Chapter 659: Unfinished Business?

Under the influence of the Chysalis Serum and the numerous people he had devoured, Albrecht’s intelligence had grown to match what it had been prior to his mutations. Unfortunately, he was no longer the same person as before the event.

‘After I build up enough power, I’m coming for you, Damien von Darkhound!’

In the past, Albrecht had once trusted Damien to be a close ally—a friend—but also a tool. Although there he had witnessed Damien commit several unacceptable actions, the Darkhound was too much of an asset to discard. He had planned to use Damien to work his way up the social ladder, strengthening the power his family could use in the political world.

‘But to think he had other motives as well!’ Albrecht wasn’t sure what Damien had injected him with, but he was going to make him pay for humiliating him!

Albrecht continued to wreak havoc on the residents of the inner circle, rapidly gaining power the more he consumed.

With the turbulent rings of thunderous winds surrounding his limbs and his towering stone body, he looked like the vessel of a cataclysmic deity sent to the human world.

As he was about to destroy another group of homes, his colossal stone vessel slowly came to a gruelling halt.

Shock permeated through his eyes.

“What!?” Albrecht shouted, his voice echoing out from deep inside the golem’s chest.

By the time he relinquished control of his body, he had already lost one of his arms, which had suddenly crumbled away, as though affected by the erosion of time.

When creating another arm, he noticed a small dot in the sky that was hastily charging at him.

Now knowing where the enemy was, Albrecht gritted his teeth and willed the colossal golem to attack, swinging at the flying enemy, who weaved in between the colossal arms.

Millis, like an experienced pilot of a fighter jet, manoeuvred through the air with ease, as if she were the wind itself. Furthermore, with her battle axe in hand, whenever she dodged an attack, she would pre-emptively deliver one of her own right after.

She sliced through the rapid winds that surrounded Albrecht’s body and predicted lightning strikes left and right; if someone were here to witness this spectacle, they would’ve believed that the one fighting the colossal giant had a lifetime of experience fighting in the air.

BAM!

“Tch.”

Unfortunately, unlike her earlier attack that took off Albrecht’s arm, her swings achieved nothing more than deep cracks that were immediately healed.

And it frustrated her to no end.

To her, it was like encountering a boss in a video game, which not only had a second phase, but could also heal very quickly. No one liked these types of opponents!

Luckily, with her Earth Element, she was able to restrict Albrecht’s movements from time to time, allowing her to either deliver heavy strikes or push him back from the fleeing masses. But of course, there was only so much she could do.

Albrecht took another step forward and crushed another group of homes. And witnessing this, Millis frowned angrily and groaned:

“B-rank monsters and above are always such a pain to deal with.”

Millis wasn’t the perfect match-up for the colossal stone golem. While she was able to restrain the thing, it was only for a moment. She didn’t want to admit it, but Albrecht’s control over magic was higher than hers, by only a bit, though.

Because of that, unless it was just to piss him off, the obstacles that Millis created would just be either ripped apart or moved to the side.

‘He also has more mana.’ Millis scratched the back of her helmet. She then slowly turned her eyes to an empty space in the air. ‘Not many points for anything good.’

While in the midst of seeing what she could afford, Millis spotted someone in the corner of her eyes. Specifically…

“M-mommy… Hic. Mommy, where are you? Hic.”

It was a child, a little girl, standing alone in the direction Albrecht was moving. Her legs were shaking rapidly, and her breathing was uncontrollable. She was paralysed with fear as impending doom neared her.

As Albrecht was about to step on her, Millis swooped in and saved her without regard for her own safety. “Hahaha, oh my! What’re ya doing over here?” Millis asked with a carefree laugh.

After bringing her somewhere far enough away, the Heroine lowered the girl to the ground. Once lifting her visor, Millis brushed away the girl’s tears with a heroic look, “Ya can’t be over here, princess~ where’s ya parents at?”

“I-I, uhm…”

While Millis continued to chat with the little girl, Albrecht found himself troubled. With every step he took, he would suddenly lose his balance and become skewered by a massive earth spike. No matter how many times he destroyed them, more would come—obstructing his path.

“AARGH!”

Annoyed, Albrecht transferred a portion of mana into his eyes, causing the four-pointed stars to spin and glow. And when they finished spinning, they pointed in the general direction where Millis was.

When given this information, the air around Albrecht’s colossal form began to crackle. In the next moment—

—Beams made of pure electricity began to bombard Millis’s general location, claiming dozens of lives hiding in fear.

And Millis, who had been unprepared for the attack—

On top of the mana needed to keep the golem moving, he had expended far too much mana, especially for a single person!

When he was going to continue moving, Albrecht was annoyingly met with another obstacle.

Slowly floating down in front of him was a tall, handsome blonde man. He had a lean, chiselled body adorned with an assortment of jewellery. Although he looked ridiculous and glamorous, he had a resolute look in his eyes that anyone would respect.

“We have unfinished business.”
