Xie Yi looked at the room full of people and felt satisfied. Their family was small and Xie Xuanchen was away from home all year round. It seemed like it was harder to see him than to see the Emperor. It was an unprecedented occasion that all of his relatives were gathered here today.

Xie Yi and Madam Yin invited Xie Rui, his wife and Madam Jiang Honghao to sit down as the children stood behind their mothers. Seeing this, Mu Mingtang wanted to leave, but she was stopped by Madam Yin, “You just arrived so wait a moment, I’ll have someone send you home later.”

Mu Mingtang was about to say something but she stopped herself. She really didn’t want to see Xie Xuanji and Jiang Mingwei. However, she couldn’t bear to offend Madam Yin, so she had to agree reluctantly.

Mu Mingtang was then pulled over by Madam Yin as Xie Xuanchen also trailed behind his mother very naturally.

Madam Yin always regretted that there were only a small number of people in her family. Happy to see her Second Brother’s family coming from afar, she asked them about their recent situation throughout the recent years. Xie Xuanji also looked sensible and polite, standing behind Xie Rui, answering Madam Yin’s questions from time to time.

Jiang Mingwei had always been the most beautiful woman in the circle in her hometown and she was highly sought after by everyone. She also felt that she was more talented and beautiful than every other girl, comparing her status to that in the world. But now that she came to the capital with the Xie family, what she saw and what she expected were entirely different. The majestic capital and the uncle that Xie Xuanji was going to seek refuge with were both even more noble and dignified than Jiang Mingwei could have imagined.

Jiang Mingwei’s cognition was suddenly shattered. She found that she was not only not considered rich or noble, but even her appearance was not good enough. She looked timidly at the person sitting at the top. Xie Yi was tall and majestic, seemingly awe-inspiring even without being angry. He looked like a general in all operas. Madam Yin, who sat next to Xie Yi, was gentle and beautiful as she spoke softly. She was more noble and beautiful than the most perfect Madam in Jiang Mingwei’s imagination.

And the little girl standing next to Madam Yin was wearing a beautiful red dress. With delicate eyebrows and eyes, she held herself with an outstanding temperament. Although quiet, she was not dull, which showed her habit of being involved in high circles.

Another beautiful and incredible boy stood next to the girl, almost a bit too closely as if he was possessive. Jiang Mingwei had never seen such a beautiful boy. One glance was enough for her to gawk at since she didn’t dare to steal another.

Jiang Mingwei suddenly felt inferior. Her parents and family, which she was always proud of, paled in comparison to the Xie family. Even her pretentious appearance could not compare with others.

Jiang Mingwei felt very cramped in such an environment and subconsciously leaned towards the familiar Xie Xuanji. The latter had always been impressed by Jiang Mingwei, so he wondered, why was she behaving so meekly? Though, he just thought that Jiang Mingwei was still young and shy, so he reached out and held her hand as if to comfort her.

Mu Mingtang saw it at a glance and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes. A low chuckle came from her side.
