Chapter 2649 - 2650: Cooperation
Chapter 2649: Chapter 2650: Cooperation
Looking at the radiant woman in front of him, glowing like a star, Du Fan became increasingly bewildered.
It wasn’t until Hei King, standing beside him, coughed twice that he snapped out of it, hastily extending his hand for a light handshake.
"Miss Qin, you’re too kind. Who am I to deserve such attention from you?"
Qin Yu smiled, glancing around, "Can we talk inside?"
"Ah! Of course, please excuse my rudeness, do come in!"
Du Fan quickly led the way, and the group entered the room.
Although the building appeared quite shabby from the outside, the inside was surprisingly spacious, not exactly luxurious but quite decent.
At this moment, Du Fan’s unruly subordinates had long been dismissed.
The room was quiet. Once they were seated, Qin Yu waved off the tea and snacks offered by Du Fan, speaking in a deep voice.
"Mr. Du, there’s no need for pleasantries. To be frank, you must be curious why I’ve come to see you!"
Du Fan nodded, "I am indeed a bit puzzled."
"Actually, there is something I need to ask of you!"
Du Fan almost thought he misheard, pointing to himself, "Ask me?"
"Yes!"
"Miss Qin, you must be joking. As the heiress of the Qin Group, powerful and wealthy, you must have no reason to seek anything from a mere hustler like me."
Qin Yu did not directly respond to Du Fan’s words but instead looked toward a desk nearby.
On it lay a stack of documents, intelligence that Du Fan had gathered.
"Mr. Du, are you also looking for the time-space stone?"
Du Fan gave an awkward smile, "Who isn’t looking for the time-space stone nowadays? I’m merely joining the crowd."
Qin Yu walked straight to the desk, picked up the documents, glanced through them, and then nodded approvingly.
"Mr. Du, you truly are talented. These documents are very clearly organized; obviously, you’ve put in a lot of effort."
Du Fan said nothing because he knew Qin Yu had more to say. She certainly hadn’t come all this way just to praise him.
Sure enough.
Qin Yu turned her head to look at Du Fan, "But Mr. Du, do you think you can find the time-space stone with just these?"
Du Fan was silent.
Qin Yu chuckled, "I’m sure you know in your heart that trying to find the time-space stone with this is like a pipe dream! Because not only you, but the entire Earth’s powerful figures are already on the move."
"In such fierce competition, even if there were clues, do you think it would be your turn?"
Du Fan’s face grew increasingly grim.
This had indeed been a nagging problem for him.
"I’m not saying this to discourage you. After all, I’ve offered a huge reward, so I want to locate the time-space stone as much as anyone. But the current progress is not promising, so I’ve made a decision."
"What decision?"
Qin Yu looked at Du Fan and slowly said, "Earth is only so big, and two time-space stones have already been found. The chances of finding another are slim, so I’ve decided to explore outer space."
Du Fan was visibly shaken before lowering his head and saying, "That’s a good idea, but if you intend to do that, why come to me?"
Qin Yu smiled at the slightly uneasy Du Fan.
"It seems Mr. Du still doesn’t trust me. After all I’ve said, I’m sure you’ve guessed what I want!"
Du Fan continued to shake his head, "I really don’t understand what you’re talking about. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now."
With that, Du Fan stood and made to leave.
But at this moment, Qin Yu said calmly, "I’ve heard that a cousin of yours was once wanted by the Federal Credential Bureau, and then vanished without a trace. Is that true?"
Du Fan froze, then forced a laugh, "So what if it’s true? Just because my cousin committed a crime, does that mean I have to pay the price? Besides, I don’t know where he is now; he’s probably long dead."
Qin Yu shook her head, "That’s not what I meant. I’ve heard that your cousin isn’t dead but has joined the galaxy’s largest pirate organization, Saint Diss."
As soon as she finished speaking, Du Fan abruptly turned, glaring at Qin Yu fiercely.
"What do you want?"
In that instant, this once upward-climbing thug, trying to wash away his dark background, revealed his true ferocity.
But Qin Yu remained unfazed, calmly saying, "I want to cooperate with you!"
"Cooperate?" Du Fan was stunned; he hadn’t expected Qin Yu to say that.
"Yes, cooperation!"
Qin Yu stood and said calmly, "Because I have definitive information about a time-space stone."
Du Fan looked at Qin Yu in shocked disbelief.
Qin Yu smiled, "You don’t need to doubt the truth of my words. I only ask you this - do you have a cousin who joined Saint Diss?"
After much consideration, Du Fan finally nodded with difficulty, "Yes!"
"Very well, you’re honest, and honesty is essential for cooperation. I can now tell you my information: there is a time-space stone within Saint Diss!"
Du Fan’s eyes widened.
"You probably find it hard to believe, but I’m not lying to you because the person who told me this information was my grandfather!"
"Old Master Qin?" Du Fan was startled.
Qin Yu nodded, "Yes!"
It was through her account that Du Fan finally understood what was happening.
Qin Yuan was nearly killed by his nephew Qin Tian, and it was Xue An who saved him. After recovering, he slowly regained his energy.
And when learning that Xue An was searching for the time-space stone, the elder Qin suddenly remembered something.
When he was in charge of the Qin Group, he had dealings with Saint Diss, the pirate organization.
Later, he inadvertently overheard the pirates mention there was a peculiar stone in the hands of their leader.
At the time, Qin Yuan didn’t think much of it, and subsequently, the Qin Group decided not to expand its business externally, severing ties with Saint Diss.
Unexpectedly, today, this casually overheard information proves critical.
The problem, however, is that Saint Diss is the most mysterious and powerful pirate organization in the galaxy.
It comprises not only Earthlings but many exiles from various races or sects.
These desperate people form the galaxy’s most ruthless outlaw organization.
No one knows their exact whereabouts.
Unless you have contacts inside.
After hearing Qin Yu’s account, Du Fan finally came to a realization and said bitterly, "So you thought of me?"
Qin Yu nodded, "Yes, because your cousin joined Saint Diss, there must be a link between you and him. Only through you can we locate this organization."
