Chapter 626: Harpooning to Cull Monsters?

Chapter 626: Harpooning to Cull Monsters?

"Acus Maris."

In the blink of an eye, the Acus Mark on her left palm exploded with light. Pinching the Acus Mark, Lillian began to pull out a two-metre-long harpoon made from black wood streaked with shimmering silver veins with a matte-black metal tip that became a deep bluish grey near the base.

She then grabbed its shaft, gripping it tightly with rejuvenated strength.

With her body now back to its peak, Lillian moved with explosive speed - dashing towards the disfigured monster with a bloodthirsty look in her glowing eyes.

While at the same time activating her gauntlets’ ability.

She gripped Acus Maris with one hand and stabbed forward, her arm exploding with mana and strength as she muttered:

"[Lunge of the Abyssal Fang]."

Within a fraction of a second, a gigantic spectral maw of a water beast formed around her arm and the harpoon, like her harpoon, decided to take on the form of a leviathan.

Then, when her harpoon eventually reached the monster, who only had enough time to instinctively react by raising its arms, the spectral beast snapped shut with a boom—

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

—Killing the disfigured human instantly, completely ignoring its tough hide.

Without wasting time, Lillian instantly turned to her next group of targets.

With a twist of her body, she dashed towards another group of disfigured humans. She adjusted and lowered her grip on Acus Maris’s shaft before grasping it tightly.

Then, with a single diagonal swing and a snap of her wrist, she muttered coldly:

"[Rend of the Drowned Fish]."

In that moment, a virtual image of a black fin of a deep-sea beast manifested over the tip of her harpoon. And following her swing, it cleaved through the bodies of the disfigured humans with ease, as though they were but whale lard.

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

After killing them instantly, Lillian continued to move coldly through the horde of monsters; these were what she was meant to kill, not humans.

Her movements were swift and deadly as she continued to kill many after her first, sometimes even killing some with a single attack.

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

[You have slain...]

[You have slain...]

...

[You have slain a Champion Husk, Human?]

There were previously over seventy disfigured humans, those who had either thought they had a chance to eliminate Millis or injected themselves out of fear. But upon her awakening and recovery, she had already culled over half of their numbers.

Her speed was immense, surpassing Millis - even with all of her strength. This wasn’t just because Acus Maris was a high-tier weapon, but also because of the Drowned King’s Combat Style.

It was a swift Combat Style.

It was a deadly Combat Style.

And it was a Combat Style filled with techniques that were meant to kill in a single strike.

For someone who only ever uses her magic to defend herself, this was an excellent Combat Style for her.

Lillian leapt forward and pierced through the skull of a disfigured human, killing them instantly.

[You have slain a Disciple Maw, Human?]

Kuuuuhhh...!

The Rabbit then glanced to the side, finding a bright shining light that radiated an intense amount of heat.

Lillian snorted and yanked her harpoon free before activating Acus Maris’s first enchantment: [Binding of the Drowned].

Acus Maris’s silver veins flashed with light as a powerful suction akin to a whirlpool manifested at the harpoon’s metal tip.

The disfigured humans Lillian had slain earlier, no matter how big or small they were, began to hurriedly attract towards the tip of Acus Maris - forming a gruesome wall of corpses that blocked a high-powered beam of flames.

[Binding of the Drowned] was an enchantment that forced targets Lillian had struck to gravitate themselves to either be in line of Acus Maris or be anchored to the ground.

It was more of a utility-type of enchantment rather than an offensive or defensive one. But it was still a powerful and versatile enchantment, mainly because the suction grew stronger depending on how much mana was put into it.

The only reason the Drowned King had not used this enchantment to its fullest potential was due to the reason of mana. Just as the suction can grow stronger with mana, it would also do the opposite.

This enchantment was quite draining.

Using her connection with Millis, Lillian had noticed that just this simple use of the enchantment had cost Millis 10% of her overall mana.

Lillian remained calm and taciturn.

Tossing the pile of smoking corpses to the side, Lillian heaved the harpoon over her head - entering into a throwing stance.

Then, she twisted her torso around rapidly, preparing to throw before muttering a technique’s name:

"[Harpoon of the Black Tides]."

A cold light flashed in her eyes as she hurled Acus Maris.

And the moment it left her hand—

BOOM!

—A shockwave exploded.

Acus Maris shot through the air at immense speed, transforming into a dark-blue streak of lightning midway through and completely piercing through the disfigured human - eviscerating the upper half of its body.

[You have slain...]

[You have slain...]

[You have slain...]

Along with the monsters behind it.

Lillian, who had watched this happen, grinned wickedly at the strength; this was the attack the Drowned King had first unleashed on her, the one that took out Nearlo’s boat.

The girl then looked down at her throwing arm, finding it fine and unharmed; her grin widened even further.

In the past, whenever she had copied someone who was stronger than her, she would be left with a painful backlash that targeted her muscles, like when she had used Marionette’s Combat Style, the Crimson Nocturne.

But right now.

She didn’t have any muscles.

At this moment, Lillian was capable of utilising the Drowned King’s Combat Style without needing any training beforehand!

’Granted, it’s only for up to 10 minutes, but that’s enough!’

Raising her left hand, which bore a faint Acus Mark, Lillian commanded the harpoon to return.

Acus Maris, who had pierced through and destroyed a wall and embedded itself deep into a narrow hole, suddenly disappeared with a flash of light - appearing a second later in Lillian’s left hand with the same flash of light.

Seeing this made Lillian’s "blood" rush with even more excitement. And with an urge to satiate her excitement, she moved to cull even more monsters.

And while this was happening...

’What the hell is going on!?’

Someone was planning their escape.
