Chapter 483: The Ship of Hope?
Chapter 483: The Ship of Hope?
{??? POV}
In the dead of night, thunder roared as golden streaks of electricity snaked through the clouds.
Rain poured profusely, landing on a humongous metal vessel that rode over the turbulent waves of the sea.
It was a ship put together with countless scraps of metal.
It was a ship run on steam and machinery to push through the crashing waves and was armed to the teeth with countless fixed weapons, ranging from machine guns to cannons to even large-scale artillery.
It was a ship far larger than any blue whale or battleship known to man; it was a mobile fortress that was roughly 600 metres long, 300 metres wide, and 120 metres tall—a behemoth that shouldn’t be able to float on water.
And yet, it managed to. Not because it could, but because it needed to; for its purpose was to hold up the hopes and dreams of those who resided in its walls.
Its name?
This mobile fortress’s name was—
"Captain, Noah’s Ark will be entering the Sinking Sea in an hour."
—Noah’s Ark.
But it also went by a different name, the Ship of Hope.
The ship that was built solely to house 50% of the remaining population of humanity during the Third Epoch was entering the Sinking Sea, the leviathan’s territory and also... The Drowned King’s territory.
But it wasn’t alone, for on its left and right, front and back, were four heavily armoured fleets—guarding it from all sides.
And the names for these fleets were: The Leviathan Drowners, the Kingcrab Snappers, the Seagull Brigade, and lastly, the Blackbeard Cutlass.
"Arr... Is that so?"
Surrounded by his crew members, the Captain of the Blackbeard Cutlass began to walk forward, watching as those on his ship parted out of his way.
He was a tall man—6ft4—and looked the part of every stereotypical pirate. He had a black eyepatch, a peg leg, a metal hook in place of his right hand, and a large, messy black beard. And strapped around the right side of his waist was a cutlass.
His name was...
"Captain Righthook, I believe in just a few minutes, we’ll be entering the territory of the much more powerful leviathans soon."
The Captain stopped at the bow of his ship and looked to his left, finding a man with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a rather sharp jawline next to him—this was the Captain’s second in command; his vice.
And compared to his Captain, who dressed carelessly, he was dressed in a clean and proper manner; he looked like a typical noble, if such a thing existed in this current era.
The Captain laughed at what he heard:
"KAHAHA! Is that so, matey!?" He stroked his hook through his beard, "Arr... Well, we’d better prepare then! Those irritating Seagulls said there was an island right at the centre of the Sinking Sea. What was its name again, Vulcrum?"
The blonde-haired man summoned a staff made of twisting wood and hummed a bit, "The Three Temple Island is what they called it."
"AH! That’s right, yar have my gratitude, my vice. It has been months since I saw a piece of land and on that has yet to be raided!" The Captain then paused for a moment before asking:
"How many criminals have yar got for that power of yars?"
"Hm... Over three hundred. It seemed our journey to the Sinking Sea caused those on Noah’s Ark to revolt a bit. Fortunately, our Wavers were able to take care of the problem without any issues."
"KAHAHA! I had heard a commotion there as well!" The Captain gave a bellowing laugh before raising his foot and placing it on the metal rails of his ship’s bow. "How long has it been since we entered this part of the ocean?"
"About a decade, Captain."
"Yes, that sounds right... Hopefully, we won’t lose another one of our captains." Captain Righthook then grinned broadly as he watched something rise from the water in front of his ship.
A humongous draconic serpent. Long snout, dark stone-like scales, mana radiating off its body... This was a Leviathan. And the amount only continued to rise.
One, two, three, four...
There were at least 10 Leviathans blocking their path.
Seeing this, Captain Righthook cackled loudly before unsheathing his cutlass.
"ALL BLESSEDS ON DECK! PREPARE FOR BATTLE!"

After an intense night yesterday, morning soon arrived. The sun was shining and there were barely any clouds in sight, allowing everyone to admire the beautiful blue sky above.
However, that wasn’t something everyone was thinking about doing.
The moment Lillian woke up, she was immediately met with questions from everyone. They seemed to have made the Beach Lord’s arena their temporary camp during the night.
The question they asked was something like this: Was she alright? Was she feeling better? Was there anything she needed to talk about?
"W-well..."
These sorts of questions made her feel rather shy, but also extremely appreciative about how much they cared.
And the moment she calmed everyone down... She was then met with scoldings from Viesta.
"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?" Viesta shouted like an enraged and protective mother, walking back and forth in front of Lillian, who sat cross-legged with a guilty look on her face.
"You could have just stayed somewhere safe and calmed down, but no~... You just had to fight another one of these things! You almost died this time, this time closer than the last time!"
Lillian smiled wryly at the last part of Viesta’s sentence. She really has been putting herself through some unnecessary dangers, huh?
’Well... I think I’m feeling a lot better now, at least...’
It was all worth it in the end since she had now finally acquired the awakened Regular Cutlass.

It was definitely a good weapon due to its [Curse Imbuement] and [Desperate Resolve] enchantments, but Lillian wasn’t planning on using it. Since she already had...
