I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 498: Mana King?

Chapter 498: Mana King?

[12:31 AM]

Right before Lillian was about to lose her life and become crippled from using her Mana Core...

"YAR THINK I WOULD STAND ASIDE AND LET YAR KILL ONE OF MY CREWMATE?" The roar of a man in his twenties erupted from afar.

The Drowned King momentarily lifted his head, unfamiliar with the voice and intending to catch sight of a possible new invader of his Mana Realm.

And he did.

A petite man with black hair and streaks of blue stood in the distance, standing near what seemed to be the deceased body of his mount, with the kraken nowhere to be seen.

This surprised the Drowned King for a split second, to think his mount would be taken down by just an overgrown squid.

But that wasn’t the only thing that surprised him.

Flying towards him, presumably thrown by the petite man in the distance, was a flying piece of coral broken off from the coral roof.

Whistle...!

It whistled through the air, heading straight towards the Drowned King, who raised his water harpoon to swat it out of the air. But, the moment he swung his harpoon—

DUNG!

—He was met with resistance that he wasn’t expecting.

And that was when he found out that what he had hit wasn’t the coral he was expecting, but instead a sharp, black and curved broad blade that belonged to a cutlass.

A familiar cutlass that was held by none other than the petite man off in the distance, who had somehow swapped places with the thrown piece of coral.

Nearlo, having clashed with the Drowned King, managed to parry him back surprisingly before situating himself before Lillian and the spiritual man.

With a burning look in his eyes that was settled intensely on the Drowned King, he glanced back at Lillian for a brief moment before looking back.

Then, with a powerful stomp, he crushed the uneven coral ground beneath his right foot and caught a flying piece of coral.

And in that time, a pulse of mana erupted with him at the very centre.

It enveloped the land around him without any purpose other than sensory. The Drowned King recognised this and decided to save his mana as he watched what Nearlo was going to do next.

After Nearlo’s mana pulse had reached a radius of 15 metres around him, he threw the coral in the air and coated it with his magic that had undergone a change.

The level of someone’s Affinity with mana would be described using the ranking system. E to S rank affinity.

However, to some, the ranks were referred to under a different name.

Realms of Affinity.

Similar to Realms of Combat, it had names listed for each stage, which in this case were the rankings.

Mana Novice (E-rank) was a title for mages with the lowest Affinity with mana.

Mana Practitioner (D-rank) was a title for mages who had reached this level, and were given more control over their elements for more applications, which, in most cases, were giving it shape.

Mana Adept (C-rank) was where Lillian was currently at, the stage where a person would be able to apply their element onto objects and themselves. However, most Unorthodox Elements allow the user to do this, while not being at this level of Affinity.

Then, we got Mana King (B-rank), where one would be able to branch out to closely related concepts of their element.

It was also the level at which Nearlo was currently.

Upon digesting that Major Affinity Pill, his body and mana had undergone a significant change, allowing him to break through the bottleneck he was in and ascend to the next realm of Affinity!

{Request: Element of Transformation -> Element of Change granted}

Through the use of his element to transform objects and himself, wouldn’t that be the same as changing that object and himself?

Once the coral was thrown in the air, it suddenly vanished and was replaced with a black shortsword that would’ve been found stuck in the coral far away.

By changing the location between the shortsword and the coral he had thrown, he had been able to successfully swap the two.

This!

This was the true power of someone on the level of Mana King!

Even if each branch towards another element would cause the user to expend even more mana to commit, and depending on what it was, it still granted the mage near limitless ways of application!

With a large and bloodthirsty grin on his face, Nearlo’s eyes flashed with a dark blue light as he wielded both the swords; his body soon became wrapped in a thin layer of electricity due to the shortsword.

"IT’S ABOUT TIME I SHOW YAR ALL THE TRUE POWER OF A PIRATE OF THE BLACKBEARD CUTLASS!"

The Drowned King, who just watched Nearlo display an entirely new ability, wrinkled his face as he looked at both Lillian’s still healing body and Nearlo’s injured form.

He then shook his head.

"Give up... It’s all futile in the end. All five of you will lose."

"KAHAHA! LOSE!? Even if we both are battered, bruises, bleeding, and crushed, we have something you don’t, you cursed spirit of the past!"

The Drowned King cringed.

"And what’s that?"

"GUTS!" Nearlo pointed the tip of Lillian’s black cutlass at the Drowned King and declared, "We pirates rely on our guts and intuition to get us out of sticky situations. And what my gut is saying is that we’ll WIN!"

"Win? No matter how much you come at me, I will remain unharmed. I cannot feel pain and cannot bleed. I will always remain at the peak of what I’m currently capable of...

"Your statement of guts is true, but you must know when to doubt it, human. Give up."

"KAHAHA! I know that all too well, but! With a crew like mine, how could I give up!?" Nearlo slowly moved into a stance, "And also! Correct me if I’m wrong, dear member of the Four Mighty Sea Kings, but did yar or did yar not say ’All five of you will lose’? Could it be... Yar knew of us five before our arrival in your land?"

As the Drowned King was about to answer, his eyes suddenly shot wide open as his knees buckled, causing him to fall to his knees. He clutched the area right beside his heart with an expression of shock, pain, and disbelief.

[12:35 AM]

Nearlo laughed wildly as he felt the coral underneath him tremble violently, the air vibrating chaotically as cracks began to form everywhere.

{50% of the Final Boss, The Drowned King, Ruguda, has been defeated by...}

{1/2 Enemies needed to be eliminated for Exit Portal to appear.}

"KAHAHA! YOU CAN SEE THEM, CAN’T YOU?! DROWNED KING! OUR OTHER MEMBERS!" Nearlo roared with a maniacal cackle as he dropped his usual manner of speaking.
