Chapter 63
Chapter 63
The Third Prince’s Fiancée
“I am the eldest daughter of the Border Count Andersen. My name is Sheila.”
A name that I recognized entered my ears.
Vivid white blonde hair done in an half-up hairstyle, and shining emerald eyes.
A tinge of youth still remained in her face but, her appearance exuded kindness and coupled with her light pink lips, she seemed to almost give you a sense of security just by looking at her.
But, I see………..She’s Robin’s ex-fiancée ………ahh!?
I felt a sudden sharp pain in my thigh, making me look to my side in a panic.
“muuuuuuu……….”
…………….Liz was not happy. At all.
It would seem she had misunderstood my gaze for me liking Sheila.
“Y-you’re misunderstanding something. The only reason I was looking so fixatedly at her was because she’s Robin’s ex-fiancée, that’s all.”
It’d be a problem if I didn’t clear things up so I quickly whispered that in Liz’s ear.
Or rather, I’m sure Liz should’ve recognized that name as well, right?
“………..You promise? That that’s all it was?”
“I promise! I’m telling the truth! I have no other special thoughts in my mind right now!”
Liz’s voice was piercingly cold.
So cold, that I inadvertently straightened my back as I spoke.
“Very well……..but still, I’d prefer if you’d didn’t ogle other noble ladies too much, okay?”
“O-of course!!”
Seeing Liz stare at me, still with some doubts in her mind, I quickly nodded multiple times.
I disliked being doubted like this but, a part of me was also extremely happy to see her be so jealous of even such little things.
While we were chatting like that, it was finally my turn to introduce myself.
“Lord Rudy, good luck.”
“ahaha……..”
*mmh!* Liz enthusiastically gave her encouragement to me, making me smile wryly as I stood up to speak.
“I am the fourth prince of the Baldyk Empire, Rudolf Fürst Baldyk. A pleasure to meet you all.”
“”””……………………..””””
I simply named myself, and then sat back down.
But even that alone was enough to instantly gather the attention of entire class at me, as I could tell that every single student was looking at me.
Some made troubled expression, some bitter ones and some……….sent death glares at me.
That alone was enough for me to know which factions their families belonged to.
Among all those.
“………..*smile*”
Just a single one, sent a smile my way.
It was……..that Sheila herself.
“fufu……….to make eyes towards my fiancé, she’s got guts, eh?”
Liz please, can you calm down for a second.
I’m sure she has her own feelings about it all as well but, I highly doubt Liz needs to worry about her considering I’m the reason her engagement was broken off, right?
Well, that’s what I wanted to say but, that in and of itself might seem like I was trying to defend Sheila so, I stopped myself.
That really might make Liz go mad from jealousy. Though a part of me kinda wanted to see that as well.
“C-c’mon, it’s your turn next Liz.”
“Yes.”
Liz stood up, looked around the class……..or not, and instead simply glared at one specific person.
“The sole daughter of the Marquis Fahlcrantz household, as well as fiancée to Prince Rudolf, the name is Lizbeth. Pray you never forget that.”
Saying that, Liz smirked.
Her expression only made the young noble boys and girls freeze up at the very sight.
From those who didn’t know her, it would only bring fear.
And yet.
“ohhh……….”
In contrast to the surroundings that were slightly trembling, Sheila alone was still all smiles, even after getting a direct hit from her icy glare.
Th-this girl, she’s quite the warrior herself huh……..
“……….goodness me, she has some nerve.”
“L-liz, please, just calm down okay?!”
“You need not worry Lord Rudy. I’m in fact very calm, can’t you tell? I would be an embarrassment to the Fahlcrantz family if I were to let my heart be shaken before a battle after all.”
It’s no use. She’s already entered war mode.
In the time I somewhat managed to pacify Liz, the rest of the introductions were also completed.
The class should end for today with just that so, I’d really like to get out of here as quickly as possible.
If not, god only knows what Liz might do to Sheila……..wait what!?
“Prince Rudolf, Lady Lizbeth, an honour to finally make an acquaintance. My name is Sheila.”
That Sheila, she came to our desk at her own will and politely curtseyed.
Why would anyone try to jump into the Lion’s den on her own accord!?
B-but, now that Sheila has introduced herself, we couldn’t just ignore her either.
“L-Likewise. The name’s Rudolf.”
“…………and I’m Lizbeth, and so, what business do you have with us?”
Uugh……..Liz was not holding back with her intimidation.
One wrong step, and she really might lunge at Sheila.
“ehehe. To be honest, I really wanted to have a chat with you two. So, if possible, would you two be interested in accompanying me for some tea? There’s this beautiful terrace inside the academy, perfect for it, you know?”
Showing a carefree smile, Sheila invited us to tea.
“We-well……..I imagine it’s the same for Lady Sheila as well but, we do have to do our unpacking and such in our dorm rooms so…….”
“Oh myyyyy! You actually remembered my name!”
Here I was, trying to politely decline her, and there she was, getting all excited simply because I remembered her name.
Uwaaah……….if it was a normal 15yr old boy, they’d definitely misunderstand this situation.
“Miss Sheila, did you perhaps not hear what the Prince said? Lord Rudy is currently occupied and very busy. Unfortunately, he does not have the time to hang out with you.”
Liz tightly pulled on my arm, and replied curtly in my place.
“Is that so………in that case, oh, how about having dinner with me instead?!”
She calmed down but only for a moment, as the next instant, Sheila came up with a different brilliant idea as she exclaimed while clapping her hands.
However………….
“How many times must I tell you but………..”
“Very well. Then tonight, at 7pm, let us meet up at the academy’s cafeteria then.”
“Lord Rudy!?!”
I cut between Liz’s words, and agreed to a promise for dinner instead.
