Chapter 188: Guardian Demon Wolf
Chapter 188: Guardian Demon Wolf
The piercing screams continued, and everyone present, including Xiang Yufei, gaped in shock, their expressions more astonished than if they had seen a god.
On the other side, Murong Fu wore a look of terror as he stared at the Little Phoenix in the sky, unable to comprehend the kind of existence he had provoked.
“He insulted me first…” the little creature turned its tiny head, looking a bit disgruntled at the others, then unleashed a burst of red light, restoring all four to their ability to move.
“Why are you looking at me like that? It was him who insulted me first…” The little creature said timidly, glancing at the eight pair of eyes on it.
The four stood up from the ground, bewildered, never having expected a mere bird beside Tian Fan to be so formidable. Even the supreme elder of the Murong clan stood no chance against it.
“Little one, could you retract the flames on him?”
The cries still echoed, and Murong Qiu felt a pang of pity, as it was her kin, and she did not wish to witness his death. Moreover, a strong individual from the Immortal Ascension Realm was undoubtedly a core power of the family; losing him would be a tremendous loss, one that even an ancient martial clan would struggle to bear.
Although the little creature was extremely reluctant, since Murong Qiu had spoken, it opened its mouth and retracted the purple flames.
The old man was nearly reduced to a charred husk but fortunately, he had not died.
“You take him back, and tell those in the clan that I won’t marry. I will return when those old fools come to their senses.”
Murong Qiu said to a middle-aged man beside her, then turned away with the Little Phoenix, leaving behind a bitterly resentful Murong Fu, who glared fiercely at their retreating figures.
Beneath the Underground Palace of the Soaring Dragon Dynasty, the sky was shrouded in gloom, the ground a vivid red. Tian Fan and the Little Dragon walked slowly forward, where an altar could be vaguely seen, faint streams of Divine Radiance flowing over it.
“Brother, someone is coming.”
The little creature perched on Tian Fan’s head gazed back, spotting five points of light approaching at an incredible speed, reaching Tian Fan in the blink of an eye.
“Initial Stage of Primordial Unity? This is not a place for you, leave!” One among them, a middle-aged man, glared at Tian Fan, his expression cold and commanding.
Tian Fan cast him a sidelong glance, seemingly not hearing, and scanned the others, all of whom appeared middle-aged. Among them, he recognized only Long Aotian; the other four were strangers to him.
Of these five, the other four remained silent. Except for Long Aotian, who gave him a complex look, the other three stood quietly, their gazes steady, showing no regard for him whatsoever.
“I am speaking to you; did you not hear me?” The first middle-aged man said coldly, extending his hand towards Tian Fan, a horrifying power causing the very space to tremble slightly.
Tian Fan gave him a frosty glare but said nothing, raising his right hand and slapping it outward.
Bang…
The middle-aged man was sent flying, landing in a crater a hundred feet away, the ground cracking beneath him, his hand bleeding profusely with visible fractures, some areas showing bone.
“What!?”
Except for Long Aotian, all present displayed shock, staring at the young man across from them, struggling to fathom how a practitioner at the Initial Stage of Primordial Unity could knock back an Immortal Ascension Expert.
Boom…
In the distance, the middle-aged man stood once more, a chilling expression on his face, an overwhelming killing intent radiating from him as the void twisted, and the ground quaked. He stepped closer, terrifying pressure bearing down on Tian Fan like a raging storm, but to everyone’s horror, the young man stood unaffected, calmly enduring the immense oppressive force that could potentially shatter the heavens.
“Poof…”
Tian Fan turned, looking coldly at the opposing middle-aged man, who was blasted back again, smashing through a small mound behind him, his body riddled with cracks and bleeding uncontrollably, his face reflecting profound terror.
This was certainly not Tian Fan’s own power; the Little Dragon, dissatisfied with the middle-aged man’s actions, found his arrogance unbearable. To attack without regard for their lives was truly despicable. The little creature gathered its Dragon Might, focusing solely on this middle-aged man, leaving the others unaware of the threat.
“May I ask which esteemed individual you are?”
They looked at Tian Fan in surprise, struggling to comprehend how this young man from the Primordial Unity Realm could repel an entity from the Immortal Ascension Realm. The only possibility was that this youth was an ancient being of immense strength.
Tian Fan paid them no mind, casting a casual glance at Long Aotian before continuing on his way. The others, having encountered failure, said nothing, learning from the past.
The distant middle-aged man rose, his eyes flashing with resentment and fear.
They had delved deep into the Underground Palace, surrounded by broken black structures. Although the black sun above had vanished along with thousands of Ghost Soldiers, Tian Fan dared not lower his guard. Who knew what terrifying entities lay in this subterranean world?
Long Aotian and the others were all on high alert, vigilantly observing their surroundings; after all, the atmosphere in this world demanded constant attention.
“Roar…”
Suddenly, the earth trembled, resembling an earthquake, the ground ahead cracking open as a massive wild wolf emerged, measuring three yards in length and two in height. It howled loudly, its icy blue eyes fixed coldly on the group.
“What is this!?”
Someone exclaimed in shock. This monstrous creature radiated no life force, a clear sign it was dead, yet it exuded a terrifying aura rivaling that of an Immortal Ascension Realm individual.
This was a formidable presence, its gigantic form gleaming with a chilling metallic sheen, its body evidently unimaginably robust, easily standing out even among those in the Immortal Ascension Realm.
“Humans, do not advance, or you will die!”
Surprisingly, this deceased demon beast projected such a thought. Tian Fan’s eyes shone with golden light, but he found it hard to draw any conclusions.
“Hmph, just a dead creature thinks it can block our path!?”
One of them scoffed, conjuring a burst of black light that stood out powerfully in this region. Yet the old wolf merely swiped its massive paw forward, effortlessly sending the sphere of darkness flying.
The movement was almost mechanical, as the old wolf’s face bore no discernible expression, merely following a faint command in its mind.
“Truly exceptional!”
One said, and the others simultaneously took action, fully aware that this was a Guardian Demon Beast; they had to defeat it to proceed.
The void shattered, and the earth broke apart; the strength of those from the Immortal Ascension Realm was terrifyingly excessive, yet the massive demon beast before them did not retreat an inch, comparable to an Immortal Ascension mid-tier individual, its cold eyes glowing red, a terrifying aura emanating continually.
Tian Fan’s gaze remained calm as he observed briefly, then directly stepped forward, ignoring the terrifying demon wolf.
A faint silver light appeared on his body, and the Immortal Ascension Realm individuals were left astonished, as this action seemed like a pursuit of death.
