Chapter 3 – Alien Beast
Part 1
Under a sky where three blue evil stars twinkle.
“So this is where the alien beast is holed up…”
Lexia stared into the crater, choking on the hot air.
After that, Lexia and the others had climbed up Mount Aurea and were standing at the top of the mountain.
The crater was so hot that even the surrounding landscape seemed to be boiling.
Giselle protected the four of them with a film of wind through her spiritual art, but even through the film of wind, the searing heat could be felt.
“Ugh, it’s so hot…!”
“If we were in the flesh, I wouldn’t be surprised if we vaporized in an instant.”
“To think that Giselle could have sacrificed herself in such a horrible place… It’s unforgivable!”
Giselle, also pale, clears her throat as she looks at the crater of rising heat.
“Is there really a beast from another planet in here…?”
“Come out, alien beast! We are the ones against you!”
Lexia’s voice was full of interest.
As if in response to her voice, the ground shook, and a roar rang out as if to break the sky.
Rumble, rumble, rumble…!
Lava shot up from the bottom of the hole.
“It’s coming!”
Luna’s voice signaled the four to brace themselves.
And then…
“Ggwaaaaaaaaaaah!”
With a ripping roar, a beast appeared.
“That’s the alien beast…!”
It was a lion clad in black stone, leaping out of the crater.
“Grrrrrrrrrr…!”
It had a body as huge as an ox.
Thick, sturdy limbs and a mane that blazed with fire.
Lava dripped from between its sharp tusks, melting the surface of the rock.
“Ggahhhhhhhhh!”
The rock beast roared and kicked the ground with a mighty kick.
“Dodge!”
A moment later, the lion’s forelimb swung out and…
Bang!
The huge rock in its path was instantly shattered.
“W-what kind of power is that…?”
Giselle let out a convulsive scream as she witnessed the mighty force.
“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…!”
Luna held up her string in front of the lion, who bared his fangs wildly.
“I see. This killing intent is comparable to Emperor Fang’s… or maybe even a bit more.”
“But it’s no match for us!”
Lexia also scoffed as she looked at the deformed beast.
“Yes! I don’t know if it’s a beast from another planet or what, but I’m going to settle this right here! Everyone, I’m counting on you!”
“Yes! Let’s go, Tito! Boisterous Dance!”
“Yes! Fierce Claws!”
Lexia’s signal was followed by Luna and Tito leaping out of the way.
A flurry of strings and vacuum blades rushed out, slicing into the rock face and closing in on the rock lions.
“Gugigigigi!”
The lion jumped back to avoid the attack and took a deep breath.
“Ggahhhhhhhhh!”
Swosh!
Burning flames erupted from its bright red mouth.
But before the flames could reach Luna and Tito, Giselle cried out,
“O wind, blow!”
In response to Giselle’s voice, a gust of wind erupted, scattering the fire attack.
“Ggahgah!”
“Thank you, Giselle!”
“Yes!”
“Gyagya, gya…!”
Tito shouted triumphantly to the terrified beast whose attack had been neutralized.
“We don’t have to fear the flames!”
“We have Giselle here! Now, let’s all go in at once!”
“Yes!”
Luna and Tito attacked with a ferocious charge.
“Ggahhhhhh!”
Giselle was stunned by the furious exchange.
“It’s amazing, both Luna-san and Tito-san are even stronger than they were in the jungle…! That means they weren’t at their strongest even then…!”
“We’ve fought much more vicious opponents in the past! The alien beast is nothing compared to them!”
“Gaaaahhhh!”
The lion dived down to strike back.
At that moment, Giselle placed her hand on the ground and cried out.
“O earth, be the shackles!”
Gogagagaga!
“Gyaaa, gya…!”
Immediately, the rocks at the beast’s feet rose up and caught its limbs.
Luna and Tito’s attacks exploded in that direction.
“I’m sorry, but I won’t let you have your way in this world.”
“This is the end!”
“Boisterous Dance!”
“Claw Concert!”
Strings and claws intertwined.
A storm of sharp slashes rips through the rock beast.
Boom!
“Ggyaaaaaaaah!”
A convulsive scream echoes through the twilight sky.
The beast collapsed onto its side, turned into a black, tar-like liquid, and dissolved into the earth.
“We did it; we defeated the alien beast!”
Lexia took Giselle’s hand and jumped up and down.
“We stopped the eruption of Mount Aurea! We saved the world!”
“Y-yeah…!”
Giselle nodded with a somewhat stunned expression at the excited Lexia.
But Luna raised her eyebrows.
“That’s strange. It was strangely unresponsive.”
“Yes, it was easier to beat than I thought…”
Tito also put her ears down in concern.
No matter how strong Luna and Tito were, it was too easy, considering it was an enemy that attacked from another planet and had the power to destroy the world.
“It was certainly as strong or stronger than the Kaiser Fang… but is that really the extent of a beast from another planet…?”
But Lexia brushed her blonde hair away with a graceful movement and arched her back.
“That’s fine, it must have been weakened by being contained for so long! Anyway, this settles the matter! Giselle no longer needs to be sacrificed, and the world is protected!”
“I never thought this day would come… Everyone, thank you so much…!”
Giselle thanked them with tears in her eyes.
But then.
Rumble… rumble, rumble!
The Aurea Mountains began to make an eerie rumbling sound.
The ground shook as if a huge beast was thrashing about.
“W-what is this shaking?”
“It’s stronger than before…!”
“Don’t tell me it’s volcanic activity…? Why… we defeated the alien beast…!”
They kneeled down and endured the violent shaking.
The center of the shaking was clearly the crater.
“Oh, look!”
Tito suddenly pointed overhead.
Looking up at the night sky, she saw three evil stars that were a terrible red.
“The stars were red…?”
“Whaa… they were definitely blue a few moments ago…!”
“That’s strange; instead of disappearing, the evil star turned red… I have a bad feeling──”
A cold feeling of foreboding ran through the backs of the four of them.
Rumble, rumble, rumble…!
An ominous sound roared from the crater.
And then, out of the eyes of the four suspicious souls, it emerged from the bottom of the lava.
“O-o-ooooooooooooohhhhhhh!”
“!?”
“Wha…? What is that hand…!”
Suddenly, it rose into the sky, a huge hand formed from boiling lava.
“What in the world is that…?”
“O-ooohhhhh…!”
An ominous roar came from the depths of the crater, and the hand, huge enough to crush a small village in a single stroke, moved about as if searching for something.
It looked like a lava giant struggling to crawl out of the crater.
And then, as if the giant’s hand had targeted the four stunned people standing there, it tried to crush them all at once.
“Kyaaaaaaaaaahhh!”
Luna and Tito, with screaming Giselle and Lexia at their backs for protection, immediately intercepted the attack.
“Boisterous Dance!”
“Fierce Claws!”
Sharp strings and vacuum waves fly wildly.
However.
“Whaa…!”
“Oooohhhhhhhh!”
The giant’s hand cut off the attack with a single slash.
“T-the attack doesn’t work…!”
“No way…!”
In front of the four horrified people, the giant’s hand grabbed the edge of the crater.
Lava erupted from the crater, and a giant face emerged from the crater.
“That’s…──!”
“A lava titan…?”
“Oooohhhhh!”
It was a gigantic face made of lava, staring at Lexia and the others with muddy eyes.
“Ooooooooooooooooooooooohh…!”
The titan let out a sky-shattering roar and reached out to the four of them as if to crush an insect in its path.
“Lexia, Giselle, run! We’ll buy you time! ──Spiral!”
“Whirlwind Claws!”
Luna and Tito unleash their skills.
But the lava hand easily crushes them.
“O-oh…”
“Kuh, that’s no good. It didn’t even budge…! We’re retreating, Tito!”
“Yes!”
“Oooohhhhhhhh!”
Luna tries to jump back with Lexia and Tito with Giselle, but the giant hand closes in even faster than before.
“No, we’ll all be crushed…!”
Just as Lexia screamed, a shadow appeared in the sky above her with a high-pitched scream.
“Kueeeeeeeeeeeeee!”
“Don’t you dare lay your hands on my precious disciple!”
“! That voice is…!”
As soon as the imposing voice rang out, the four of them reflexively fell to the ground.
At the same time, a person jumped down from the bird-like monster.
The person’s arms were covered with white light in the air, and she struck down the hand directly below her with all her might.
“Take this──Thunder Roaring Claws!”
Boom!
“O-ooooohhhhh…!”
A pillar of pure white light erupts into the twilight sky.
Bathed in a torrent of tremendous power, the lava hand crumbled into a heap.
The surrounding rocks also collapse into the ground.
“W-what a power…!”
“This is… this light is…!”
Tito’s eyes widen.
The figure landed lightly in front of Tito’s eyes.
She turned, shook her sleek black tail, and laughed.
“Looks like I got here just in time.”
