Hedonist Prodigy

Chapter 88: A Gentleman’s Revenge

Chapter 88: A Gentleman’s Revenge

At around four o’clock in the morning, the first light of dawn was just beginning to break.

A thin line of daylight illuminated the surroundings, allowing faint shadows of people to come into view.

Jiang Feng, however, was unconcerned about being discovered. He walked directly towards the source of the sound, and when he was about ten meters away, a wary voice called out, “Who’s there?”

“It’s me!” Jiang Feng replied casually.

This voice was familiar to Jiang Feng; it belonged to Yang Wei, the one he had clashed with inside the ancient tomb. Previously, Yang Wei had mentioned that there were guards outside the tomb, which was why he hadn’t left with the two tomb raiders—he intended to deal with them to eliminate potential threats.

To Jiang Feng’s surprise, after the collapse of the tomb, Yang Wei had managed to escape, proving to be quite lucky.

“Is it really you?” Upon hearing Jiang Feng’s voice, the tone became sharper, and soon footsteps were heard as several figures appeared within Jiang Feng’s line of sight.

Yang Wei spotted Jiang Feng and his expression darkened significantly. Just as Jiang Feng was shocked that Yang Wei had emerged alive, Yang Wei was equally astonished that Jiang Feng had also survived. Moreover, during their encounter in the tomb, Yang Wei had severely injured Jiang Feng. Even if Jiang Feng had miraculously escaped death, he should have been left with a near-fatal condition. However, the aura radiating from Jiang Feng now indicated that his injuries had fully healed, sending a shiver through Yang Wei’s heart. It was clear that the newcomer did not come with good intentions!

Yang Wei spoke, “We were looking for you, yet you came knocking on our door—what a death wish!”

“I think you’re the one seeking death!” Jiang Feng replied lazily, raising his hand and slapping towards Yang Wei.

A silver needle shot into Yang Wei’s heart. If he were an ordinary person, he would have already collapsed dead, but he was still alive, albeit heavily injured. The peculiar abilities exhibited by the Qihuang Sect made Jiang Feng feel a sense of unease. If the people from the Qihuang Sect were not utterly destroyed this time, the aura on them would eventually be discovered. Therefore, all of them had to die!

A glint of sharpness flashed in Yang Wei’s eyes as he threw a punch at Jiang Feng’s hand.

Jiang Feng smirked coldly, twisting his wrist to meet Yang Wei’s fist directly.

The palm and fist collided mid-air, producing a dull thud. Yang Wei felt as if his fist had struck a solid wall, pain radiating through him. His expression changed dramatically as he exclaimed, “You…”

Jiang Feng sneered and slapped again. Yang Wei hurriedly retreated, disbelief written all over his face as he stammered, “Yellow level? How could you possibly be at the Yellow level? What on earth happened?”

“I’ll tell you once you’re in hell!” Jiang Feng replied dismissively.

In a flash, he appeared in front of Yang Wei and sent him flying with a punch.

Yang Wei crashed to the ground, his face twisted with hatred as he glared at Jiang Feng. He realized he had underestimated Jiang Feng. He never imagined that within just a few hours, Jiang Feng had advanced to the Yellow level and fully healed from his injuries. If he had not been injured, he might have stood a chance against Jiang Feng; the outcome was still uncertain. However, after Jiang Feng had shot a silver needle into his heart in the ancient tomb, his vital energy had been blocked. Although he had taken the protective heart pill from the sect, it only addressed the symptoms, not the root cause.

Unless he was given some time to recover, but Jiang Feng would certainly not grant him that opportunity. After escaping from the collapsed tomb, Jiang Feng hadn’t left immediately; instead, he had come here, and Yang Wei understood perfectly that Jiang Feng was here for revenge.

Ignoring Yang Wei’s furious expression, Jiang Feng advanced once more. He was indeed here for revenge. Raising his hand, he aimed for Yang Wei’s crown!

At that moment, several others rushed in from the side, swarming towards him.

Jiang Feng let out a cold laugh, “Seeking death!” Without even looking, he kicked them all away with full force, leaving those he kicked either injured or incapacitated. His gaze returned to Yang Wei.

Yang Wei shivered and exclaimed sharply, “If you dare to kill me, the Qihuang Sect will never let you go. Aren’t you afraid of death?”

“Are you threatening me when you’re already on the brink of death?” Jiang Feng’s eyes sparkled with a hint of Essence as he calmly replied, “Do you really think I would fear the Qihuang Sect? Is the Qihuang Sect that impressive? One day, I will personally wipe out the Qihuang Sect’s from this earth!”

Yang Wei had mentioned the Qihuang Sect to warn Jiang Feng, intending to deter him from acting recklessly. Little did he expect Jiang Feng to respond like this. A sense of dread filled him, and he quickly turned to flee.

Jiang Feng wouldn’t let him escape. In a flash, he appeared before Yang Wei and slapped him on the top of his head.

Yang Wei didn’t even have a chance to resist before he crashed to the ground, breathless and lifeless.

The others, witnessing Jiang Feng’s ruthless actions, were terrified and scattered in panic.

With his killing intent unleashed, Jiang Feng wouldn’t let them leave easily; he pursued them one by one.

A minute later, all of them lay dead.

After killing several people, Jiang Feng then shifted his figure and swiftly headed down the mountain in another direction!

That afternoon, Jiang Feng arrived in Tang City. After buying a map, he checked into a small inn.

Jiang Feng decided to study the Spirit Suppressing Seal before continuing north. His journey northward was not only to avoid the Qin family’s eyes and ears but also primarily to rapidly enhance his strength.

He had long recognized the reality that without sufficient strength, one could achieve nothing in this world. Naturally, he wouldn’t allow himself any slack.

*****

In Yanjing, at the Lufeng Teahouse.

The Lufeng Teahouse appeared unremarkable from the outside, lacking any flashy sign. It was rumored that the owner was a former pop diva who had retired from the entertainment industry. After drifting through the highs and lows for over a decade and witnessing all kinds of glamour, she decided to retire gracefully and opened a small teahouse to pass the time.

The Lufeng Teahouse was indeed quite small—so small that it wouldn’t even be marked on a map—but that didn’t matter. What mattered was the type of people who came and went.

In a small private room on the second floor of the teahouse, Ye Qingxuan held a teacup in her hands, staring blankly at the lake outside. The water in her cup had long cooled, yet she hadn’t taken a sip, as if her mind had been drawn away by the lake’s surface.

Chen Siran watched her and sighed softly, saying, “Qingxuan, you called me out this time but haven’t said a word. What on earth happened?”

Ye Qingxuan let out a faint, bitter smile and replied, “I made an unforgivable mistake at the wrong time and place, and I don’t know what to do now.”

Chen Siran, being quite perceptive, immediately understood that Ye Qingxuan was referring to the incident at Old Master Qin’s eightieth birthday banquet. She sighed again and said, “If you think you’ve done something wrong, you can apologize to him.”

Chen Siran didn’t mention Jiang Feng’s name, but she knew Ye Qingxuan understood who she was talking about.

“I can’t find him anymore,” Ye Qingxuan said bitterly.

“What happened?” Chen Siran asked, puzzled.

Ye Qingxuan set down her teacup and softly recounted the events. After listening, Chen Siran’s expression changed, and she exclaimed, “How could such a thing happen? Was it the Qin family’s doing?”

At that moment, Ye Qingxuan already knew that the deceased was Qin Shiming. After Qin Shiming’s death, the reaction within the Qin family had spread throughout Yanjing, and now everyone in the Qin family was searching for Jiang Feng.

Although they hadn’t found him yet, Ye Qingxuan couldn’t even bear to think about the consequences if Jiang Feng were to be found by the Qin family. Previously, Jiang Feng had already severely offended Qin Junlin, and now he had killed Qin Shiming, making enemies of the entire Qin family.

Ye Qingxuan was very clear that all of this was because of her. If it weren’t for her selfishness, Jiang Feng would not have been targeted by the Qin family, and Qin Shiming would never have caused trouble for Jiang Feng. Now that Qin Shiming was dead, it was said that he died at Jiang Feng’s hands; in truth, wasn’t she also a part of that execution? Although she didn’t care about Qin Shiming’s life or death, the fact that it implicated Jiang Feng and even forced him to go on the run was something Ye Qingxuan couldn’t get past in her heart.

Hearing Chen Siran say this, Ye Qingxuan nodded.

Chen Siran’s face turned pale as she said, “Qin Shiming is dead, and Jiang Feng has disappeared. Could it be that Qin Shiming was killed by Jiang Feng?”

Ye Qingxuan didn’t respond, but from her expression, Chen Siran knew that it was true. Her heart trembled inexplicably as she asked, “What should we do now?”

“I don’t know,” Ye Qingxuan admitted, completely at a loss. When she was in the limelight, everyone adored her, but now that her existence couldn’t shift the interests of various parties, she couldn’t even find someone to talk to. Ye Qingxuan had endured so much torment that she thought of asking Chen Siran out to talk.

Chen Siran fell silent again. After about ten minutes, Ye Qingxuan finally spoke, “Siran, I called you out because I want to ask you for a favor.”

“Go ahead,” Chen Siran replied.

“I need some money,” Ye Qingxuan said shyly. Ever since Qin Shiming’s death, the Qin family was furious, and the Ye family was also struggling. Her financial rights had been frozen, and the Ye family was strictly monitoring her. She could barely leave the school, and this meeting with Chen Siran was only possible because of Chen Siran’s special status, which prevented her family from stopping her.

“How much do you need?” Chen Siran asked.

“One hundred thousand yuan,” Ye Qingxuan hesitated to say, feeling her cheeks burn. She had never lacked money before and had never thought that one day she would have to borrow money from someone else. Chen Siran initially thought she was asking for a large sum to help Jiang Feng with his troubles, but was surprised it was only one hundred thousand, which was a small amount. She immediately handed Ye Qingxuan a card, saying, “There’s five hundred thousand in here, and the password is my birthday, as you know.”

“Siran, thank you. I will definitely find a way to pay you back,” Ye Qingxuan said gratefully as she took the card.

Chen Siran smiled wryly, wanting to ask Ye Qingxuan what she needed the money for, but after thinking it over, she decided not to say anything…
