“fufu, the scenery feels especially pretty, don’t you think?”
Sitting beside me, Liz muttered so.
That said, we were currently in the middle of an ongoing class though.
So, what exactly made the scenery so extra special today? Why of course, it was Wilhelm’s absence from the class.
In the end, after I had stepped down on his leg during the match yesterday, it turns out that I really broke it completely.
And so, for recovery’s sake, Wilhelm had to leave the academy and go back to his home, the Svalier house.
The next day after the practical exam, after finding out that Wilhelm’s leg had suffered a fracture, a bunch of noble girls were being noisy saying that [I had gone too far] but, he was the one that stepped on my foot first and all this happened in the middle of an official match. I’m not going to listen to complaints whatsoever.
“Now it’d be nice if that man finally learns how to stay in his line from here onwards but……..”
“I doubt that’s going to happen………if he was the type to understand that, he would have never taken things this far in the first place……..”
“I suppose so……..”
Both me and Liz drooped our shoulders.
“That aside, we have a dinner planned with Lady Sheila tonight as well. Do you have anything you want to eat?”
“Let’s see……..well, the occasion being what it is, how about sturgeon caviar. I believe it’s the speciality of the territory her house hails from.”
“That sounds nice. I’m sure Lady Sheila will appreciate it as well.”
Ever since the practicals, while I don’t know what happened, Liz and Sheila seem to have sorted out the problems between them.
Of course, she still gets jealous if she sees me talk to Sheila but, other than that, they’re both on cordial talking terms now.
But………I sometimes catch Sheila gazing at Liz and muttering stuff like [Lady Lizbeth. Adorable. Simply heavenly] and whatnot.
Well, I wholeheartedly agree with her words but, her gaze had me feeling a tad suspicious so I’ll stay on guard just in case.
“Speaking of, have you found out what Miss Sheila’s family is preparing as payment to you, Lord Rudy?”
“Hmm……..well we’re conspiring together to bring Robin down so, how do I say this, I don’t really care whatever it is that they decide to give to me honestly……..”
“That’s true. If there’s anything you really wanted Lord Rudy, our Fahlcrantz house will instantly prepare it for you anyway.”
“Saying that, Liz puffed her chest slightly with pride.
Looks like she’s quite proud of the fact that her house is always of use to me. How cute.
“Seriously……..I have nothing but endless gratitude, both towards you Liz, as well as Marquis Fahlcrantz.”
“Well, in that case, you simply have to repay the favour to us sometime in the future that’s all.”
“ahaha, that’s true.”
Seeing Liz make a rare joke, I ended up laughing.

Seated for dinner, Sheila gorged down on the baguette with the sturgeon caviar on top, as she squinted in pleasure.
Looks like following Liz’s advice was the right decision.
“So,……..after coordinating it all with mother and Queen Alicia, the discussion to decide the compensation to be paid to us in regards to Prince Robin’s decision to annul our engagement will be done 10 days from now, in the Cancer Palace.”
“Ten days, huh……..”
“Yes. And on that day, as promised, we’d like you to attend the meeting alongside us as well Prince Rudolf.”
Her smile from enjoying the caviar was gone and replaced by a serious expression as Sheila stared at with her emerald eyes.
To destroy the negotiations, she needed me to be present no matter what so she was probably a little desperate to make sure that I didn’t pull out later or something like that.
“Of course. I will make sure to keep my schedule open for that day.”
“thank you very much. Finally, both me and mother can take a breather and relax for now.”
Sheila’s expression loosened again, as her plump chest relaxed to show her relief.
“In that case, all the formal talks are over. Now we can take our time and enjoy the meal……..”
“Please wait. There’s still something important that we haven’t talked about.”
Cutting me in the middle, Liz suddenly leaned forward to speak.
“eh, umm………and what’s this, uhh important thing……….?”
“Yes. Right now the plan is for Lady Andersen, Miss Sheila, and Lord Rudy to be present during the negotiations but, I would like to take part in it as well.”
“Liz, you too!?”
“Lady Lizbeth!?”
Hearing Liz’s sudden request, both me and Sheila exclaimed loudly.
“W-wait just a moment! This meeting is to make sure that Robin gets his just punishment after intentionally failing to reach an agreement during the negotiations! If you were there to Liz, Robin would almost definitely go completely berserk……!!”

I will personally present each and every insult and embarrassment that he brought to me, your fiancée Lord Rudy, in front of Robin, Queen Alicia as well Lady Andersen. I tried to desperately convince otherwise but Liz was firm, and in no mood of listening.
If it’s like this, Liz was definitely never going to back down, I know for sure…….
Feeling perplexed, I shot a glance at Maya to my side but…….ah, she’s shaking her head as well. Looks like this is out of her hands as well.

“! Lord Rudy, then……..”

Aah seriously………I’m too easy on her…….
But, seeing Liz look so happy……….probably because she’s glad to be of use to me, I simply had no words to say anymore. If anything, I almost broke into a smile myself……..
“Lady Sheila, it would seem the plan has been altered slightly but, I hope you are okay with this…….Oi.”
“haaaaaah………..Oh Lady Lizbeth, how cute, simply heavenly. Another baguette please.”
With a completely entranced look, Sheila continued to gaze at Liz.
