Chapter 515: The Meeting with Captains?
Chapter 515: The Meeting with Captains?
Under a storm that was large enough to encompass an entire country, a titanic ship that ran on both machinery and magic was in the middle of a harsh war between man and sea beasts.
Four large fleets that surrounded this titanic metal ship fought back against a swarm of leviathans that appeared from under an entire island that had unexpectedly surfaced with the help of a humongous bubble.
It appeared to be the ruins of some powerful being in history.
At the forefront of all the chaos, a tall individual stood at the bow of his ship; his clothes dyed in blood, as well as his large black beard.
This was Captain Righthook, and standing behind him were the other three Captains, along with his second in command, Vulcrum, who had prepared a group of sacrifices for his ability.
"Arr... LET’S KEEP UP THE PRESSURE! AND PUT THESE EELS BACK TO SLEEP, YAR ALL!"
Simultaneously pulling out their weapons, they all rushed towards the sea of leviathans and began to plough a way through for Noah’s Ark to arrive on the "Three Temple Island".
With an obscene amount of speed, they hacked and pierced through the army of leviathans, while narrowly avoiding fatal attacks that would’ve meant instant death; their experience in battle kept them alive.
However, even if they were to perish in battle, with the help of Vulcrum’s ability, they would only be brought back to life—an effective contingency plan.
After roughly an hour had passed, they had finally cleared out the leviathans around them, of course, with the help of their crew on the powerful heavy weapons of Noah’s Ark.
Stepping foot on the island, they scoured around, turning over every rock or cracked brick they could find. With their search, they didn’t discover anything that could be considered useful or noteworthy.
Had the trip here been a waste of time and resources?
Captain Righthook scratched the back of his head, evidently distressed. If the journey to this island truly was a waste of resources, then his reputation would surely take a hit.
Not only him, but the other captains too.
He couldn’t let that happen.
"Have yar found anything?!"
"A temple! We found one of the temples!" The Captain of the Leviathan Drowner yelled back, joyfully.
Delight and excitement flashed through Captain Righthook’s eyes. He knew the call here wasn’t in vain! This island truly did have temples!
After rushing over to the discovered temple, their eyes sparkled at the size of the temple, but soon darkened as they were met with an entire army of undead pirates, something that caused them to freeze.
But.
Just an army of the dead wasn’t going to stop them from plundering the temple of all of its valuable resources. Perhaps they could even find a divine treasure!
Captain Righthook pulled back his arm, which was holding his cutlass and held it in place, flexing his muscles. Then, after a dramatic pause, he swung horizontally with a burst of mana.
He then roared out:
"[1ST TECHNIQUE OF THE DEEP SEA HUNTER: TIDEBREAKER SLASH]!"
What occurred after could only be jaw-dropping for an illusory wave that was more like a disastrous tsunami rushing out from his blade, reaching a height of 100 metres.
It collapsed onto the undead and crushed them near instantly, reducing them to dust and putting them to actual eternal rest.
Once they got rid of the obstacle, they strolled over to the double doors of the temple, which seemingly began to open on their own.
They flinched and immediately got into a stance, their reflexes built from the countless years of battle at sea.
They scrutinised the gates, and when they discovered nothing hostile about it, they moved through the gap it had opened up, which was large enough for all of them to enter through.
Upon walking in, they were met with the smell of death and... Plantlife?
Their eyes wandered all over the dimly lit inside of the temple.
There was a corpse of a black man with a hole through his heart. Another being a young man with a gaping hole through his lower abdomen. And lastly... A woman with a hole through their heart, similar to the first corpse...
And...
At the end of this hall was a rather imposing beast on two legs that stood at a height of around 8 feet.
Its head was in the form of a deer skull with a crown of bones melded into it. Its skin was black, and its muscles were skinny to the point you could even make the outline of its bones.
Currently, this beast was standing over a shrivelled corpse of what seemed to be a bare-chested man with tattoos.
Immediately assuming he was the cause of the death of these people, they went into position, intending to destroy the threat.
The Jungle Lord, having restored his vitality using the corpse of the Drowned King, didn’t expect to be attacked suddenly.
The lights in his eyes flickered a bit, currently... He wasn’t in a joyful mood for a battle. At this present moment, he was experiencing something he hadn’t felt before...
When his group had defeated the Drowned King, he had gone through an unexpected change in his psyche. He felt...
More aware...
Right before the captains were about to close in on the Jungle Lord, the Wendigo—
"KRAAAH!"
—Suddenly, it roared out with an unbelievable amount of pressure.
And inside that short span of time between his roar and their charge towards him, he suddenly vanished.
The pillars within the temple that had yet to fall were shattered instantly upon contact with the vines.
With the response from the Jungle Lord against their assault, a rapid battle ensued inside the enclosed space.
And only after a minute or two had passed, they ceased their battle as someone stumbled into the hall.
Captain Righthook, seeing as the Jungle Lord paused mid-attack, felt something amiss and decided to turn his back to the Wendigo. He looked back and settled his gaze on a beautiful young woman with white hair and blue eyes.
She was also carrying someone...

Lillian, having managed to defeat the Drowned King, awoke back in her physical body that was throbbing in pain.
After drinking a health potion and draining the remaining vitality from the fresh monster corpses in her ring, Lillian quickly looked for Nearlo to find have doing the same.
Fortunately, they were both still alive.
The unfortunate part, however... Was that the Mana Realm had now completely been shattered due to the existence of the Drowned King no longer within it.
They fell out of the sky, startled but mildly prepared.
Flashing her hand out and creating a cushion of water large enough to catch them, they landed safely.
What would’ve been a time to celebrate, as they only had a few minutes before the Exit Portal appeared, Lillian and Nearlo both dashed towards the temple.
Partway through, Lillian had to carry the man due to his legs giving out on him; he had overexerted his body in that battle with the Drowned King.
Upon arriving at the front of the temple, Nearlo, who was in Lillian’s arms, widened his eyes as he found the remains of crushed undead, which numbered perhaps around a hundred or more.
But.
It wasn’t that interesting enough for Lillian to stop moving towards the entrance. And the moment she entered through the gap in the double doors, she immediately dodged as a stray attack—
SHWIP!
—Almost hit her.
However, because of her dodge, those who were inside the temple were now aware of her presence. They instantly stopped what they were doing and gazed at her.
Lillian looked at them each individually, recalling each and every one of their faces before looking at the corpses of her group.
Viesta, Emilio, and Jon were still lying strewn across the ground, but without any further damage that had happened just recently.
Sighing in relief that their bodies weren’t any further damaged, Lillian glanced down at Nearlo to find him wide-eyed and staring at someone with absolute focus.
She then heard him whisper incredulously:
"Captain Righthook..."
Lillian looked up and she found a tall man with a large black beard staring at them and a metal hook for a right hand; he was also eyeing her a bit too much...
Lillian gulped.
After placing Nearlo down on the ground, Lillian turned away from Captain Righthook and towards a tall blonde man, Vulcrum, who still had a few criminals attached to him by leashes.
Vulcrum, seeing the approach of the woman, instantly took an offensive stance—and so did those who he came with.
But then—
THUD.
"Please!"
—He watched as the woman dropped to her knees and placed her forehead to the ground in a desperate manner.
Watching as the woman kowtowed to him, Vulcrum took an unconscious step back, cautious but also curious at what Lillian was currently up to. However, he soon got the gist when he heard:
"Please... Vulcrum of the Blackbeard Cutlass, please bring my friends back..."
