Chapter 2220: Covenant Unleashes Its Next Move

Outside Territory

Swoosh!

After leaving the Gregor Mansion, I appeared outside. I immediately used my mental power to scan the surroundings. There were no threats outside.

I raised my head and looked up at the sky. The sky was blue with colorful clouds. Another day had arrived. I inhaled the rich, colorful mana. It entered my body.

It immediately refreshed my body. Then, I thought of Manager Lara. I took out my device and called her.

I didn’t know whether she had called Lord Charlotte. If I wanted, I could have contacted Lord Charlotte directly.

But it was best for Manager Lara to be the middle person. She could give me a heads-up if Lord Charlotte was hinting at something.

When the call connected, I heard the voice of Manager Lara.

"Finally, you picked up the call. I have been calling since yesterday," Lara said with a sigh.

"I was busy practicing," I replied. I didn’t expect her to call me during my practice.

"Did you contact Lord Charlotte?" I asked her.

"Yes, I have informed her about your next journey. But she told me that the outer hall office of the Mage Union needs to give approval," Lara said.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.

I had an additional identity now, and I was familiar with the outer office of the Mage Union.

"Is Lord Evelyn still there?" I asked. I recalled seeing her when I joined the Silver Tower for the first time. She was the one who handed the badge to me.

"You are right. Lord Evelyn is going to decide on your request," Lara said.

"How long should I wait?" I asked.

"The decision is going to be made today," she replied.

"I hope you won’t go to an isolated spot again. The communication will cut off," Lara advised.

"Okay, I’ll be waiting," I replied.

Then, I ended the call and put away the device. I looked around the place. I didn’t know what the members were doing. They would have left the place already.

Next, my gaze fell on the big shade tree. The next moment, I appeared on top of a branch and rested there.

...

Meanwhile,

The Covenant frontline units on the ground were panicking. The news about one of their frontline teams could not be hidden.

The middle-aged female Magic Lord reported the matter to the higher-ups. She and her team members had made an ambush plan to target Magic Lord Vincent.

She had seen Magic Lord Vincent exiting the border. She had informed the team right away, but later, she didn’t receive any response.

After waiting for some time, she had gone there to check, only to find the remains of the members.

She didn’t even take the remains with her. Later, other nearby frontline teams had come to the place to verify her claim.

And it turned out to be true. Their frontline team was wiped out by Magic Lord Vincent. The information spread to other frontline teams.

The news about Vincent Carey becoming a Magic Lord was not kept hidden. In fact, many wanted to challenge him to become famous.

If they were able to kill the Magic Lord, it would hurt the reputation of the Mage Union even more. They were already doing this by attacking the businesses of the Mage Union.

But it hadn’t gotten the reaction they were expecting. The news about the demise of the frontline team reached the core members as well.

The core members were an actual part of the Covenant. They were going to lead the next generation of the Covenant. As long as they were alive, the Covenant was going to live as well.

When they heard the news, they were surprised by the strength of the Mage Union. The many wizard towers were truly the backbone of the Mage Union.

If they wanted to hurt the Mage Union, they had to get past the many wizard towers. But this death could not go without a response from them.

It didn’t matter how strong of a genius wizard the young man could be. He was just a single person at the end of the day.

So, the core members instructed the frontline Magic Lord Teams to unite and hunt him down. There were at least 20 Magic Lord Frontline Teams on the ground.

They had all gotten the news. They were now tracking the whereabouts of Magic Lord Vincent. Their spies had told them that Magic Lord Vincent didn’t return to the Magic City.

In fact, Magic Lord Vincent was a celebrity now. The news about him could not be hidden for long. Even his own residence and shop were being monitored.

If he came back, everyone would know. So, the Frontline Teams trusted the news. They knew the popularity of their target.

If the news about him slaying one of the frontline teams spread across the Magic City, his popularity would skyrocket further.

The Magic Lords wanted to find Magic Lord Vincent before that happened.

...

Satellite Cities

Otto, Patrick, and Vine Monster were exploring the places alone, whereas Hank, old man Rock, and Vine Monster were looking for opportunities together in another city.

On the other hand, Lady Caitlin had already figured out her goal. She was after hidden resource points. Right now, she was staying in one of the satellite cities where the story of the hidden resource points started.

They had left the crystal city. They didn’t know what was happening out there, but everywhere they went, they saw people discussing Magic Lord Vincent and the Silver Tower.

Many children wanted to join the Silver Tower to see Magic Lord Vincent. It was a surprising moment for the members. They hadn’t known how big their Master was.

He was popular across all the satellite cities. Everyone was hearing the stories about his Magic Arena duel battles, and later, his altercation with the two Major Elemental Towers.

That matter was not hidden either. Everyone had seen someone from the Red Flame Elemental Tower going to the crystal city during that time before this entire incident.

Right now, both towers were keeping their silence.

They didn’t utter a word regarding Magic Lord Vincent. He was not simply a Silver Tower Wizard anymore. He was officially part of the Mage Union now.
