Chapter 2219: Part 2: Crystal City Draws a Crowd
Crystal City
But the monsters had not yet decided where they were going to find opportunities alone.
If they went along with the other human members, they could avoid many problems.
Lady Caitlin, who had made up her mind to leave early, informed the members that she was going to leave early today.
The other members agreed. They had decided to leave shortly afterwards. They didn’t want to be seen by the crowd at all. Otherwise, there would be unrest among the crowd.
Lady Caitlin left the residence a few minutes later. She got her identity badge. She wouldn’t have any problems traveling.
But she knew there was a flight ban across the cities. One without considerable authority could not use their flight ability.
So she used her flight ability to leave the premises of the Crystal City. She then landed on a spot closer to the busy businesses.
There were other modes of travel that they could use. She was fascinated by the modern flying cabs here. She was used to seeing those large flying airships.
She herself had traveled in monster carriages. She had seen those fancy cabs and aircraft. She knew her Master Vincent owned a modern, faster aircraft as well.
She wished she had her own mode of travel so she could travel faster. Just then, her gaze fell on a small airship descending nearby.
She realized that there should be a station nearby. She didn’t want to spread her mental power carelessly. She decided to go there and check it out.
Time went by.
When nighttime came, everyone else left the residence. The two monsters left along with them. They had reduced their sizes to travel with the others.
Meanwhile, Elder Blake saw a few black figures leaving the Magic Lord’s residence. He recognized them immediately.
Seeing that they were leaving without informing anyone, he hesitated to ask. He stopped himself in the end. He didn’t say anything.
He thought that if they needed his help, they would seek it. Once they were gone, he was troubled by other matters.
The residents of the Crystal Community contacted him. They wanted to see him. He didn’t know what the residents wanted.
He was more interested in controlling the crowd right now. He decided to inform the gathered crowd. He vanished from the spot and appeared before them.
A large number of people were gathered in front of the Crystal Community’s entrance gate. Elder Blake stood in mid-air.
His gaze fell on the people. He released a little bit of pressure as well. It was only a slight, controlled pressure that wouldn’t hurt mid-level wizards.
Boom!
But it would make them uncomfortable. When the pressure landed on them, the people gathered there were stunned. They didn’t make a sound. Everyone was quiet.
They recognized the person standing in mid-air. He was like the City Lord and an Elder from the administration.
Everyone was aware that Crystal City was under the administration of the Silver Tower.
These people were causing a scene in someone else’s territory. As this understanding dawned on them, they became quiet; especially the people from the neighboring cities, who knew they needed to behave.
The city officials were in position as well. Seeing Elder Blake standing in mid-air, they sighed inwardly.
They were worried that there would be no order from above.
"Ahem," he coughed a little to attract everyone’s attention.
"I know why you guys are gathered here in such large numbers. But I want to break the hard news to you."
"Magic Lord Vincent and his staff are not here. They left the city and went on a mission. No one is living in his residence or the shop right now," Elder Blake said with sharp anger in his tone.
"It’s best for you people not to waste everyone’s time unnecessarily," he added.
Gasp!
A loud exclamation rang out. Looking at Elder Blake and the anger on his face, they thought he was not lying.
They were creating trouble for nothing. Seeing that the people were quiet and listening to him, he decided to continue with his speech.
"Before leaving, Magic Lord Vincent said that the shop is closed. Appraiser Frank has yet to come back from his mission. Once he returns to the city, the shop will open the next day," Elder Blake added.
Hearing that, there was another moment of commotion.
They didn’t know about Appraiser Frank. They had assumed he had returned as well. Now that Appraiser Frank was not here, they could not even appraise their products.
They had wasted their trip. There were people who had come here to see Appraiser Frank himself, including people from the local Wizard Association.
The association members didn’t have permission to see Magic Lord Vincent and the others. They had received the information too late.
They had come here to collect some intel, but Elder Blake revealed the truth to them. In fact, the higher-ups knew that Magic Lord Vincent had already left.
They had wished to meet the other staff members. There were many people who wanted to appraise their magic products. Now, their efforts were wasted. They had to wait further.
It didn’t take long for the people to leave one by one. The crowd started to lose interest. At first, the local people left the place.
Then, the people from the neighboring cities began to leave. Among them, there were spies from different forces who had come here as well.
They started leaving the place. Elder Blake didn’t leave the spot. He continued to monitor the surroundings from mid-air.
He needed to report to the higher-ups as well. He saw those people from the Wizard Association leave. He snorted in his heart.
He had thought of asking for help from those people. Now he knew they were here for their own business as well.
One hour later,
The whole place became empty. The residents of the Crystal Community heaved a sigh of relief. They wanted to see Elder Blake to express their concern.
But he had solved the problem before that. The residents went back to their properties.
The whole Crystal City got its peace back after an intense day.
