Chapter 155: The Third Spirit Orb
Chapter 155: The Third Spirit Orb
This demon was truly strange—he was more concerned about Tian Fan’s well-being than anyone else. The sight left everyone dumbfounded, including Tian Fan himself. He found the situation bizarre. The demon kept calling him “Young Master,” but Tian Fan had never seen this person before—not even in a dream.
“I have to go in. I must obtain it.”
Tian Fan could not stop here. To him, that Orb was everything right now. Not getting it would be more painful than death.
“But you truly cannot enter. Although the lightning inside won’t hurt me, even I cannot come into direct contact with that Thunder Spirit Orb!”
The demon’s words stirred a storm of shock. Everyone behind them showed expressions of wild excitement. Inside that place—it was the legendary Thunder Spirit Orb! Yes, it had to be. What else in the world could possess such overwhelming lightning power? Only that spirit Orb described in the ancient texts, said to hold the strongest thunder spirit energy in existence.
“Xiao Fan, don’t go in!”
Several members of the Great Sealing Sect cried out at once, but they couldn’t stop Tian Fan’s steps.
“I must go in. No one can stop me!”
Tian Fan’s voice turned cold. He stepped around the demon and walked forward, step by step. The lightning in front of him raged like ocean waves. Bolts of lightning thicker than mountains crashed down relentlessly.
The demon grew increasingly anxious, closely tailing Tian Fan and ready to act at any moment.
Buzz…
As Tian Fan approached the sea of lightning, his body began to glow faintly with silver light. A translucent silver Orb emerged from within him, marked with countless tiny patterns.
“The Wind Spirit Orb!”
The demon gasped in disbelief. He hadn’t expected Tian Fan to possess the Wind Spirit Orb as well. The onlookers were again utterly shocked—how long had it been since the last discovery, and now another spirit Orb had appeared? Were these legendary treasures really that easy to find?
Buzz…
The Wind Spirit Orb trembled, emitting soft silver light. The relentless lightning ahead began to flicker and then withdrew on its own, opening a clear path for Tian Fan.
The crowd behind was utterly stunned. Even the terrifying demon could hardly believe what he was seeing.
Of everyone present, no one was more excited than Tian Fan himself. Trembling, he walked forward to the Thunder Spirit Orb. The divine treasure hovered silently in the air. It was a purple Orb, about the same size as the Wind Spirit Orb. Inside it seemed to be an endless array of stars—Tian Fan felt an illusion that he was looking at the cosmos within it.
Buzz…
The Wind Spirit Orb and Thunder Spirit Orb began to vibrate together, like long-lost siblings finally reunited. They spun joyfully around Tian Fan before slowly floating over to him, gently circling him and then settling quietly in front of him.
“Young Master, be careful!”
Seeing Tian Fan reach out to grab both Orbs, the demon tensed. But his worry turned out to be unnecessary. The two spirit Orbs obediently landed in Tian Fan’s hands.
“Three more. Just three more!”
Tian Fan was ecstatic and absorbed both Orbs into his body.
Whoosh…
Once the Thunder Spirit Orb entered Tian Fan’s body, all the lightning disappeared without a trace. The sky cleared instantly, but everyone’s hearts were pounding with dread as they stared ahead.
What they saw was a giant black hole, its destination unknown. But it felt as if it could devour souls. Some who glanced into it lost all signs of life, their eyes dimming as they collapsed. A boundless aura of death surged out from the black hole—far more terrifying than even the demon who had first appeared. It resembled the legendary entrance to a demonic realm.
“What is that!?”
Tian Fan asked in shock. Staring into the black hole gave him a feeling that his soul was about to shatter. Fortunately, the demon quickly shielded him with a protective barrier, sealing off the deadly force.
“The City of the Dead…”
The demon’s voice was heavy. He had turned into his monstrous form earlier because the demonic energy within had corroded his soul.
“The City of the Dead? What kind of place is that?”
The Demon Saint Palace’s Holy Son and the others stepped forward to ask seriously. They had read of the Immortal Realm, the Divine Realm, and the Demon Realm in ancient texts—but never of the City of the Dead.
“A place where demons are sealed.”
The demon said solemnly. His face was grave as his hands began to move, forming eighty-one intricate divine seals. A massive golden “swast!ka” mark radiated blinding light, and an overwhelming pressure descended. From the black hole surged endless dark mist, which formed into a colossal skeletal demon head with blood-red eyes, roaring so loudly the earth trembled.
“Hmph. Since I’ve awakened, you all can stay buried underground!”
The demon snorted coldly as his body grew enormous. The giant golden “swast!ka” seal pressed forward. The black skeletal demon shrieked in defiance, but it was ultimately reduced to dust under the seal’s crushing power.
“Seal!”
The demon roared. The golden “swast!ka” shone brilliantly, enveloping the entire black hole. The deadly aura vanished completely in an instant.
“You!”
Everyone—including Tian Fan and Sun Yueying—were shocked. The divine technique the demon used was exactly the same as Tian Fan’s.
“Your humble servant is unworthy, but I was fortunate enough to receive a portion of the divine technique passed down by the Master.”
The demon’s words stunned everyone again. This fearsome existence had a master? Was that even fair?
“Who is your master?”
Tian Fan asked urgently, desperate for answers. But to his disappointment, the demon seemed to have his reservations and didn’t reveal more.
“By the way, Brother Xiao Fan, where is Sister Zi Ying? Didn’t she go out to look for you?” Sun Yueying suddenly asked.
Tian Fan’s body trembled.
“Xiao Fan, what’s wrong!?”
Li Yunyang and the others asked nervously. They didn’t understand what had shaken Tian Fan so badly. This time, he seemed like a different person—his killing intent was so intense that it made them shiver.
“Zi Ying… she… she’s gone…”
Tian Fan choked out, giving them a brief account of what had happened. At last, they understood why his killing aura was so strong—he had destroyed the Yin-Yang Sect, an ancient sect with thousands of years of history.
“D*mn it. They all deserve to die!”
Sun Yueying and the others were furious, murderous intent blazing in their eyes. Even the Demon Saint Palace’s Holy Son was taken aback. They had all lived with Zi Ying for some time, and the entire Great Sealing Sect had adored the bright, kind-hearted, and cheerful girl. None of them had expected this…
“I will bring her back. Just three more Orbs… just three more, and I can save her!”
Tian Fan said, voice trembling.
“In that case, Young Master, if my sensing is correct, the next spirit Orb should be located at the far eastern edge of this realm.”
The demon suddenly said, causing Tian Fan’s heart to leap in excitement. He hadn’t expected the next spirit Orb’s location to be revealed so soon after obtaining the Thunder Spirit Orb.
