I Am the Fated Villain

Chapter 1760

Chapter 1760. The Dawn of a New Era? The Primordial Beings

All the civilizations of the True Realms were watching and speculating. At this moment, no one dared to intervene recklessly.

In the domains now occupied by the Dark Beings, countless terrifying gazes pierced through space and time, fixating on the unfolding war. Even many reclusive clans that had already retreated from the world felt stunned and shaken.

The era had changed. It was no longer the time of dazzling stars, fierce competition among races, and the careful balance among the civilizations of the True Realms. Neither the Fatian Alliance nor the Zhengyi Alliance were just ordinary powers—they had grown far beyond typical supreme True Realms. At this moment, no single clan or civilization could challenge such terrifying forces.

After this war ended, the entire Vast Expanse would likely usher in a new era. After all, looking back at countless eras since the birth of the Vast Expanse, how many forces had ever reached such a level? In ancient times, the emergence of a power comparable to the Zhengyi Alliance would be enough to shock the entire Vast Expanse and make all races and True Realm civilizations wary and fearful.

Not to mention today, with the Fatian Alliance, the Zhengyi Alliance, and the Dark Beings standing in a three-way balance of power. This was almost surreal, incredibly improbable, and yet coincidentally aligned. Without the resurgence of the Dark Beings, the formation of the Zhengyi Alliance would have been impossible. Everything seemed as if it had been preordained. It was as if an invisible hand had been orchestrating it all.

At that moment, no clan or civilization could remain detached as before. The entire situation in the Vast Expanse was becoming turbulent and unpredictable because of the war between the Fatian Alliance and the Zhengyi Alliance. No one knew if the next day the flames of war might sweep over their lands. The annihilation of clans and their extinction seemed trivial in comparison—entire universes could silently vanish without a trace.

At the Fatian Alliance headquarters, a towering spire of unparalleled grandeur rose into the sky, stretching countless tens of thousands of zhang. Boundless radiance enveloped it, with swirling nebula-like mists surrounding the tower. Within those nebula-like substances floated worldlets, life-orbs circling each other, colliding with resonant rumbling, as if the worlds themselves were turning.

Around the tower, shadowy and terrifying figures could vaguely be seen. Each was massive, godlike in stature, clad in golden armor, holding weapons, guarding the surroundings. They were concealed in the void, radiating a terrifying aura that made one’s heart tremble.

Along the jade steps leading to the tower, clouds swirled and colorful lights shimmered, with countless figures moving about, their faces full of excitement and anticipation. However, due to protective array formations, the identities of those passing could not be discerned.

This was the War Merit Tower, painstakingly built by the Fatian Alliance at immense cost. It had eighty-one levels, each an independent cosmic domain, vast and limitless, inscribed with countless complex arrays. Any member of the Fatian Alliance could wield a War Merit Token to enter the tower and exchange their merits for opportunities.

From Daoist treasures, heavenly techniques, forbidden arts, to rare manuscripts, divine medicines, sacred weapons, celestial materials, and minerals—everything conceivable across the world could be obtained. Within the Fatian Alliance, there was a saying: if a cultivator could imagine it, it could be exchanged for in the War Merit Tower. Even those in the Daoist Ancestor Realm longed for the treasures within.

This alone illustrates the depth and richness of the tower. Since the founding of the Fatian Alliance, it had conquered countless territories of the Vast Expanse, absorbing the accumulated legacies of civilizations, True Realms, clans, and sects over countless eras. All this heritage was now openly placed in the War Merit Tower by the Alliance Leader, accessible to members through war merit exchange.

When the tower was first established, it caused immense sensation. Every cultivator of the Fatian Alliance was shocked, for this act was akin to opening the granaries and revealing all treasures publicly. The accumulated legacies of clans and sects were considered heirlooms and prized possessions, never casually shown, let alone made accessible to all. The Alliance Leader’s magnanimity was beyond common comprehension.

Many civilizations of the True Realms were equally astonished upon learning this, some even wishing to join the Fatian Alliance just to gain access to the tower. Since its construction, the tower has indeed played a significant role: every member craved its divine treasures and competed fiercely in battles to accumulate merits.

Even those who had followed Alliance Leader Gu Changge for a long time—such as Zuo Fengxie of the Zuo Clan, Hun Yuanjun of the Hun Clan, and the Spirit Emperor of Lingxu True Realm—were engaging in battles and completing missions to earn merits. Only those who truly entered the tower could understand the immensity of its treasures; even describing them as “brilliant as stars, as countless as river sands” fell short.

Over the years, the Alliance Leader not only built the War Merit Tower but also ordered senior members to gather scholars from various clans, collect rare records, and compile a grand canon. No one truly knew the Leader’s intent: to wage wars and expand territories while collecting knowledge—was it truly to open a new era?

“Even I nearly lost myself amidst its wonders, forgetting the duties I bear. Who knows how many more treasures remain to be discovered inside…” A cold, elegant woman in black murmured as she carefully closed an ancient scripture she had been engrossed in. The crowds and chaos around her made her smile wryly. Even she had nearly been distracted by the tower’s treasures, let alone others.

The Ji Chan Clan, celebrated as the chroniclers of the cosmos, possessed immeasurable archives. Yet within the Fatian Alliance War Merit Tower, she found records that fascinated her. She had taken on numerous missions, exchanging accumulated war merits for these texts, nearly forgetting her original purpose for being there.

“My clan’s fate still depends on me. My elder sister’s situation is unknown, and Xiao Jiu has gone to appease the Grand High Priest—likely to face humiliation…” She sighed at having spent her hard-earned merits on these texts instead of her true mission.

She composed herself, carefully storing the texts, her cold, stern demeanor restored. Before joining the Fatian Alliance, she believed that with her strength, meeting Gu Changge would be simple. But after joining, she realized even high-ranking members struggled to secure an audience. For an outsider like her, only by amassing sufficient merits could she gain the chance, and even then, it depended on fate. Yet, she had to try to earn enough merits to possibly improve the situation of the

Ji Chan Clan in the Ancient Tibetan Civilization.

Because of the nature of the True Realm, the Ancient Tibetan Civilization held a unique status, remaining largely untouched even amidst turmoil. Neither the Dark Beings nor the Zhengyi Alliance had interfered with it, but the Fatian Alliance was different—unrestrained, merciless, and even they feared provoking it. Thus, her only chance to influence her clan’s fate was here.

“I knew this war would inevitably break out. The Fatian Alliance Leader’s ambitions are vast, not limited to the Vast Expanse alone… The Zhengyi Alliance also has hidden backers, though they have yet to appear. I wonder if it might be an old acquaintance from before.”

Meanwhile, in a vast, primordial world full of greenery and raw life, a tall, heroic man stood on a cliff, clouds swirling, chaotic energy twisting around him as if in the pre-creation primeval realm. Before him, bubbles of matter formed, crystal-clear mirrors reflecting the Vast Expanse, each revealing mysterious and extraordinary phenomena.

“You have now reforged your body. When will you fulfill the compendium of transcendence I was promised?”

A breathtaking woman in a golden gown appeared across the cliff, her gaze cold.

“I promised to give you the compendium, and I will. But when besieged by formidable enemies, I left a portion hidden in my abode as a decoy. The true compendium is elsewhere…” The man smiled faintly, his eyes deep, golden light flickering, showing visions of chaos, universe collapse, creation, and void.

The woman frowned. “If so, why haven’t you allowed me to leave the Eternal Divine Clan’s domain?”

“I feared you might reveal my location after leaving. I staged my death and left relics precisely for this purpose. I am only keeping you in the clan’s lands, not restricting your freedom. You once pretended to be the clan’s saintess; what harm is it if you remain?” The man chuckled.

The woman’s brows knitted tighter, her eyes full of cold disdain. She never expected the Eternal Primordial God to honor his promises. She had watched him rebuild his body from weakness to unfathomable power within mere years. She suspected the “compendium” rumors were intentionally leaked, a ruse to mislead enemies and survive countless eras.

A being from the Primordial Era, setting such a vast scheme in motion—what was he truly after? And who were his enemies? Were they even real, or just his narrative?

“You are certain your enemies still exist? Since the birth of the Vast Expanse, with hidden laws, multiple calamities, cosmic reckonings, all civilizations endure tribulations. Could your foes truly survive all such purges and remain alive?” The woman asked coldly.

The Eternal Primordial God smiled faintly, unperturbed. “You underestimate me. My enemies are far from simple. They are beyond the comprehension of post-natal beings such as yourself.”

She continued, “Then why did you have to feign death to survive?”

The God spoke with nostalgia, “At the end of the Primordial Era, before heaven and earth were divided, when the clear and turbid energies still coexisted, the Vast Expanse had yet to emerge. Back then, the world was infinite chaos—boundless, directionless, rootless…”
