Chapter 606: It’s Adapating?
Then, Marionette slowly began pulling up Lillian’s skirt - up to a point where the inside of Lillian’s legs was now accessible to her.
The Rabbit felt something rub against her damp panties; her eyes immediately widened as she began to reflexively thrash around.
Marionette pulled her face back, allowing Lillian a brief moment to breathe and rest.
"Ha... Ha... Ha..." Lillian breathed raggedly, "P-please, Mari... C-can’t this wait until after you drunken my blood...?"
Hearing that Lillian was still adamant about getting her to drink her blood, Marionette smiled slightly.
Chu.
After pecking the Rabbit’s lips, Marionette leaned into Lillian’s right ear as she further brushed her left hand against the Rabbit’s damp area.
Marionette revelled at the sound of Lillian’s shaky breathing, finding them to be arousingly erotic in her ears.
"I don’t need your blood, Lillian."
Marionette whispered, gently biting Lillian’s earlobe, "All I need is you..."Upon hearing that, Lillian shivered a bit before being forced to moan from Marionette’s assertive need for her body.
As the backseat soon became filled with Lillian’s moans, unknown to both of them, the dark veins crawling under Marionette’s skin grew even more.
...
The Corruption was an interesting entity.
Despite being born from the corpses of deceased gods, they were anything but divine or holy - they were essentially a plague that desired the extinction of everything but themselves.
But they were also a plague that was born with intelligence.
The first time the True Darkness had managed to progress this far throughout Marionette’s body happened just a few days ago. At first, its plan to forcibly take control and destroy everything in its vicinity was a complete failure.
But, upon stirring awake, it had decided to move towards another path to take control.
Causing extreme pain to its host was only an instinctual method for it to achieve control; by distracting them long enough for them not realise it had spread throughout their body.
Unfortunately, Marionette’s tolerance to pain was unlike that of the average mage. And on top of having the ability to control darkness and having a special physique, such instinctual methods weren’t going to work.
Thus...
"W-wait, Mari! D-don’t put your fingers—mmph!"
It had decided to amplify Marionette’s obsession with Lillian as another way to distract her, while at the same time dropping the method to inflict Marionette with pain.
It was adapting.
...
Elara frowned a bit, finding the limousine to shake more than needed. The road wasn’t bumpy, and the limousine didn’t seem to be operating weirdly...
Turning around, she tried to get a glimpse of the backseat, but found the window into it to be blacked out. Did the Lady of Roses not want her to see what was going on in the back?
’I’ve also not heard any noises from back there... they must be talking about something important.’
In her mind, Marionette was a person with a strict and logical mentality; as long as it assisted her, she would use whatever it was to achieve her goal, but only if it didn’t negatively impact her.
She was also a strong and capable mage with a name largely known throughout the southern sector of the Underworld.
So whatever needed the privacy button pushed must be extremely important; not to be known, even to personnel of the Roselle family.
Thus, with deep respect for Marionette in mind, Elara continued on driving - ignoring the shakiness caused by whatever was happening in the back.
...
Eventually, they had reached their destination.
A small mansion that was encircled by a metal fence gate was their temporary residence.
After being let through the metal fence gate and moving into the driveway, everyone soon exited the vehicle.
Elara, who was about to open the doors for her passenger, watched as the door was pushed open by itself; more accurately, by Marionette.
Upon getting out of the car, Marionette took a look at her surroundings with a stoic face. Following close to her exit, Lillian also got out, but there was some slight difference.
Compared to Marionette, whose dress was creased out and her hair clean and straight, Lillian was a partial mess.
Her uniform was slightly dishevelled and wrinkled, and her hair was a mess. Lillian’s face was also partially covered in sweat and flushed red; her breathing was completely ragged and heavy, as if she had engaged in a long session of cardio.
Elara raised an eyebrow at this but decided just to sigh, assuming the girl was extremely tired for the day.
Lillian was still new to the job, and she had most likely been through a lot in the event, getting lots of attention due to her looks; Elara knew how troublesome it was to deal with stuck-up nobles.
’But even so...’
Elara watched as Lillian clung to Marionette’s arm for support.
’A maid shouldn’t be so clingy to her master.’
After inspecting Lillian’s condition, Elara shifted her gaze to Marionette. Taking a look at Marionette’s neck and face, she narrowed her eyes at the dark veins - quietly noting it.
But she was then noticed by Marionette, who gave her a sharp look.
Coughing into her fist, Elara led them into the mansion, which had other people in it; servants, to be specific. The day before coming here, they were given the layout of the mansion, so, with that knowledge, they had sent servants from other branches to come here.
Later, when one of the servants had finished giving them a tour around the entire mansion, Marionette—
"H-hey, Mari...!"
—Swooped Lillian off her feet.
Holding the Rabbit in a princess carry, Marionette declared:
"I’ll be taking Lillian with me to our living quarters. And unless it’s urgent, please don’t come to find us for the night."
After saying that, Marionette left Elara to her own devices - tightly holding onto Lillian, who clung onto her shyly.
Lillian wasn’t sure if it was really the True Darkness’s fault, but...
’I don’t know what’s happening...!’
She felt that Marionette was more assertive than usual!
