Chapter 1590: The Dragon Protection Sword
Chapter 1590: The Dragon Protection Sword
The projections that manifested behind those two were those two: a multicolored world and a river of chains. These two primals chose the easiest construct to master: the Grand Dao Source and the Source Qi Space.
The Terracotta General utilized a unique energy known as the Dragon Earth Qi to enhance his technique. His body, along with his shield, turned copper before launching himself at his opponent. What would happen if the hardest material between Heaven and Earth hit someone with unimaginable speed?
The force created by an object traveling at such a velocity would affect the fundamental laws of the universe. The object itself should be destroyed in the process, but the fact that it’s the "hardest" material implied it was virtually indestructible. In other words, the puppet would remain intact, but his enemy would suffer tremendously.
At least, that’s how things should have proceeded. However, after traveling less than a thousand meters, an explosion threw off all the general’s momentum, forcing him to take a dozen steps backward in the void. But this was not the end.
Before he could regain his bearings from this sudden attack, another explosion occurred underneath the general’s feet. His body was intact, but the attack also contained a potent soul spell. The Terracotta General swiftly protected himself, but an arrow headed directly for his eyesocket. His shield moved on its own to defend, but a third wave of attack reached him.
The general’s insides exploded as if someone had shoved a bomb down his throat into his stomach. Terogene Khan fired three more arrows with the property of weakening defense. While the internal explosion was successful, the damage was not as satisfactory as he had wished.
The Terracotta General raised his shield, which turned into an earth sphere that enveloped his entire body. The sphere then flew to every corner of this space, triggering numerous explosions and other forms of attacks. His analysis was correct. His opponent used a domain full of invisible traps to weaken and eventually hunt him.
Terogene Khan clenched his fist to create a net made of an unknown web, trying to catch the sphere. The web not only captured the earth sphere, but also became the sharpest object in the world. As the dust particle blew with the wind, no signs of clay or life were detected, which made the khan frown.
A hunter must have the best eyesight to detect or track prey from miles away. However, as he scanned the surroundings, the khan was baffled that his target had disappeared. Such an act should have worried anyone, but a smile crept on the corner of his mouth instead. The hunt will only be satisfying if the prey can put up a decent fight.
"Partner, it’s time for a new hunt," Terogene Khan said as he summoned a white tiger with three eyes.
"Who or what are we hunting this time?" the three-eyed tiger asked.
"A powerful puppet."
"Do you really need to call me for such a thing?"
"I wouldn’t do it if it were not necessary.
"True," the creatures nodded. Its three eyes turned golden as it observed the surroundings. "The opponent seems to have run away into the Source Qi Space. No, that’s just a distraction. Their location should be — watch out."
A towering earth element hand appeared from the void, trying to slap Toregene into meat paste. Luckily, his spirit companion detected the attack and jumped in front of him. The tiger’s third eye released a golden light beam that stopped the attack for a brief moment, which was more than enough for Toregene to teleport to a safe distance. However, the tiger did not survive.
’Don’t worry, old friend, we will see each other soon,’ Toregene thought. The spirit creature was bound to his soul, meaning it would remain immortal as long as he lived. However, every time it died, Toregene needed to recondense it using numerous rare resources.
"Titatic Mammoth Spirit, please bless me with your presence. I wish to suppress the earth, and all its encompassing power," Terogene Khan chanted. A colossal elephant foot that covered the entire domain manifested in the sky; it trembled slightly, releasing a power that sealed all the earth energy or earth law in this area. Even the Earth Grand Dao Source started operating at the lowest level.
The Terracotta General did not stand for such a detrimental technique. His colossal earth hand reached out to stop this power of suppression. His efforts were successful for a brief moment, but then the Titanic Mammoth used its second leg, rendering any attempts to stop it useless.
’That’s one of the Barbarian Race’s true spirits,’ The Terracotta General realized. This spirit was not created by a spell or technique; it was one of the spirits worshiped by the Barbarian Clan for trillions upon trillions of years.
Among the Primal Lineage, the Barbarian Clan has always been the strongest and one with the most potential, due to their spirit temples. Their clan is composed of more than 10,000 tribes that all worship a spirit.
The top 10 tribes are considered royalty, and their leader — the Khan — is usually chosen from them. They are also protected by the most powerful spirits, including the Titanic Mammoth, which could be argued is currently the strongest due to the rise of Terogene and his tribe.
After weakening his opponent, the khan summoned an artifact in the shape of a cube. The item released a pulse of energy that rewrote the rules or laws of this domain.
[Order: All attacks or movements will be limited by the cultivator’s stamina.
[Disorder: The caster is not immune to this rule.]
How did ancient humans survive the harsh environment? Any cultivator with a bit of knowledge and culture would answer that ancient sages who had an affinity for spiritual energy swiftly developed breathing methods that helped ancient humans survive and thrive. But what about the humans living in mortal worlds?
The answer is human intelligence and endurance. When hunting animals, humans would tire them out by forcing them to run for miles, and when they ran out of stamina, the hunters would come for the final blow. Terogene Khan once saw such a hunt during his youth, and inspired by it, he created this tactic.
The Terracotta General frowned. His mind calculated his next move, but before he could find a solution, he suddenly smelled a well-hidden odor. ’Is this poison? It seems to be a Yang Poison.’ He cast a poison protection spell on himself, but oddly enough, the poison suddenly changed to Yin-attribute. This was not an issue since he had protection for all kinds of poison, but when the poison showed a third attribute, the general knew something was wrong.
’A multi-attribute poison? No, it’s one with changing properties. The question is why?’ He thought for a moment before realizing the enemy’s tactic. Each time he changed his protection, the general was technically casting a new spell, meaning his stamina was being drained by the artifact. Meanwhile, his opponent only used one spell: the ever-changing poison.
[Ultimate Poison Protection]
The general combined all the poison spells and techniques he knew into one ultimate spell. His approach was immediately proven successful; however, it also drained a decent portion of his stamina. So, he added a protection technique against stamina drainage. His attempt had allowed him to recuperate a small portion of lost stamina, but it did not stop the effect of the artifact.
Terogene Khan showed his palm, showing a purple seed. One of this world’s greatest hunters is not humans or animals, but plant lifeforms. So, his seed grew into this vine that almost filled the entire domain. Then, the vine’s tentacles directly attacked.
The Terracotta General had limited space to move, and these vines whipped at him with unimaginable speed. He knew what his opponent was planning. The vines only gave him two options: evade or block. However, regardless of what he chooses, he will have to use numerous techniques to block this onslaught of attacks, therefore weakening his stamina.
After a quick analysis, the guardian of Qin chose the third option: annihilate everything in its path. A Yin-Yang Symbol manifested under his feet, allowing him to switch all his defensive powers into attack potency. He swung his shield to release a terrifying earthquake that eradicated every atom in these vines.
[Snake Strike]
Terogene Khan’s spear struck at the perfect time, heading directly for a killing blow to the head. This attack’s timing could not be more perfect, surpassing the general’s reaction speed. A popping sound spread through every corner of the sky, but Terogene Khan frowned as he summoned the spear back to his hand.
’Protection from death? I guess I should not expect less from a Defense Dao expert,’ he analyzed.
The general’s head regenerated. ’The mission cannot be accomplished unless the highest form of defense is activated,’ the Terracotta General analyzed. With that in mind, a third projection manifested behind him, showing a purple-back world — Primordial Chaos.
Terogene Khan did not care about this Grand Construct at first after noticing how shaky the puppet’s connection was. However, his relaxed mood swiftly dissipated when he saw that the latter had summoned a sword with a dragon head for the hill. As soon as the weapon manifested, his opponent’s connection to Primordial Chaos dramatically improved.
