Chapter 896: Mother son bonding time – r18

That was why Olivia could feel the fear without understanding its true root.

She only saw a husband growing unstable with the King under their roof.

Julian kept his face calm. “Sit down, Mother.”

Olivia hesitated, then moved to the chair near the bed.

Julian closed the distance between them and knelt before her. From that lower position he looked up into her face, close enough that the worry in her eyes was impossible to miss.

“You are overthinking it, Mother,” he said in a soft tone.

Olivia shook her head.

“No, Kraven. I am not. He really is acting out of line. I have known him for many years. For him to become suddenly unreadable… that is not nothing.”

Julian chuckled, the sound oddly gentle and almost out of place for the discussion they were having.

“You are under stress, Mother. That is why you are reading too much into it.”

His hands reached for hers. He held them first, then caressed them slowly, his thumb moving over her with care.

“Father has too much on his mind. He handles the entire duchy, and with the King’s visit the burden has only increased. Add Vanessa’s marriage, my past… everything is too much for him.”

Olivia remained silent. Her expression made it clear she was not convinced. The fear had not left her eyes. If anything, his calmness seemed to unsettle her more, as if she could not understand how he could sound so steady while the house felt ready to crack.

Julian’s voice turned intimate then, carrying a warm breathy texture that changed the air between them.

“You are focusing on things that do not matter.”

His hands left hers and moved upward along her arms. The shift in tone and touch caught her off guard. A small gasp left her lips before she could stop it.

“Kraven—”

She barely had time to react before his hands were already on her breasts, taking them through the light dress that she was wearing.

“I missed you, Mother,” he said.

Olivia’s whole body stiffened. For a second she only stared down at him, shock and heat colliding too quickly for either one to win. Her hands rose halfway, uncertain whether to push him back or hold onto his shoulders.

“Not now,” she whispered. “I came here because of your father. This is not—”

“I know why you came,” Julian murmured.

His palms shaped themselves more fully around her, feeling the soft weight of her through the gown. Her body seemed to answer him even when she herself was hesitant.

“You came because you were afraid and there was no one who you could share this with.”

His thumbs stroked slowly over the curves he held.

“And now that you are here,” he continued, “I will not pretend I have not wanted this since the last time you left my room.”

Olivia’s breath hitched. “Kraven… the door is locked, but if someone—”

“No one will come.”

His hands pressed upward, lifting her slightly into his touch. The gown shifted under his fingers. Through the thin material he could already feel the change in her, the way her body betrayed the argument her mouth still wanted to make.

“You always do this,” she said, her voice beginning to shake. “You turn every serious moment into… into this.”

Julian leaned closer between her knees.

“No,” he said. “I turn toward the one thing in this castle that still feels real.”

Olivia’s eyes fluttered for half a second before her hands finally settled on his shoulders. The conflict in her was visible in every small movement: the straightening of her back, the shallow rhythm of her breathing.

“Your father is in the same wing as the King,” she managed. “If anything happens tonight—”

“Then let the powerful men keep their secrets for one hour,” Julian said. His voice stayed low. “You are here. I am here. That is enough.”

He squeezed her more firmly, his fingers sinking into soft flesh through the gown.

“Ahh… Kraven…”

“I missed the way you feel under my hands,” he said. “I missed the way your body stops arguing before your mouth does.”

Olivia’s grip on his shoulders tightened. “That is not fair.”

“Neither is coming into my room looking like this and expecting me only to talk about father.”

Her face flushed deeper.

Whether from anger, shame, or rising heat was difficult to separate.

Julian did not give the moment room to cool. His one hand remained on her breast, while the other slid up to the neckline of her gown and eased the fabric a fraction lower, just enough to expose the upper swell of soft skin.

Olivia looked down at what he was doing and swallowed hard.

“We said we would be careful.”

“We are being careful,” Julian replied. “The door is locked. Your voice is already quieter than your heartbeat. And I have not even begun to take from you what I truly want.”

Her eyes met his again. There was still worry in them. There was still the shadow of the Duke, the King, the house, the future. But under all of that, something else had begun to open.

Julian leaned in and kissed the newly bared skin above her breast.

“Stay,” he murmured. “Just for a while.”

Olivia’s answer came out broken and soft.

“You are impossible.”

With a smile blooming up his face, he gently lowered the neckline of her gown. The fabric resisted his movement at first, overwhelmed by the fullness of her figure, before gradually giving way beneath his fingers.

He pulled it down a little farther, taking his time as the delicate material slipped from its original position.

For a brief moment, the cloth stuck against the hardened peaks of her nipples, refusing to move any farther. He adjusted his grip and tugged again, and the fabric finally loosened. His smile deepened as he paused to admire the result.

There she was.

A mature breast with the kind of beauty that belonged to a woman who had lived, borne, and still retained a figure capable of stopping thought.
