There was only one way out of the alley if you ignore the idea of jumping to the roof of one of the buildings.

‘Moving toward the old man would alert him.

I need a decoy.’ Kai thought to himself.

“You’re seriously the silent type, aren’t you?” With his calculations, Kai estimated that he had probably a few microseconds that he can do anything in before the mysterious man would attack him.

At the same time, Ethia could be there at any moment so even if he was able to get Mikayla away from the man, Ethia would definitely not allow it.

“You know, Black Phantom.

Your existence has always been annoying me.

A mysterious kid that no one knows suddenly appeared and changed all the rules as if he was the new king.

People dream of reaching the position you reached and would kill to even have a taste of it.

Yet, you never really showed any interest in truly playing the role.” “I don’t play roles.” Kai replied coldly as he continued forming a plan in his head.

An idea had come to his head at that moment and he was considering how possible it was.

“Of course you don’t.

Someone as great as you are can do whatever they want.

However, I never believed that you are that stronger than me.

I’m one step less than being a god.

Look at the old man, I barely used 20% of my strength and he was about to die.

Do you even understand how absurd that is?”  Kai’s eyes squinted slightly.

In reality, he already knew that the fight was nowhere near being close.

His mysterious enemy didn’t even use a fraction of his power to beat the Sword God himself.

If that wasn’t an indication of how dangerous this man was then Kai didn’t know what was.

“Well, it’s pointless talk right now.

I got you within my grasp now and I won’t let you go at all.” Licking his lips, the man was about to go on the offense, when he was surprised by something.

Kai had suddenly picked up Mikayla and put him over his shoulder as he dashed toward the mysterious man.

‘What is he trying to do?’ The man asked himself as he clenched his fist and quickly dashed forward.

He didn’t care what Kai was trying to do, stopping him came as utmost priority.

The two flashed in the blink of an eye, appearing right in front of each other.

As the Seraphim was about to attack, his eyes widened as he noticed a disastrous detail.

Mikayla was nowhere to be seen.

‘What?

He was on his shoulder a split second ago.’ His eyes immediately wandered around as he searched for his target.

It didn’t take him long to find him.

Up in the air, a few dozen meters right on top of them, Mikayla’s body was rising up.

‘He threw him?!

Why?

Is he trying to attack me right before he falls down?’ His mind tried to understand what was happening instantaneously.

He analyzed Kai’s movements, possible intentions and any other variable that he could add into the situation and yet he couldn’t find any possible and logical conclusion.

The Black Phantom wasn’t dumb enough to think that he can kill the Seraphim in a matter of moments before Mikayla falls down again nor can he even heavily injure him.

However, the next moment, everything was finally revealed.

When Mikayla’s body reached a certain height, a body suddenly appeared from a nearby building as it pierced through the air, picked up the old man and then vanished on the next building.

The Seraphim was shocked to see that.

He didn’t know who that person that picked up Mikayla and he frankly didn’t have time to even think about it as he noticed Kai’s sword moving out of its sheath and slicing through the air, aiming for his neck.

He had no time to dodge so he decided to deflect the attack with his weapon.

*BOOOOOM* The clash was so violent that it sent the Seraphim back a few hundred meters.

When he landed on the ground, Kai had already appeared in front of him.

‘Fast!’ His teeth clenched as he noticed the shining purple orbs peering at him through the mask.

He felt as if he was fighting a demon from hell.

But, he didn’t have time to even feel fear as he quickly opened the umbrella.

The blade connected with the barrier of the umbrella, sending a disastrous shockwave across the whole city.

But, Kai didn’t stop there as he spun around and landed his foot on the Seraphim, smashing him against the ground powerfully, the earth shattered as if it was made out of biscuits.

The Seraphim found himself digging into the ground with his body as sharp rocks sliced through his body.

The crushing weight of the hit broke many of his ribs and made him vomit blood.

‘He’s too fast.’ The Seraphim wasn’t expecting all of this at all.

From what he heard about the Black Phantom, he was never someone who would instantly go this aggressive and monstrous.

Yet, what he was seeing now was a completely different version of that legendary hitman.

A monster that was seeking blood and destruction.

Not even a shred of what he heard about him was left.

As he was like that, Kai landed with his feet on top of the Seraphim as he shoved the heel of his boot into his face.

“I’ve had enough of you Divinity idiots.

Every single one of you is more foolish than the other.

Nothing you do comes out of rational thinking and that’s expected considering you all follow that man.” Hearing those words, the Seraphim’s eyes widened as his whole body froze.

“What… did you say?” “You know exactly what I mean.

I know way more than you do and I will tell you this now.

You are following an idiot straight into oblivion.

At some point, you might want to go back and that’s when you realize you went too deep to come back up.” Kai replied as he crouched down.

His eyes stared directly at the battered Seraphim.

“You will soon realize how useless your strength has been.

An imprisoned man is as good as a paralyzed man, both can do nothing.” He added before he pulled his blade out, ready to deliver the killing blow for the Seraphim.

However, at that moment, something unexpected happened.

The earth suddenly started shaking as Origin exploded out of the Seraphim’s body.

“How… dare you…” The Seraphim murmured with an extremely cold tone.

Kai didn’t immediately retreat and instead quickly used his sword and stabbed down using a good amount of strength.

However, his sword was met with a very strong barrier.

“How… dare you… Insult him?!!!” Suddenly, and out of nowhere, the barrier exploded, pushing Kai tens of meters away.

‘Is he unleashing all of his strength?’ Kai thought to himself as he watched the Seraphim stand up slowly.

“I won’t… let… anyone disrespect him!!!” *BANG*
