Chapter 2980 - 2981: Demonic Chaos Unleashed
Chapter 2980: Chapter 2981: Demonic Chaos Unleashed
Xue An first took out the piece of the Celestial Mirror he obtained from the hands of the Giant Spider.
This fragment had always been kept in the Feixian Temple, and because of its various mysterious features, it was also revered as the sect’s treasure and named the Myriad Spirits Mirror.
Holding it now, it indeed shimmered with brilliant colors and was enveloped by a variety of illusions, clearly not an ordinary artifact.
Xue An then took out his own Celestial Mirror from his internal space.
As soon as it appeared, the two mirrors simultaneously emitted dazzling radiance, reflecting and connecting with each other.
However, the Myriad Spirits Mirror obtained from the Feixian Temple continued to tremble, as if resisting the erosion from the other half of the Celestial Mirror.
Xue An’s eyes flashed, and an incredibly powerful Divine Sense burst forth, forming an all-encompassing suppression on the Myriad Spirits Mirror.
The Myriad Spirits Mirror, which had been trembling incessantly, finally calmed down and was then engulfed by the radiance.
Yet through the resplendent surface, it was clear that although the Myriad Spirits Mirror was submerged in brilliance, the speed of their fusion was exceedingly slow.
This was entirely different from the previous Celestial Mirror fragments Xue An had acquired.
Those fragments had almost perfectly fused together the moment they were obtained, without much effort required.
Nevertheless, Xue An had anticipated this outcome.
In fact, the moment he obtained this Myriad Spirits Mirror, Xue An distinctly sensed the restriction attached to its surface.
This restriction was not a conventional rune restriction understood in secular cultivation, but rather an energy field composed of concentrated evil energy.
It can be imagined that this Myriad Spirits Mirror was probably refined by many powerful evil creatures before forming such an energy field.
To reunite and restore the mirror now, this layer of energy field must first be eradicated.
But this is easier said than done.
Even someone as strong as Xue An could not break this outer shell while ensuring the mirror inside remained intact.
Hence he had to slowly wear away this outer layer of energy field with painstaking effort.
This was also why he had Nezha protect him,
After all, at this pace, complete fusion would take at least three days.
And three days... is enough for many events to occur!
Xue An slowly closed his eyes, beginning to suppress the Myriad Spirits Mirror with undivided attention.
It was at this very moment that Great Sun Island was thrown into turmoil.
All that occurred before the Feixian Temple spread throughout Great Sun Island through the mouths of the onlookers gathered there.
In no time, the entire realm was in upheaval.
Numerous sect leaders could not believe their ears after hearing about it.
In a particular sect.
"What are you saying? Hundreds of people from Feixian Temple were all devoured by an evil creature, yet this creature was killed by a mere boy?" a white-bearded elder suddenly opened his eyes, asking sharply.
"Absolutely true!" the subordinate replied.
The elder fell into contemplation, only speaking after a long pause: "So, was the incident in Senluo Valley also his doing?"
"Indeed!"
"Who is this person really?"
"There have been exhaustive investigations, yet all were in vain! People only know he is called Xue An, first appearing in the Literary Cavern, then moving through the Palace of Light and other places, acting decisively with enigmatic power!"
"This person is definitely not ordinary, keep watching and investigating!"
"Yes!"
"And...," the elder paused.
"What more does the ancestor wish to instruct?"
"Is it true that evil creature has perished?"
"Yes! A disciple saw it with his own eyes!"
"That could spell trouble!" the elder said with grave seriousness, "An evil creature capable of devouring the entire Feixian Temple is no ordinary being, likely a supreme dominator, and such an existence’s demise will surely invite frenzied reprisal!"
The middle-aged disciple shuddered, "Then what do you suggest, ancestor...?"
The white-bearded elder sighed looking skyward, "I suspect it won’t be long before the Evil Creature Army comes to retaliate, and thereafter, Great Sun Island will know no peace ever again!"
"What should we do then?"
"For now, we must not act rashly. Doesn’t the Firearms Society openly support Xue An? Let’s see what they do first!"
"Yes!"
Discussions like this were taking place in various parts of Great Sun Island, with possible variations, but the essence was the same: to wait and see.
However, the Firearms Society was unaffected by these opinions and, under Yang Fu’s leadership, mobilized in full force.
This mobilization is not a metaphor, but a genuine action.
Under Yang Fu’s command, a tremendous, roughly-styled airship made its majestic way towards the Feixian Temple.
Upon reaching the Feixian Temple’s skies, Yang Fu needed no instructions from Nezha, promptly ordering his men to spread out and guard key positions.
Having completed all this, Yang Fu cheerfully approached Nezha.
"How are you, young sir!"
Nezha rather enjoyed Yang Fu’s form of address and nodded slightly, "Good!"
Yang Fu glanced again at the figure enveloped in radiance in the distance, "How long will Mr. Xue need to complete his task?"
"About three days, I guess!"
Yang Fu nodded upon hearing this, then told his subordinates, "Did you all hear? Be on alert for these three days!"
"Yes!"
Wei Qingfeng and others responded in unison.
Yang Fu’s gaze, however, lingered on Nai Yingying, who was smoking a cigarette in the distance while playing on her phone.
Strange... what kind of rules does this evil female embody? Why even I can’t see through?
......
In the endless wasteland of time, the temporal giant serpent Shuming was still in slumber.
After days of recuperation, the once grievously-injured Shuming was gradually recovering.
Though its shattered Dragon Scales hadn’t been fully restored, the bones previously exposed beneath were healed at last.
Yet as it slumbered, a bizarre and indescribable silhouette suddenly descended onto this wilderness.
In its appearance, the once soundly-sleeping Shuming instantly awakened, its gigantic head lifted, staring fixatedly with eyes as vast as the sun and moon at the figure.
"Hehehe, old friend, you finally woke up!" the figure quivered while letting out a piercing laugh.
"Nyume, you damned bastard, what are you doing here?" Shuming’s voice boomed like thunder.
The figure, resembling overlapping shadows constantly dispersing and merging, chuckled strangely at the words.
"Old friend, must you speak so impolitely? I heard you were hurt and came specially to check on you!"
"I don’t need your concern, get off my territory now, or don’t blame me for being harsh!" Shuming growled menacingly.
Though Nyume’s form trembled and crawled, it visibly shrugged.
"Your temper is as fiery as ever, such rage won’t expedite your recovery you know!"
Before the words fell silent, a time string flung out, striking Nyume and sending it flying.
