I Am the Fated Villain

Chapter 1758

Chapter 1758. In this world, I shall attain the Dao—truly, a great final battle is about to erupt

His words made the commander opposite him turn even paler, his face ashen. The arrogance and aggressiveness of the Fatian Alliance had long since become notorious. No matter how much the Zheng Yi Alliance retreated or conceded, they were still subjected to Fatian’s incursions.

Just like now, the Fatian Alliance completely disregarded the Zheng Yi Alliance, casually encroaching on their territories, coming and going as they pleased.

“I want to see what gives you the confidence to be so arrogant,” the Zheng Yi Alliance commander roared, his muscles swelling, treasure light shimmering over him, a domineering aura bursting forth as he charged forward.

“Perfect timing. I’ll make you my first battle achievement,” said the figure with twin wings on his back, sneering with disdain. He reached forward with a massive hand, radiating an ethereal cyan light, like an immortal body tearing through heaven and earth, overwhelmingly powerful.

Boom!

A blinding explosion of light erupted, and the two engaged in combat within this star field. The armies fell back, clearing a zone to avoid collateral damage. Battles at the Dao realm level could easily destroy worlds, annihilate entire armies, and devastate a universe. Even a trace of their power could wipe out thousands of troops.

Before them, ripples of the Dao spread, laws scattered, chaotic mists spiraled upward, and various terrifying forces intertwined, pulverizing everything in front of them into dust.

After hundreds of moves, the Zheng Yi commander suddenly sensed something was amiss, a chill running through him, his expression twisted. He tried to retreat, but it was too late. The winged figure revealed a cold smile, his cheekbones gleaming, and a faint mark appeared.

From it shot a cyan flying sword, slicing through the void as if transcending time and space, piercing directly through the commander’s forehead.

Swoosh!

Blood erupted into the sky like a reverse waterfall, splashing in all directions. There was no suspense—the Zheng Yi commander fell, his blood staining the long expanse of space, his forehead split open, even his soul cleaved in two.

Time seemed to freeze. The Zheng Yi Alliance members’ faces changed drastically, shocked and terrified. No one had expected the battle to end so quickly.

This was barely a few hundred moves; previously, Dao-realm clashes could last years or even longer. The Fatian Alliance warrior was incredibly powerful. The technique just displayed was terrifying—one glance ended an opponent’s life.

From the Fatian side came waves of cheering. With one commander down, who among the Zheng Yi could oppose them?

“Truly worthy of the secret technique praised by the Alliance Leader. It was well worth exchanging so many battle merits for it,” the winged figure said, genuinely satisfied.

The Zheng Yi’s warriors scowled. They knew the Fatian Alliance rewarded frontline fighters with battle merits, which could be exchanged for treasures and opportunities. Rumor had it that enough merits could even allow one to meet the Alliance Leader personally for guidance.

The Fatian warrior had clearly exchanged his merits for an extremely powerful secret technique, capable of easily threatening Dao-realm existences of equal level.

“Kill them all!”

The winged figure’s aura surged, even more domineering. With a wave of his hand, the troops behind surged forward like a tide, blackening the skies, a crushing wave of force. He led the charge personally, his strikes violent and decisive, blood and shattered soldiers flying in every direction, the battlefield horrifically bloody.

The Zheng Yi Alliance army could only continuously retreat. Their frontline warriors were overwhelmed, suffering devastating injuries within just a few clashes.

“No need to retreat any longer. If you insist, I’ll face you directly,” a voice echoed from elsewhere. A mysterious, chaotic place appeared, as if time itself flowed without trace. A grand bronze palace stood there. Inside, candlelight flickered as a figure in white sat calmly on a meditation cushion, a bronze basin before him.

The basin was filled with clear water, rippling, sometimes spreading, sometimes condensing, reflecting the scenes of the vast worlds.

“Thank you, Dao friend,” said a solemn-looking Daoist sitting opposite him, his face kind, smiling gently.

“No need. We are one. If you attain the Dao, I too shall ascend,” the white-robed figure said calmly.

“In this life, I shall attain Dao and ascend; no one can stop me.”

The Daoist nodded slightly. As he spoke, he dissolved into a wisp of clear energy.

“Can I really attain the Dao?”

The white-robed figure’s gaze deepened. With a wave of his hand, the basin’s surface blurred. A faint, pungent metallic scent wafted up. He shuddered, feeling a chill down his spine. Was it his imagination? He seemed to see a pair of cold, indifferent eyes staring at him through the bronze mirror.

“Miss Zhao, we should retreat. The Fatian Alliance truly intends an all-out war with us,” a man said cautiously.

Elsewhere, the battle between Fatian and Zheng Yi raged intensely. A young woman in white moved through the troops with ruthless precision, leaving behind waves of blood, countless lives lost. Her features were cold and indifferent, with a demonic aura surrounding her, giving her a fearsome, almost supernatural presence.

A subordinate followed closely, urging her to withdraw. She appeared young and frail, but could command powerful warriors on the battlefield—her background was clearly extraordinary. Her name was Zhao Xiuyan, a Dao child of the Yan Yang Realm. Her father was a deputy leader of the Zheng Yi Alliance and the master of the Zhou Mie Prefecture.

Though her lineage was strong, Zhao Xiuyan often risked herself at the frontlines, honing her combat skills by taking lives, unafraid of death. This audacity impressed and terrified many in the Zheng Yi Alliance.

“Next time, she might not be so lucky,” Zhao Xiuyan said to herself, watching the distant battlefield before vanishing from the star field.

“She’s a formidable opponent. The young talents of Zheng Yi Alliance shouldn’t be underestimated,” one gray-haired, gray-eyed girl remarked, her skin as pale as ice, eyes narrowed in vigilance.

“I underestimated her. Lost some ground, but next time will be different,” the gray-haired girl continued, her gaze steely.

“Miss Mu Yan, reinforcements have arrived. Shall we press the attack?” Asked a Dao-level subordinate respectfully.

Mu Yan shook her head. “Do not pursue the desperate. The Zheng Yi Alliance has suffered greatly; they will not surrender lightly. We only need to prepare for their counterattack.”

“Understood,” the subordinate replied and withdrew respectfully.

Mu Yan surveyed the vast starry sea, contemplating. “We must be ready for an unending war.”

Recently, the Fatian Alliance’s onslaught had been relentless, clearly intending to launch a final all-out war with the Zheng Yi Alliance. Figures like Mu Yan and Mo Tong were participating in battles across the realms, earning battle merits.

Outside this star field, Fatian’s armies surged across countless territories. Many Dao-level and even ancestral Dao-level existences appeared, leading troops, sweeping away enemies. Ordinary cultivators stood no chance unless the Zheng Yi leadership intervened.

Under this intense pressure, many border regions of the Zheng Yi Alliance had fallen. Commanders retreated, abandoning territories to consolidate at the Alliance’s center.

Although the Zheng Yi Alliance had a peace pact with the Dark Beings, they could not rely on them against Fatian. Even the Dark Beings faced attacks in their regions. Many civilizations feared Fatian’s intent to annihilate both Zheng Yi and Dark Beings.

In the current situation, only the Zheng Yi Alliance and the Dark Beings could oppose Fatian. Other forces were insufficient. Once Fatian removed these obstacles, no one would be able to resist them.

Some civilizations welcomed this, as it would keep the Dark Beings in check, but also feared Fatian’s growing dominance. Within a few millennia, Fatian could sweep across Cangmang, leaving no force capable of challenging them.

Many civilizations hoped for balance and checks, rather than one hegemon. The fall of Zheng Yi would remove the last check on Fatian’s power.

At the Fatian-Zheng Yi border, instability was rife. Many groups and cultivators fled to avoid the conflict. Fatian’s armies continued to arrive, and the Zheng Yi border was fortified with countless Dao-level existences and ancestral Dao-level treasures. Ancient powers gathered, preparing for imminent war.

Previously, the Zheng Yi Alliance avoided direct confrontation. Now, with such resolve, many speculated the Zheng Yi leadership had decided to face Fatian head-on.

At Tianming Ancient City, near the border, a city of vast history and strategic importance, three ancient families once ruled. Their ancestral Dao-level figures maintained the city’s foundation. However, with the Fatian-Zheng Yi war encroaching, the families relocated, leaving the city desolate.

Raucous cries filled the air as three blazing suns rose at the horizon, drawing near Tianming. Each sun carried a golden crow pulling an ornate carriage. Behind them surged waves of demonic energy and an endless army, iron cavalry crushing all in their path, flags waving, earth trembling—a terrifying, overwhelming spectacle.

“The Demon Court’s army has arrived. Leading them is the current Demon Emperor, a trusted subordinate of the Fatian Alliance, the main force behind the annihilation of Xian Chuhao,” observers whispered.

The presence of the Demon Court signaled that the final battle between Fatian and Zheng Yi was inevitable. In a few days, multiple divisions of Fatian forces had arrived. Other factions sent reinforcements, all gathering near Tianming Ancient City.

Elsewhere, similar scenes unfolded. Fatian troops converging from all directions, aiming to encircle and subjugate the Zheng Yi Alliance.
