Chapter 35.1 - New teammates
Chapter 35.1 - New teammates
After Mo Han logged out of the game, he sent a message to Frank: “Let’s have dinner together tonight, invite Kathleen too. It’s my treat.”
Frank hasn’t seen Mo Han since the new semester starter, and readily agreed.
Apart from the large student cafeteria, which already has a wide variety of dishes, Hermann University also has several small restaurants. Frank and Mo Han made an appointment at a restaurant with relatively high privacy, and booked a small private room.
At six o’clock in the afternoon, Frank and Kathleen came to the private room together.
Mo Han had already ordered dishes and sat there waiting for them. When he saw the two of them, he smiled and said, “Long time no see, seniors.”
Frank walked over to give him a hug, and asked with concern: “What have you been up to lately?”
Mo Han said, “I’m planning to graduate this semester, ahead of schedule, and have been researching information for my graduation thesis recently.”
The coursework at Hermann University is already heavy, especially for computer science students. There are many who have not graduated after their senior year, while Mo Han is the rare student who completed the requirements in his second year. If he successfully defends his graduation thesis in his third year, it’s equivalent to graduating one and a half years earlier, and he would be the first student to do so in the 20-or-so year history of Hermann University.
Frank immediately gave Mo Han, his junior, a thumbs up in admiration. “You entered school two years later than me, and are actually graduating earlier than me, that’s impressive!”
Kathleen interrupted: “Mo Han is smarter than you. He got full marks in the class you almost failed last semester.”
Frank looked back at her. “Can’t you save your boyfriend some face?”
Kathleen rolled her eyes at him. “You still face in front of Mo Han? You even asked your junior for study tips on an exam.”
Frank said cheekily: “So what? Mo Han has already passed our classes!”
Seeing the two of them bickering, Mo Han couldn’t help but smile slightly.
Frank is the chairman of the computer science student union. After hearing about Mo Han, he invited him to join the student union. Mo Han politely declined the invitation, and they became friends instead. This senior has a cheerful personality and has always taken good care of Mo Han at school, while his girlfriend Kathleen is also a relatively cheerful girl. Mo Han feels very relaxed every time he is with them.
After arguing with her boyfriend, Kathleen looked back at Mo Han and asked, “How is your thesis preparation going? When will you defend? I’ll be there.”
Mo Han said: “The writing has finished, and will be handed over to Professor Bolt for preliminary review. If he passes it, it can be sent to the defense committee. It should be April this year at the earliest.”
Frank had a headache at the mention of the thesis. He rubbed his eyebrows and said, “You can write a thesis as easily as you write a program, while I’m still agonizing over what to write.”
Mo Han looked at him and said, “Senior, if you have any difficulties, you can come to me.”
Frank patted Mo Han on the shoulder with a smile and said, “Who knew, you really care about people! There are rumors about you everywhere, saying that you have a cold personality, are unreasonable, treat your juniors poorly, and are a cold-blooded animal when rejecting others… Those people are blind and don’t understand you at all.”
Mo Han said calmly: “I don’t care what others think of me.” He picked up the coffee on the table and took a sip, then changed the subject and said, “Senior, when testing “Law of the Jungle”, were there any bugs?”
Frank thought about it carefully before replying. “We haven’t found any obvious bugs yet. The game is done really well. Players can reach every corner of a dungeon, and the sense of reality when exploring and fighting are very good. Kathleen and I have gone through all the maps in hard mode, but today is the first time clearing nightmare mode, and the remaining maps have yet to be tested.”
Mo Han nodded, and asked casually: “That Mr. F, how did you meet?”
Frank said: “A week ago, he found our team from the leaderboard and said he wanted to play hard mode with us, so I invited him to test him out. He is really good, as you saw today. Not to mention first-rate fighting skills, his marksmanship is also very precise.”
The coffee in his mouth was too bitter. Mo Han frowned, took a cube of sugar from the saucer, put it into the coffee cup, picked up a spoon and stirred it gently. “His identity and background, do you know anything?”
Frank said: “We were also very curious, and asked where he learned marksmanship. He said that his father was an imperial soldier who trained him to use a gun since he was a child. He has more than ten years of experience, which is why his marksmanship is so accurate. I haven’t asked the specifics, though, as that would be disrespectful.”
The doubts in Mo Han’s heart eased. Children from military families will learn fighting and shooting at an early age. With his calm and accurate marksmanship, if Mr. F is the son of a general, it really makes sense.
Mo Han didn’t think much about it, thinking it was just a master Frank met in-game.
The three chatted happily about games and academic problems, and walked out of the private room after dinner.
Coincidentally, just as Mo Han came out of the private room, he saw a familiar face – Luo Ning.
Luo Ning also recognized him. He walked towards him with a smile and stretched out his hand, “Senior, what a coincidence.”
With others around them, to avoid prying ears nearby and because the other party took the initiative to call him ‘senior’, Mo Han did not expose his identity as the Second Prince. He simply shook hands with him, and asked politely: “You also got admitted to Hermann University? Didn’t you go to military school with your brother?”
Luo Ning said: “I don’t want to go to a military school. I feel uncomfortable wearing a military uniform every day. Hermann University is more free.”
Mo Han asked casually, “Which college are you in?”
Luo Ning said: “Literature, I like books.”
This surprised Mo Han. Luo Ning and Luo Fei are twins, but Luo Ning is very different from Luo Fei no matter in character, appearance, or preferences. He looks gentle and elegant, and is unlike his cheeky, foolish brother, Luo Fei.
Luo Ning noticed that Mo Han’s mind was distracted, probably because he was thinking about his brother? Smiling slightly, he asked, “Senior also likes to eat here?”
Mo Han nodded: “Yes. I came here with my friends.”
Frank and Kathleen took the initiative to come over to say hello. “We’re Mo Han’s friends. Are you a new freshman?”
“Yes,” Luo Ning also shook hands with them politely. “Please take care of me in the future.”
This polite freshman left a good impression on the couple.
But immediately after, another person came out of the private room next door. He was only about 1.7 meters tall, and he looked relatively short standing in front of Mo Han. His appearance is also very recognizable – Iman.
The most famous omega at Hermann University. His enthusiasm is said to have scared away a shy alpha senior when he first entered the school. And his unrestrained style of joking and teasing alphas has made many alphas wary of him.
The reason why Frank recognized him was because Iman won the championship in the intelligent mech manufacturing competition jointly organized by computer science and mech departments last year. Although Iman’s character is really hard to describe, he did inherit his father’s talent in mech manufacturing. It would be great if he didn’t inherit his father’s thick-skinned and unscrupulous personality though.
When Iman saw Mo Han, his eyes lit up. He immediately rushed towards Mo Han, and gave Mo Han a big hug. “Mo Han, what a coincidence!”
Mo Han looked very calm, nodded, and said, “Just came here for dinner.”
Iman said: “Me too. Xiao Ning just came to school and is not familiar with the food here, so I invited him to try the steak at this restaurant. I didn’t expect to meet you here.”
Today’s meeting is indeed a coincidence, and Mo Han was very happy to meet Iman.
He and Iman have a lot of common topics about mech manufacturing, and omega pheromones will not affect him. In Mo Han’s eyes, a passionate and lively little guy like Iman is quite cute. He didn’t reject Iman’s approach, and didn’t think it was a problem if Iman hugged him, because Iman is like a lively younger brother in his opinion.
Iman let go of Mo Han and asked, “By the way, I heard you talking about the Law of the Jungle in the corridor just now. Is it that popular game?”
Frank also knew Iman, so he took the initiative to introduce the game. “It’s a holographic survival adventure game launched by Fengyang Games. It’s very realistic, but there are also some scenes that are particularly scary. Timid people generally dare not play.”
The more Iman listened, the more interested he became, and he couldn’t help asking, “I’m not timid. I’m not afraid of scary scenes. I want to play too. Can you take me?”
Mo Han said: “Of course. This game is now open for registration, but you need to buy a holographic game cabin in order to connect your physical senses.”
Iman scratched his head. “I see, what are your IDs in the game? I’ll come find you guys.”
Mo Han didn’t reject him joining, and shared their IDs with him.

After coming out of the restaurant, Iman excitedly connected to the internet and wanted to go to the online shopping mall to buy a game cabin, but Luo Ning suddenly grabbed him and leaned into his ear.
“Don’t buy it, this kind of game cabin is very expensive, just use mine.”
Iman turned around and asked, “Don’t you need it?”
Luo Ning shook his head with a smile. “I’m not interested in those games. If there’s time, I might as well go to the library and read more books.”
Iman was stunned, Luo Ning’s character is indeed gentle. Asking him to fight with a group of people is not something the Second Prince will do. However, the game cabin is said to be a customized gift from Fengyang Group to the two princes. Is it really okay for Luo Ning to lend it to him?
As if seeing Iman’s doubts, Luo Ning took the initiative to explain: “Don’t worry, although the game cabin is a custom-made birthday gift, since it was given to me, it is now my property. I have the right to do with it as I like. It’s idle in my hands anyway, so you should use it.”
“Great!” Iman hugged Luo Ning happily.
When he is happy, he rushes to hug people. This habit has existed since he was a child. Luo Ning really admires him for even rushing up unceremoniously to hug alphas.
Next up, Luo Fei’s side.
