Chapter 53.1 - The truth
Chapter 53.1 - The truth
Mo Han unexpectedly entered the finals, and went against Iman for the championship.
Having been with mechs since he was a child, Iman knows every part of a mech like the back of his hand, so Mo Han naturally had no chance of winning against him. In fact, Mo Han felt like being able to enter the finals was mostly due to luck. In the semi-finals, he happened to be grouped with Luo Fei, and he relied on his comprehensive understanding of Luo Fei to win. He knows Luo Fei’s rhythm very well, and seized an opportunity to counterattack – against other opponents, he might not be so lucky.
Iman vs. Mo Han, the final result was 2:0, and Iman won the championship.
This also confirmed Ling An’s previous speculation: Luo Fei can beat other experts, and has a great chance of winning against Iman, but he is likely to lose to Mo Han, because Mo Han knows Luo Fei the best. And Mo Han’s own strength has not yet reached the level of top players like Iman and Luo Fei, so when he fought Iman, he lost 0:2.
Next, Luo Fei dueled with Senior Xiao Weiming, who was eliminated by Iman in the semi-finals, and won third place in the competition with a score of 2:1. Xiao Weiming was last year’s overall champion, and Luo Fei’s victory against him also proved his strength.
After the matches finished, there was an awards ceremony.
The guest of honor invited this time is Mr. Brian, the president of the Mech Association. He walked up to the three winners with a custom-made mech, and presented the prizes to the three with a smile.
When presenting the award to Luo Fei, he leaned close to Luo Fei’s ear and said something meaningful: “Good performance.”
Luo Fei accepted the prize with a smile, pretending to be calm and said: “Thank you, President.”
Brian glanced at him, said nothing more, then turned around and walked up to Mo Han to present the next prize.
The runner-up prize is a white combat mech, which happens to be Mo Han’s favorite color. The tall and majestic humanoid combat mech made of special metal materials shone brightly under the light. The lines of the mech were extremely smooth, and every part was perfect – this is a mech made by Mr. Brian, the genius of the imperial mech manufacturing.
Brian seldom makes C-class mechs, and the audience couldn’t help feeling envious of Mo Han.
Mo Han was very excited, but maintained calm on the surface, and politely accepted the mech space button.
With a slight smile, Brian said, “I know you like to study intelligent systems. I will also give you the code to crack the internal system of this mech. You can research and modify it as you like.”
Mo Han was startled, and his heart was full of gratitude. “Thank you, President!”
Brian patted him on the shoulder lightly. He admired this outstanding young man very much. In addition, his son liked Mo Han very much, and even brought Mo Han to his house as a guest.
The champion came at the end. Looking at his smiling son standing on the podium, Brian’s eyes were full of love. If it weren’t for the presence of so many spectators, he really wanted to reach out and rub the little guy’s platinum blonde hair.
Brian controlled the impulse, and smiled at his son instead. “Good job.”
Iman smiled happily. “Give me the prize!”
The prize was a fiery red mech. Brian smiled and handed the space button to Iman.
After the awards ceremony, Brian took a group photo with the three young people on the podium. Luo Fei purposely stood on the left side of Mo Han this time, and took the opportunity to take a closer look behind his ear. His hair was already dry, covering up the mole, but when he turned his head, the red mole was still there – it was not Luo Fei’s illusion.
He really has the same red mole as Mo Lin. What’s going on?
Luo Fei was so confused and couldn’t sort out his thoughts for a while.
Iman was very excited. After receiving the award, he offered to treat his friends to dinner and called Ludwig.
He actually gave Ludwig his prize from the Mech Contest directly. Ludwig could only say with a stiff expression, “This is your prize, why are you giving it to me?”
Iman said: “I’ve seen many of these mechs. I won the prize, just to give it to you!”
Ludwig: “…”
An omega winning the championship prize for an alpha… this is weird no matter how one considers it.
Seeing his roommate’s face grow stiffer, Luo Fei was amused, but he still helped Iman by saying: “Just accept it. Iman can make mechs himself, and he doesn’t need this, so he might as well give it to you. This way can also bring out the greater value of this mech.”
Iman gave Luo Fei an appreciative look, and said, “That’s right, didn’t I say that I would give you tuition for teaching me? The mechs I make are not as perfect as my father’s, so use this as my tuition fee instead.”
Ludwig had no choice but to accept it in embarrassment.
Sitting next to him, Mo Han quickly understood – Iman fell in love with Ludwig and is trying to chase him.
One of these two is passionate like fire, the other is cold like ice, they are a perfect match together.
Are Luo Fei and I a good match?
Mo Han looked up at Luo Fei, but found that the other party was distracted, as if thinking about something in his mind.
Mo Han asked with concern: “What’s wrong with you?”
Luo Fei came back to his senses, coughed, and said, “It’s nothing, let’s eat first.”
***
The four returned to the hotel together after dinner.
Based on the organizing committee’s arrangements, contestants can continue to live in the hotel today, but they will have to check out collectively and go back to school tomorrow. It was still early, and Iman had nothing to do, so he took Ludwig to the mech training ground of Capital Star, urging Ludwig to try his newly acquired mech. Ludwig couldn’t resist him, and could only follow with a serious face.
Mo Han was a bit tired and wanted to go back to his room to rest, so Luo Fei walked him to the door.
When they were about to say goodbye, Luo Fei suddenly smiled and said, “By the way, you got second place, do you want to tell your family?”
“I’ll talk to my father later.”
“Share this good news with your brother too. If Mo Lin finds out, he will be happy for you.”
Mo Han: “…”
Mo Lin, this name that has not been mentioned for a long time suddenly came out of Luo Fei’s mouth. Mo Han’s heart jumped slightly, thinking that he had noticed something. But after careful observation, Luo Fei’s expression was his usual gentleness; it seems that asking him to share the good news with his brother was just said casually.
Mo Han nodded calmly and said, “I will.”
“Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Mo Lin for a long time. How is his condition? Is his mental state better?” Luo Fei asked with concern.
The First Prince’s words seemed like a polite inquiry. Mo Han didn’t think too much about it, and said calmly, “It’s still the same.”
Luo Fei smiled and said: “As a brother, you should also pay more attention to him. He cried quite pitifully last time. I think he was complaining that you looked down on him. In fact, he really cares about you in his heart. When you’re free, you should video chat with him more, don’t let him think too much by himself.”
“I know,” Mo Han replied.
Luo Fei nodded: “Then you rest early, I’ll go back first.”
Looking at Luo Fei’s back as he turned and left, Mo Han suddenly had a bad feeling in his heart.
Was Luo Fei suspicious? Or is he just casually caring about his “brother”?
