Looks like ordinary methods won’t work on the Mother’s side as well
“Liz, did you sleep well last night?”
10 days had passed since the dinner with Sheila.
Last night, both me and Liz had returned to the Scorpio palace after a while, and right now we were having our breakfast together.
“Yes, thankfully so.”
“That’s good to know. It can be hard to sleep sometimes when your bed suddenly changes after all.”
While deftly dodging the carrots on my plate, I brought the salad to my mouth. Yeah, it tastes good……..ah!?
“*haguh*!?!”
“Lord Rudy, you mustn’t be picky okay?”
Liz thrust some carrots forcefully into my mouth, completely sealing my escape route.
Uugh………..and now the taste of carrots was spreading in my mouth……….
“Still………just what exactly is it about carrots that you hate it so much. Even though it’s so delicious.”
Saying that, Liz bit into a piece of carrot with her pretty pink mouth.
“Everything. And I mean, everything. It’s colour, it’s shape, it’s smell, and of course, it’s taste. It’s very existence is simply unforgivable to me.”
“haah………if you keep being so picky even after marriage, you’ll be setting a bad example for our kids you know?”
“nghuu!??!”
Hearing a surprisingly explosive statement from Liz, I almost choked on my food.
n-no, I mean, yeah, me and Liz are already engaged so, of course we’ll get married one day as well. And then, w-well, that……..even if we are already 15 years old and considered adults, that’s still…….
“? Lord Rudy, is something the matter?”
“Lady Lizbeth. It would seem you fail to understand what you yourself just said.”
Maya then, leaned in and whispered something in Liz’s ears.
“Auauauauauauuuuuuau!?!?!”
Finally realizing what she had just uttered, her face instantly turned strawberry pink, and she began to flap her hands around in a panic. What the hell, this is so darn adorable though.
“T-that’s not……….well, it’s not entirely incorrect but, what I really meant wasn’t what I actually said!!”
“Huh, it’s not? I mean, I did plan on it though……….”
“Seriously. Now I can only feel pit for Prince Rudolf in that case.”
“NOOO That’s not what I said either!! I-I-I of course, am of the same opinion and have the same feelings as Lord Rudy as well but, that’s I mean!! Auauauau………”
Both me and Maya instantly jumped on the chance, and took turns teasing Liz.
Man, my fiancée is so utterly cute, her cuteness alone could conquer the whole world itself. Maya, don’t you think so too?
When I glanced at Maya, she seemed to get what I was thinking as well as she simply gave a thumbs up and nodded. As expected of my personal attendant.
“Lady Lizbeth, you can’t continue feeling so embarrassed like this. Don’t forget, we will be meeting with Lady Andersen today as well.”
“auaua……….r-right, I know…….”
Rebuked by Maya, Liz finally managed to recollect herself again.
Or rather, as I’m partly responsible for sending Liz into disarray, I do think it’s a tad unfair on her. Well, I’m complicit in all this though.
“Now then, hurry and finish up your breakfast. After this, you are going to get changed into a nice dress as well, right Liz?”
“huh, ah, Yes.”
And so, both me and Liz recomposed ourselves, and focused on enjoying our breakfast.

“Thank you for taking the time to come all this way milady.”
At the entrance of the Scorpio palace, me and Liz greeted Sheila’s mother, Paula Andersen.
“oh my oh my, to have Prince Rudolf himself come and greet me at the gates, I am truly honoured.”
Hiding her mouth with a folding fan, Earl Andersen spoke in a gentle and cheerful voice.
Her emerald eyes made her look younger than her age, and coupled with her sweet demeanour, she really did resemble her daughter Sheila quite a lot. Well, I suppose it’s the other way around and it is Sheila that resembles the Earl.
Meaning, she too is a lady that keeps her true tricky personality hidden behind a surface face.
If not, she wouldn’t be able to deal with our neighbouring Nordia Kingdom so deftly.
“Then, allow me to lead the way.”
“of course, I’ll be in your care.”
With Lady Andersen and Sheila in tow, we headed to the Cancer Palace where Queen Alicia and Robin waited, but before that.
“But first, can we agree upon how we are going to go about with this beforehand?”
“ufufu, that’s true, we should.”
And so, me and Liz sat down in the reception room and talked with Lady Andersen and Sheila.
Of course, all so we can make Robin taste true despair.
“And on top of all that, forgive me, but I have one selfish request as well but……..”
“My oh my, what could it be?”
“……….all of this, should be made to be Robin’s own actions made on his own judgement. In fact, I would say that Queen Alicia was also a victim in this scenario, and I’d like you to proceed with awareness of that fact.”
This was not because I had allied myself with Queen Alicia.
But………I, simply wanted that woman to be rewarded as well. That’s all I thought.
I had never received any love from my mother, Beatrice.
But Queen Alicia, she even looked at me with gentle eyes, as if she was my own mother, as if I was not the son of Beatrice, and the hindrance and nuisance that everyone deemed me to be…….
“fuu………. normally speaking, being Prince Robin’s mother, I wanted Queen Alicia to pay for her son’s sins as well but…….”
“Please, I humbly request. If you can accept this one condition, I will not even ask for any further recompense for taking part in this meeting either.”
I feel like I was being a bit unfair but, allow me to use that card here as well.
It was not exactly useful to me in any other way either, and I’m sure Lady Andersen will be more than happy to accept this as well since she doesn’t have anything to lose with this.
“Very well, it can’t be helped.”

“Indeed, we will focus only on bringing pain to Robin and him alone, and be satisfied with just that.”
Saying that, Lady Andersen smiled wryly.
