuine.
I followed the route toward the next destination.
[Ding! A group of wizards is approaching ahead.]
I heard the system’s voice in my mind and raised my eyebrows, wondering whether they were outpost guards or someone else.
Swoosh!
Next, I appeared inside Gregor Mansion and rushed to the control room to check.
It didn’t take long for me to spot a group of people in the control mirror. Their formation was similar to that of the outpost wizards: one Forbidden Wizard, while the rest were Magic Lords.
"Don’t tell me the news has already leaked," I muttered to myself. I shook my head and quickly collected my thoughts.
If they were outpost wizards, I had to capture them as well. It might seem unnecessary, but I believed it would work in my favor later.
Swoosh!
I appeared outside without alerting anyone. I grabbed the shoulder of one of the Magic Lords and pulled him into the system space.
I instructed the system on what to do, then repeated the process. One by one, I captured them and locked them inside the system space-including the Forbidden Wizard at the very end.
Next, I had to plan the interrogation. I was certain something had happened; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been rushing toward the seashore post.
