Chapter 1976 - 1972: Power of Word Spirit
Chapter 1976: Chapter 1972: Power of Word Spirit
Their outfits were truly bizarre; each one looked as fierce as a demon, leaving others in awe.
In contrast, Xue An appeared much more pleasing to the eye in his white clothes.
Especially with the warm, jade-like aura emanating from him, many passing women couldn’t help but take a second look.
Those bold enough whispered a few words to their companions, then burst into tinkling laughter.
But most just stole a glance at Xue An, then ran away with flushed cheeks.
Xue An smiled faintly and said softly, "Let’s go; finding the Vast Righteous Academy comes first."
With that, Xue An took a step forward and began to walk.
Xue An’s words snapped Yun Yang out of his blissful daydreams. He wiped the drool from his mouth and said in a deep voice, "Let’s go!"
The group followed Xue An onward.
But whether due to carelessness or some other reason, Yun Yang and the others were unaware that after they left, two young men in blue appeared at their previous location.
The two looked in the direction Yun Yang and the others had gone, their expressions grave.
"There’s something very wrong with the aura of these people. There must be a big issue. You go report to Third Madame, while I follow them!" said the slightly older youth in a deep voice.
"Brother Ling, maybe I should be the one to track them. You..." the other youth suggested worriedly.
"Cut the nonsense; your skills are far too lacking!"
With that, the young man quickly walked a few steps and then blended into the crowd, disappearing without a trace.
The other youth gritted his teeth, then turned and left.
Xue An walked at the front, leisurely strolling down the street, occasionally stopping to watch the street performers displaying their skills.
When a performance was particularly exciting, he would even clap and cheer.
Yun Yang and the others following behind were left speechless and bewildered.
You’re a dignified Half-step Immortal King, having seen the grandest of scenes, yet you’re so interested in street performers?
When Xue An cheered for a young girl balancing on a huge vat, Yun Yang couldn’t help but step forward and say, "Brother Ling Zun, didn’t you say we should look for the Vast Righteous Academy? Why are you watching these trivial performances?"
"It’s all part of the search," Xue An replied, smiling innocently.
"Search? How are you searching?" Yun Yang asked, skeptical.
"Look, each of these people has unique skills. What if among them there’s a cultivator from the Vast Righteous Academy? I must carefully evaluate!" Xue An laughed even more joyfully.
Yun Yang almost choked, finding it hard to breathe, coughed repeatedly, yet dared not get angry, only saying helplessly, "Have you found any?"
Xue An shook his head, "No, it seems the Vast Righteous Academy hides very well, but I think we’ll find it soon enough ahead!"
With that, Xue An turned and continued walking.
As soon as he turned, the smile on Yun Yang’s face vanished instantly, replaced by coldness and a murderous look.
"Master Yang...," one of his subordinates whispered, approaching him.
Yun Yang gestured for silence, and said lightly, "Follow him, I want to see what tricks he can play!"
Continuing down this long street, passing over a small arched bridge, Xue An and his companions arrived at a more bustling area.
Here, the street shops were all adorned with bright red lanterns, music of strings and wind instruments echoing within, applause and cheers never fading.
Various restaurants and taverns filled the street, aromas wafting outside, the clinking of cups and dice resounded, filling the entire street with the human smoke and fire of the world.
Yun Yang and his companions couldn’t stop sneaking glances at the women on the street, their expressions growing increasingly lascivious and excited.
Xue An, unfazed, walked straight to a grand tea house in the middle of the street.
At that moment, loud applause was erupting from within the tea house, as if about to lift the roof with its volume.
Xue An looked up at the tea house and then stepped inside.
Yun Yang and the others followed.
Inside the tea house, they found it packed with people upstairs and downstairs, all watching the central stage intently.
On the stage was a desk, behind which stood a young girl in a light-colored qipao, her features delicate.
At this moment, she was telling stories, her voice cool and ethereal as she narrated enticing tales one after another.
The entire tea house was enraptured.
Xue An stood at the back of the crowd, watching quietly.
Yun Yang and his companions didn’t urge him on, as they too were captivated by the young girl on stage.
Though not particularly powerful, these people were at least half-step Great Luo; yet, they were deeply drawn to this girl.
Especially Yun Yang, whose eyes were overflowing with greed and excitement.
For he could clearly sense the purity of the girl’s aura, ideal for serving as a cauldron for dark cultivators.
This also meant the girl was worth a lot.
Just then, the girl’s voice suddenly changed, and the story she told reached its climax, the plot filled with intrigue. In front of her, phantoms began to materialize, changing shape with her narration.
Yun Yang shuddered and said in amazement, "The words create reality?"
Xue An shook his head, "No, it should be the Power of Word Spirit."
Even so, Yun Yang and the others were very excited.
Because along their journey, they had only seen ordinary people without a trace of spiritual power, now suddenly encountering a girl with the Power of Word Spirit, suggesting that the Vast Righteous Academy was not far.
"Damn, this young girl is so fresh, she could be squeezed for water, and she even has the Power of Word Spirit, truly tempting!" Yun Yang’s subordinate said eagerly.
At this moment, Xue An said calmly, "If you want to alert the target, feel free to act now."
Hearing this, Yun Yang glared at his subordinates and laughed, "Brother Ling Zun jests; my brothers aren’t that shortsighted. We’ll devise a plan once the crowd disperses."
Xue An didn’t comment, merely watching the stage quietly.
After a moment, the girl’s voice suddenly grew high and fierce, filled with a sense of killing intent. As she spoke, countless blades appeared around her, casting a shadow over the whole tea house.
The crowd gasped in astonishment.
At that moment, the girl slapped the table dramatically and said in a cool, crisp tone, "To know what happens next, listen next time!"
With these words, she rose gracefully and bowed to the audience below.
Instantly, the entire tea house shook with thundering applause.
