I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 492: Under Pressure?

Chapter 492: Under Pressure?

SWIP!

"Ugh—!"

Leaning to the side, Lillian managed to avoid a stab to the head by the water harpoon.

The Drowned King stared down at her and watched as she initiated a counterattack, which he so easily dodged.

Lillian watched as the man followed the swing of her sword with his eyes, as though he was analysing it before stabbing at her again in retaliation.

[11:55 AM]

For six minutes, the two of them did nothing but swing their weapons, dodge, or block each other’s strikes.

Since the Drowned King’s throw earlier, he had yet to reveal any more of his techniques. And Lillian wasn’t sure if it was just her or...

SWIP!

She felt as though the Drowned King was moving a tad bit slower.

Lillian leaned her head to the side, dodging the harpoon, which caused a shallow red cut on her cheek to appear.

He was obviously going for the killing moves, but for some reason... She felt as if he was moving intentionally slower, as though he was stalling for something...

"[1st Technique of the Deep Sea Hunter: Tidebreaker Slash]!"

Swinging her blade and summoning an illusory crashing wave, Lillian watched as the Drowned King swiftly stepped to the side, dodging it as his gaze followed her swing.

Lillian looked into his eyes and instantly came to a realisation. With each attack she made, the Drowned King would always look to see how she moved.

Could it be he was studying her the entire time? Could it be he had noticed that both her and the Captain were using the same Combat Style and was now looking to figure out the weaknesses through her!?

That was the reason for his strange, slow behaviours!

’Even at 30% of your original power, you’re still this dangerous!’

At this realisation, Lillian reluctantly held off from using the Deep Sea Hunter combat style, resorting to only using unnamed attacks.

[11:58 AM]

The Drowned King slashed upwards with his harpoon, managing to strike the centre of Lillian’s chestplate.

What should’ve been an attack that would be enough to crack open Lillian’s chestplate only caused a long, diagonal, and shallow slash to appear.

The coral on the chestplate wriggled around, clearly in displeasure.

With a face covered in cuts, Lillian swung her scythe—which radiated an unusual heat—at the Drowned King, and watched as it was parried without any issues.

However, right as the Drowned King was about to retaliate—

BOOM!

—A volcanic explosion occurred at the moment he parried her attack.

This was the scythe’s enchantment—[Rupturefall]!

With this sudden attack of hers, Lillian managed to knock back, not only herself, but even the Drowned King, who hadn’t suspected such an attack!

Thrown through the air by the explosion, Lillian managed to flip around and land on another newly-created platform. She then looked towards her previous location and found it shrouded in black smoke, a product of her scythe.

Glancing away from it, she shot a curious look towards the distance, witnessing the sight of a man combating against a humongous twin-headed serpent of the sea on his own.

’He’s still fighting.’

Although she noticed that he was having some mild difficulties fighting, she was ultimately glad that he was still able to fight after the blow he sustained.

Grimacing at the sounds of the deathly whisper in the back of her mind—because of the scythe—Lillian funnelled her mana into her earring; the Drowned Leviathan Earring.

The Drowned King, having been knocked back, exited from the black smoke before instantly regaining himself. The spiritual flames on his body shifted before returning to their original position.

Looking back at the giant smoke cloud before him, he raised his water harpoon and made a casual slashing motion with it.

Swish...!

Cleaving through the thick cloud of smoke, he was able to settle his gaze on Lillian, whose earring was glowing a scorching blue light. He had also noticed something sprouting from her back.

Two things, to be exact.

SWOOSH! x 2

With the dispersion of the black smoke, it also revealed two plasmatic heads similar in appearance to the heads of his mount. His eyes widened slightly before narrowing instantly.

[12:00 AM]

The moment the two heads reached him, he had already moved into a swinging motion.

SWISH.

With a single swing of his harpoon, he destroyed the two heads in milliseconds. Although at the cost, the water harpoon he wielded evaporated into steam, escaping his hand.

But that wasn’t an issue, especially with what he was about to do.

Lillian, feeling the loss of control over the heads, scowled.

Too fragile!

As Lillian was about to move onto her next move, the Drowned King appeared before her with obscene speed.

Shocked by the sudden appearance, Lillian accidentally summoned a fresh corpse of a monster from her spatial ring—out of reflex.

It was the corpse of a large tiger-like beast.

Not only her, but also the Drowned King was surprised.

The Drowned King, seeing the obstacle in his way, pulled back his arm and stabbed it through the side of the corpse—his arm exiting the other side and grabbing Lillian by the neck.

Ripping the corpse in half with his other hand, the Drowned King held Lillian up by the neck—a chokehold. Lillian tried to pry herself free, but was inevitably unable to.

The Drowned King’s hand was cold despite the flame, the chilling temperature even going as far as reaching her soul and causing it to shiver as well.

Lillian grimaced as she felt the hand begin to tighten around her neck.

"D-damnit...!" Lillian hissed, locking eyes with the Drowned King, who stared at her coldly.

Gritting her teeth, Lillian glared at the man, but then... She began to smile.

The Drowned King, who was unusually taking his time to crush Lillian’s neck, watched as Lillian unsummoned her weapons and grabbed onto his arm.

Had she given up?

That was the thought of the Drowned King.

Her hold wasn’t one of a desperate person trying to break free, but one who had accepted their situation.

Deciding it was only right to put her down, the Drowned King tightened his grip. But then... He noticed something off about his spiritual visage.

Lillian, who was rather low in mana before, grinned broadly as she had coated her hands with her parasitic element. Not only was she leeching off of the man’s mana, but also... His soul.

She felt a warm sensation spread throughout her being, as well as feeling herself more cemented and mended with her existence. Was this... What healing her soul felt like?

Was there anything to heal at the start?

Lillian didn’t know, but what she did know was that... The Drowned King didn’t look too happy.

Summoning a harpoon of water into his other hand, he raised and aimed the tip towards Lillian’s face, intending to skewer her in one single strike.

[12:04 AM]

Lillian quickened, trying to drain the man of his spiritual energy, hoping he would let go. She knew plain attacks with her weapons wouldn’t do much, and she doubted she could block or dodge this stab he was about to do.

The Drowned King, noticing that Lillian had sped up her leeching, cringed in annoyance and thrusted his spear towards her head.

Seeing this, Lillian flinched and closed her eyes, moving her head away fearfully.

SPLASH!

...

Nothing came. No pain. No movements...

Lillian, slowly opening her eyes with a confused look, found the Drowned King looking back in the direction where his mount and the Captain were brawling.

While Lillian thought of a plan to escape, she looked at what the Drowned King was looking at as well; what had gotten his attention to cease his action?

The Twin-headed Seawater Leviathan, which was far off in the distance, roared as it battled something... Something of the same size as itself.

Dark pink tentacles, dozens of metres long, wrapped around the Leviathan, trying to strangle it before being severed by the jaws of the heads they were trying to strangle.

What Lillian was watching was no longer a battle between a giant two-headed sea serpent and a pirate.

But rather the battle between two humongous sea beasts!

[12:05 AM]

The Leviathan was fighting against a gigantic kraken!
