Chapter 1 – Southern Island
Part 1
“We’re here, this is Halwa Island!”
Lexia spread her arms towards the shining sea.
After that, the group crossed the sea and arrived at a small island in the southern ocean──Halwa Island.
“Wow, so this is the southern island… so beautiful!”
Tito’s eyes light up at the sight before her.

“The sea is beautiful, it’s quiet, and it seems like the perfect place for a private getaway for a couple of hot newlyweds! We have that boat owner to thank!”
Halwa Island has also been called the “Mysterious Island” because it retains its prehistoric nature.
The island is rich in nature and full of charm, but it is too far away to be a tourist destination, and there are no boats available.
However, Lexia heard a rumor and asked the owner of the boat, “We want to go to ‘Mysterious Island’!” Then he replied, “Oh, well, this is a request from some very cute girls. I’ll give you a special ride!” He gladly took them to Halwa Island.

Luna and Tito attacked immediately.
“Spiral!”
“Fierce Claws!”
Luna released a bundle of strings, and Tito swung her claws out sharply.
The vacuum wave created by the drilled strings and sharp claws rushed towards the monster.
But just before the attack reached the monster.
“O wave, be a shield!”
Zappaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
Just as the girl’s voice echoed interestingly, the wave surged up and absorbed the attack of the two.
“What?”
“T-The wave moved like a living creature and blocked our attack…!”
“What’s going on? And what was that voice…?”
Lexia looked around for the owner of the voice and spotted a shadow standing on a rocky shore a short distance away.
“! That girl is…!”
There was a girl.
Her hair was as bright green as the ocean before her, and her eyes were the same color as the ocean.
An aura of bright blue rose from her slender body.
“O wave, subside!”
The girl held out her hand to the waves, and the waves that had been standing like a wall calmed down.
“Hey, could that be…?”
“Is that girl… the one controlling the waves…?”
“Kyuu, kyuuuii!”
While Lexia and the others watched in shock, the monster swam over to the girl and squealed happily.
The girl stroked the monster gently, leaning against its long neck as if to pet it.
“I told you not to come to the beach. I’ll play with you later, just wait for me offshore.”
“Kyuuuii~!”
The monster shouted in response and swam out to sea, shaking its shiny fins just as the girl had told it to.
“A-amazing, it’s like she’s talking to a monster…!”
“Who in the world is she──”
The girl climbed down from the rock and rushed to the horrified Lexia and the others.
“Sorry to startle you. She’s a little mischievous, but she’s not a bad child.”
She has tanned skin and long, shiny hair. The girl’s face was a bit mature, but she had a gentle smile on her face.
The girl turned her green eyes to the monster’s dorsal fin, which was moving away from her.
“That child is a monster called a sea dragon. She loves humans and is said to be the guardian deity of this island. She thought you were her new playmates and got a little playful with you.”
“So that’s how it was! I was so surprised that she just wanted to play with us, and I’m sorry we did that.”
“It’s amazing that you can communicate with a monster!”
The girl’s eyes narrowed happily at the reaction of Lexia and the others.
“You girls don’t seem afraid. I’m always wary of newcomers, no matter how much I try to explain to them…”
“Ara, I’ve seen many monsters that are friendly to humans. For example, the Sahar Camel and the Flower Weasel!”

The girl nodded at Luna’s question.

The girl smiled happily and tucked her long hair behind her ear.
“I’m sorry it took me so long to introduce myself. My name is Giselle.”
“Giselle, what a beautiful name! I’m Lexia!”
“My name is Luna.”
“My name is Tito!”
“Lexia-san, Luna-san, Tito-san. Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too! Hey, your spirit art is so beautiful! Can you show me more?”
Giselle tilted her head at Lexia, whose eyes lit up.
“Of course! But I still wonder. People outside the island are scared when they see this power…”
“Ara, I’m not surprised. The three of us have traveled to many countries and met many people!”
“Oh, you traveled all by the three of you?”
“Yes, we’ve been to the desert, the empires of the north, and the great powers of the east!”

Giselle chanted some more.
“O wind, be clothed with heat!”
The wind, carrying the heat of the flames, gently enveloped Lexia.
The wet clothes dried instantly.
“Eehhhh!? My clothes dried in an instant!”
“Is this also a spirit art…?”
“Yes, it is.”
“It’s a mysterious power… different from magic, to really control nature at will.”
Giselle beamed at Lexia and the others, who were impressed.
She hesitated for a moment and then interjected with restraint.

Lexia immediately leaned forward with a twinkle in her eye.
“First of all, I want to buy a swimsuit! It’s the southern islands and I want to play in the sea as much as possible!”
“Then I’ll take you to town. This way!”
So, Lexia and the others decided to enjoy the southern island with Giselle, a girl who possessed a mysterious power.
