The Sly Sheila and the Jealous Lizbeth.
“L-Liz………can you forgive me already……..?”
“………………………….”
After making a promise to have dinner together with Sheila, Liz stopped listening to any word I said……..
Not just that, she didn’t even let me touch her hand even though she’d always let me escort her, and neither did she even look at me.
Of course, I too had a legitimate reason for accepting Sheila’s invite.
From the little I talked with Sheila in the classroom, while she seemed very gentle, that would make you want to protect her, but I personally felt that she was hiding her real face underneath it all.
If I had let myself be fooled by her outward atmosphere, I perhaps would have remained oblivious but, unfortunately, I didn’t survive inside that den of snakes we call the Imperial palace, for this long while being a bastard prince for nothing.
That’s why, at the very least, I do believe I am good judge of people.
Which meant, Sheila definitely had a deeper reason for inviting me I’m sure.
If I had to think of one, it was probably in regards to Robin who had broken their engagement.
And of course……….Liz understood all that as well.
“Liz, I will apologize for deciding things on my own. But, to not even ascertain her true motives would increase the chances of bringing harm to our school life…….and perhaps, even to you directly as well.”
In the first place, the reason Robin broke his engagement with Sheila was because he got infatuated with Liz, and betrayed brother Fredrik and Queen Alicia.
Then, it wouldn’t be strange if Sheila held some kind of grudge against Liz as well.
Now obviously, I knew how strong Liz was, and the Andersen family was no threat to the Fahlcrantz family either.
But, this was the Royal Academy. A place filled with a bunch of noble children, and while we were inside the school building, we couldn’t get Maya to help us out either.
And I wanted to pre-emptively erase any sparks that may fall on Liz.
That’s why.
“So please. All for the sake of learning her real motives, please cooperate with me.”
I stood in front of Liz, and fully bowed my head.
“………..You’re not fair.”
“Eh………….?”
“If you make a request in that manner, Lord Rudy, how could I ever bring myself to reject it………”
Liz quickly grabbed me and raised my head back up.
Looking a little troubled, yet her expression seemed a lot more relaxed.
“Thank you. As I thought, you are the only one for me.”
“mouu………you’re really so unfair.”
Saying that, Liz grasped my hand, and smiled brightly.

“……….And so, Maya, you’ll be coming with us to our dinner with Sheila as well. Anne, you’ll go monitor Wilhelm in the meantime.”
“”Understood.””
After returning to the dorms, I gave my orders to Maya and Anne.
“So, should I prepare a private room for this dinner of yours?”
“you can do that?”
“Yes. This is an academy for nobles after all, so there is always a need for such things in case for important dinners after all.”
Apparently, that’s how it was.
From my perspective, I couldn’t fathom just what kind of ‘important discussions’ could be taking place inside the dorms.
“Very well. Then, please do so.”
“Leave it to me. As for the dinner itself as well, I will prepare a such menu to go with it.”
Maya gave a deep respectful bow, filling me with a slight tinge of anxiety.
When she’s like this, I know that Maya is not the type to mess around but still..
“………..Just in case, I better not be dealing with a carrot-based full course or something okay?”
“M-my oh my……….why would I ever do something like that your highness?”
Maya, say that while looking me in the eye next time.
“Lord Rudy, are we done then?”
“Eh? Ah, yes……….”
Liz peeked at me suddenly, making me give a vague answer.
“In that case, until the dinner with that woman,…….Sheila, I’d like you to spar for a couple rounds with me. Thanks to that woman, right now I’m in an extremely unpleasant mood.”

Looks like, her anger hadn’t subsided completely yet.
Ughh…….I can already see the future, a vision me lying flat on the training grounds…….

As I had expected, I was lying in pain on the ground as Liz reached out her right hand towards me.
I grabbed her hand, and slowly got back up.
“yeah……….I’ve still got ways to go huh……..”
“That’s not true you know? Even in our current bout, if I had been even half a step slower, I would have been the one lying on the ground instead.”
She said that but, I’m not going to pretend that I don’t know that it’s simply flattery.
The gap between me and Liz had not decreased much still.
“ahaha, thanks you I guess.”
“muu……….I’m speaking the truth though.”
Seeing me act sarcastic, Liz pouted. How cute.
“That aside, it’s about time we wash our sweat away or else we won’t make it to our dinner in time. Let’s hurry up.”
“Yes.”
We returned to our individual rooms, and entered the bath to wash……….but.
“Maya, my dinner tonight is with Lady Sheila. I don’t need a flowery bath, do I?”
“What are you saying your highness. It will be Lady Lizbeth sitting right beside you. You must always have the smell of her favourite jasmines on you in such a situation.”
Hmmmmmm………….I guess it’s fine then.
I did what Maya asked, and let her dress me up.
“now then……..Let us go.”
“Yes.”
Accompanied by Maya, I began to head to the gates of the girls’ dorms where Lizbeth was.
I would like to go pick her up from her normally but, boys were of course not allowed inside.
At that moment.
“Lord Rudy……..”
Dressed in a vivid blue dress with silver coloured highlights, Liz was already waiting for me at the gates of the boys dorm.
