I, a Simple Villager, was Reincarnated as an Infamous Tyrant Prince from 300 Years Ago!

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Can you stop sending letters to my Fiancée already?

Half a year had passed since I began training under Marquis Fahlcrantz’s tutelage.

Finally, I was starting to get a hang of swordsmanship, and now I didn’t get muscular pains even after long sword swinging sessions.

Also, my body had started to become a bit firm as well, and I had a distinct six pack abs on my abdomen now.

All that said.

“Alright, that’s enough.”

“Th-thank you very much……….”

The Maruqis’ training became stricter and harsher by the day, and I would still collapse to the ground with the signal that marked the training’s end.

“Prince Rudolf, good work today as well.”

“A,ahaha…….thank you, Lady Lizbeth.”

I instantly gulped down the drink she offered me, one made by mixing honey and water with a pinch of lemon.

Phew……..that really hits the spot…….

“St-still, I know this is late of me to ask but, you’re coming to train me every day and, well, ……….are you okay, with your work and stuff that is……..?”

“kuku,…….you need not worry. I’m doing this because I really enjoy it as well, that’s all.”

Marquis Fahlcrantz chuckled as he answered.

His way of laughing was also, well, weird, or rather, a bit awkward………he definitely gets misunderstood I’m sure. If someone who didn’t know saw this, they’d think he was hatching up some evil plan or something.

“That’s right. Father’s doing all this because he too enjoys this so, if anything, it should be mother or our subordinates that should be complaining if anything.”

“mu……….”

And then came the sharp retort from Lizbeth aimed directly at the Marquis.

She too, often seemed to be cold and harsh……..or at least, that’s the impression she gives off so all the servants in the Imperial Palace seem to constantly misunderstand her greatly as well.

She was simply a little awkward, and was incredibly gentle in reality.

Well, I too had my image of her from [War Records of Wilhelm] set in my head so, I too was pretty scared when I first met her though.

I should make sure to never let her know that fact.

“Then, I’ll take my leave now but……”

“Uh, yes. I’ll be sure do my daily one thousand sword swings, I promise.”

“Good.”

The Marquis gave a satisfied nod, and then left the training area.

“Haah………I’m fine with him training you your highness but, I wish he’d hold back a little on coming here every single day at least…….”

Gazing at the exit of the training area, Lizbeth sighed to herself.

I imagine for it might feel like the Marquis was constantly keeping a watchful eye on her which she certainly didn’t seem to enjoy.

“It can’t be helped. The Master is simply a bit over protective you Lady Lizbeth.”

“……..even though I’ll be a proper adult in just another half year.”

Seeing Maya smile wryly, Lizbeth shook her head with her palm on her forehead.

But……….from my perspective, I was a little envious of her who was so deeply loved by the Marquis.

“Well, I’m sure he’s also very happy to see the growth of his disciple every day as well I imagine.”

“Ah…….y-you think………I guess so…….”

Maya’s words made me so happy, I ended up unconsciously smiling.

“Still, there seems to be no contact from that side even now huh………”

While I was having my usual tea with Lizbeth at the garden, she muttered that with her gaze falling downwards.

Of course, she was talking about Fredrik’s camp.

Half a year had passed but there had been no news from the Fredrik camp, and it seemed like we were waiting in vain at this point.

That said, I really wanted to avoid initiating contact with Fredrik from our side.

Not only would that make them a lot more cautious and vigilant of us, we would also give up our advantage in terms of negotiations.

The first one to make a move was bound to lose in this situation.

“In any case, Maya is keeping an eye on their camp’s movements so if anything happens, we’ll be ready to deal with it. All we can do is wait, and nothing more.”

“That is certainly true but……….”

“Lady Lizbeth, is something the matter?”

A somewhat proud looking Maya asked, seeing Lizbeth slightly glare at her.

Probably because I said something that showed my trust in Maya, Lizbeth was sulking a little, I think.

I realized this over the past half a year but, Lizbeth was a surprisingly jealous girl, and was quite possessive as well.

And Maya seemed to really find that amusing, as she would often use any chance to instigate Lizbeth like this in an attempt to irritate her.

I wish, she’d be a bit more reserved in that regard though. (But jealous Lizbeth was also cute, so I won’t ask her to stop completely.)

“………If Prince Fredrik’s camp finally make a move, I’d finally be rid of getting these letters as well I imagine……”

Lizbeth frowned, as she fluttered a certain letter in her hand.

On this letter, the insignia of the royal family, the double headed eagle, was visible.

“Even now, once every three or so days, one these comes addressed to Lady Lizbeth huh. If he’s really that devoted, why not show a little bit of this to his own fiancée?”

“Once again, I can only deeply apologize for the sorry state of my family…….”

Hearing Maya’s sarcastic jeer, I bowed deeply towards Lizbeth once again.

Looks like that idiot Robin really seriously fell in love with Lizbeth, and started sending letters her way.

I did ask Lizbeth to show me the contents of these letters as well but seeing the overly flowery language, far cry from the pettiness and arrogance of Robin, even I couldn’t help but laugh wryly.

Furthermore, it was impossible to simply ignore the letters from the third Prince either so, as unwilling as she may be, Lizbeth did have no choice but to write something back.

That said, all she wrote was [I am betrothed to Prince Rudolf, I humbly refuse.] just that one line, every time.

And yet, he refused to give up and continued to send letters. Honestly, it was admirable in a way. Well, not really. It was simply disgusting and creepy if anything.

“……….Maya, why don’t you write a reply for once.”

“No thanks. I refuse. I think my job of having to constantly deliver your reply to Prince Robin, who is always waiting for it with a wide smile, should have earned me more than enough praise.”

“aaah………”

No seriously, I felt really sorry for both of them.

Watching these two try and push it on to each other, I once again apologized in my heart again and again. Not that it is actually my fault though.
