Chapter 487: Maggie’s First Touch Awakens Her

Chapter 487: Maggie’s First Touch Awakens Her

Maggie gave no reaction, even though I’d just blurted the words right out. With unwavering confidence I had said the most dangerous thing a man could say to a woman who’d burned people at the pyre without batting an eye.

And here I stood, ready to deal with the consequences.

I’d braced myself, prepared to spend the last scraps of my essence on Feather Step and vanish before she could so much as blink.

And yet there she stood, watching me. She tilted her head to the right, then to the left.

“Fuck… me?”

A hostile frown folded her brows.

“Do you take me for a nun with a brain the size of a pea, like your whore?”

A frown formed on my face too, and I rebuked her at once.

“I can take anything, but I won’t take an insult on Kassie. This is about survival, Maggie. Survival. Treat it as such.”

She folded her arms across her chest.

“I know you… even if you were dying, you wouldn’t fuck me.”

I tilted my head back, taken aback, because…

“Uh… I think you’ve got the wrong person, Maggie. I’ve been dying before, and I fucked someone all the same. Now, she’s hotter than you are, of course — but you do have a non-negligible ass, and to be honest, if it takes me to my death, I’ll still tap that. My only regret will be not getting to tap you and Kassie at the same time.”

She frowned.

It took me a moment to place that frown, and when I did, I went still, and my heart began to pound.

‘She’s… confused?’

All at once it made sense, her strange response.

‘Is she mistaking the word fuck for something else entirely? How in the world could that be possible?’

Sex. Fuck. Those weren’t words that could easily mean anything other than what they meant. At least, I’d always believed so. And if they did mean something else to a Grand Inquisitor who’d lived eight thousand years ago, then I had a feeling I ought to be very concerned about the ways of the church, and about the things they said to one another.

I stared at Maggie, and found myself in a far more difficult situation than before.

You know, it was already no easy thing to tell someone you’re sure will kill you — or at least burn you to death’s door — that you want to fuck them. Now imagine the difficulty of having to explain the context of the word first, and then telling them it’s exactly what you want to do to them.

It would take an indestructible gut to pull that off.

And that was the one thing I didn’t have.

Luckily for me, though…

‘Crazy people don’t need guts, hahahaha…’

I laid a hand on her shoulder and spoke in my most noble tone.

“Maggie, I think your church has misled you badly when it comes to your language, and what words are truly for.”

Even as I held her shoulder with the one hand, the other was already working my trousers loose.

“So you see, Maggie, the human body is unique. Yours is unique, and so is mine.”

She looked at me, blank but hanging on every word, which was almost weird in itself. I tried not to think about the gaze and just locked in.

“Now, many think the heart is what keeps the body running. But actually, what keeps it running isn’t the heart at all. It’s something else. Down here.”

I yanked my trousers down as I spoke. And then a reinforced alloy rod sprang free.

“Don’t freak out now… this is perfectly normal. My size might scare you, but I promise, it’s not as bad as it looks.”

Unfortunately for me, though, she just kept staring. Unfazed. She looked at my rod without batting an eye, or any other part of her, for that matter. Not a muscle in her face shifted, and her folded arms stayed exactly where she’d set them.

‘Okay, now I’m starting to get offended.’

I tried to look past the embarrassment. I’d been crowned king of shamelessness, and there was no way a little thing like this would put me down.

“So you see, you have something like this too.”

She gave me a disgusted look.

“No, I don’t. Why would I have something so bent, so grotesque as that?”

“See, it’s not exactly like this. Hey — and do you even know what this is?! It’s an insult to call it grotesque, Maggie! This is the peak of creation, the whole point of living. It’s the most thoughtful thing anyone ever thought to add to a creation. Without it, living would’ve been hollow. And mine — this thing you’re looking at — is better than a horse’s, I tell you.”

I cleared my throat.

“Let’s not go too far off topic. What I mean is, yours works in such a way that this can actually fit into yours. Like a puzzle piece, slotting perfectly together.”

She stared at me blankly for a moment, then twisted her face up even worse than before.

“Hey, why are you looking at it like that… maybe you should try touching it, for a change of heart!”

She looked indifferent, unconcerned by the request, so I just grabbed her hand. Grinning like the shameless freak I was, I wrapped her fingers around it.

Her fingers were cold enough to raise the hair along my arm, but somehow soothing where they closed, and a rush of excitement went off through my whole body. What I didn’t expect, though, was Maggie’s reaction.

She went rigid, her breath catching somewhere in her throat, those cold fingers gone stiff around me. Her hand didn’t leave my shaft. If anything it tightened, knuckles whitening as it gripped harder.

But the most shocking change was lower down: two enormous dots rising to push against the front of her habit.

“Ow, ow — you’re gripping too damn hard, Maggie, let me go!”

She glared at me.

“No. I refuse. Something strange happened to me the moment I touched this. Something is wrong with me. Something I have never felt before.”

She turned her gaze slowly down to what she was holding.

And a vicious, hungry light kindled in the depths of her eyes.
