Robin it’s time you finally learnt your lesson as well.
“now then………..our work here is done so, what do we do next?”
Leaving the salon, I asked Lizbeth.
Or rather, there’s a chance both Robin or Wilhelm might be at the party hall so I personally had planned to return back to the Scorpio palace no matter what.
Yes, that’s what I was thinking but.
“In that case, I would like to visit the garden in the Virgo palace.”
“That garden eh?”
“Yes………..today, I finally got to hear your confession of love to me Prince Rudolf. It is my greatest day. I would like to truly relish this happiness once more in that very garden, where we first met.”
Lizbeth looked at me and flashed a grin.
Well, if I hear something that nice, I couldn’t help but do what she asked happily as well.
And so.
“It’s beautiful……….”
Illuminated under the moonlight, the jasmines…….were unfortunately non-existent as you’d expect but, in their stead, Snow daisies were in full bloom all across the garden.
“Your highness, may I take one of these for myself?”
“Of course. There’s plenty in bloom after all.”
“fufu, thank you very much.”
Lizbeth plucked one of the flowers and took a moment to enjoy its scent.
This back-and-forth was also similar to that day as well.
Speaking of, that day as well Robin had shown up here and I quickly hid her in the bushes to keep her safe, didn’t I?
I have always wondered but why is it always Robin that shows up to be a hindrance to me I wonder. Is it some kind of curse?……….maybe.
“Prince Rudolf, just what are you thinking about right now?”
“Just recalling the events from 9……no 10 years ago, that’s all.”
Almost a year had passed since I reunited with Lizbeth again.
The first three months, I was simply afraid of being assassinated by her hands like in the history books and was constantly worrying over how to annul our engagement or at least, how to build just enough of a good relation with her so as to not get assassinated, wasn’t I?
“Ahaha.”
“muu……….now you’re laughing even. Just what are you thinking about, I wonder?”
It would seem that she suspected me of having some bad thoughts instead, as she pouted with displeasure.
“No, well, I suppose I can confess this to you now but, until I realized that you were the girl from that day on your birthday party, I was actually thinking of ways to break off our engagement you know?”
“EEHH!?”
When I revealed that, Lizbeth’s expression instantly changed to one of despair.
Oh dear, I-I think I have made her misunderstand things again………
“W-well, you see, all the rumours suggested that Lady Lizbeth was in a relationship with that Wilhelm instead so, I felt a bit guilty that I may have stolen you from him you see, so…..”
Of course, telling her the actual truth that I feared being killed by her was out of the question so, I decided to come up with a believable lie instead to explain.
Well, that misunderstanding was also partly true though.
“……….whoever spread those rumours, I will never forgive them.”
“a, ahahaha……..”
Seeing Lizbeth make a stern expression, my face cramped with fear.
Yeah, I better not make an enemy of her ever. That said, I don’t think that’s ven possible any longer. Right? Please say that I’m right.
“Anyway, can we just stop talking about that man already. My entire life, the only one I had feelings for, was you, and you alone.”
“yesh yesh”
Lizbeth puffed her cheeks and grabbed my face with both her hands, so I quickly replied in a panic.
But……….even this expression of hers, was just so unbearably adorable to me.
“mou! mou! Why are laughing again!?”
“S-sorry, sorry!”
Lizbeth’s face grew even redder, and she began to repeatedly hit and poke at me in frustration. Ow ow, that hurts.
Messing about like that for a while, me and Lizbeth continued to soak ourselves in our memories held within the Virgo palace gardens, and continued to enjoy the moment……..that said.

“……….a bit cold tonight, no?”
“Yes………”
As the sudden gust of cold wind blew, Lizbeth hugged her own body for warmth.
And so.
“ah………”
“My dearest one, you mustn’t catch a cold here.”
I took of my coat and draped it over Lizbeth’ shoulders, making her break into a heart-warming smile.
My dear fiancée. Isn’t she just the cutest in the whole world? I won’t accept any objections.
“As reluctant as I am, I think it’s time we headed back.”
“fufu………I had fun.”
“Likewise.”
I took Lizbeth’s hand, and as we began to make our way back inside the palace……..!?
“RUDOLF!!”
Standing in our way was, of all people, Robin himself.
Eeeh…….this guy, why does he always show up to be a pain in the neck everytime we come here…….or was he actually aiming for this……
“You bastard! You dare trick my mother, and are trying to tear me and Lizbeth apart……!! You mere “dirty pig”!!!”
Evidently, Queen Alicia already seems to have taken measures but the fact that he’s here means, that she’s already failed though. Can’t you be a bit more strict with this guy please.
“Brother Robin………enough with this farce already. I believe Queen Alicia has already warned you to not approach me or Lizbeth ever again has she not? In that case…….”
“Silence! Don’t get cocky you damn pig! A bastard like you……!?”
Robin tried punch at me but I took Lizbeth in my embrace as I smoothly dodged out of the way of his attack.
Even in such a situation, she was still smiling while in my arms so I guess she’s enjoying this as well. Good to know I suppose.
“Enough already. I am not the same person as before. If you dare lay a hand on me or Lizbeth, you’ll be making an enemy of not just us, both the entire Fahlcrantz house as a whole. And all you’d do is cause further problems for both Queen Alicia and Brother Fredrik.”
“Ugh,uuu………..”
I guess it took until I explained all that for the realization to finally set in for him, as Robin seemed to groan in annoyance.
No seriously, you’re supposed to be older than me, you should be more aware of these things already.
Robin continued grimace and glare at me for a while until–
“……..in that case, I have my own plans as well.”
He muttered so, and then, Robin left the place.
