Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1783: Wangchen’s Path

Chapter 1783: Wangchen’s Path

Wang Wei calmly watched as Wangchen passed out as the blood pool turned clear. His mother flew over and fetched him; she sighed in relief after determining his vitals were intact and that he had just fainted. Chenli finally looked at Wang Wei: "You should be satisfied, right?"

"That will do for now," Wang Wei calmly stated before taking another sip of his wine. "Once he wakes up, tell him to come bright and early; we have a lot of work to do."

The next morning, Wangchen walked into the main room of the cave as if he had won the lottery. "What can you say now? I resisted until the end."

"Not bad," Wang Wei nodded.

"That’s it?"

"What else do you want?"

"You can say more than that. I suffered through all that pain for..."

"For your future," Wang Wei calmly stated." I’ve granted you a heaven-defying opportunity, and you rose to the occasion. As for your performance? Brat, the number of years I have been alive is probably beyond your mortal comprehension. In terms of talents, what haven’t I seen? Getting a "not bad" from me is a high achievement that 99% of people cannot receive."

Wangchen stood with his lips twitching. He hated it when his teacher used his age to suppress him. The most depressing thing is that he cannot tell whether the latter is truly old or just pretending to be. His mother — despite looking physically young — exudes a certain mature charm. Meanwhile, his teacher’s carefree, rogue-like demeanor makes it impossible to tell whether he’s truly old and just has a strange personality, or if he’s just pretending.

"Fine, fine, as always, you win."

"As I keep telling you, you’re a few yuan epoch too young to win a debate against me," Wang Wei sneered as he continued enjoying his fruit wine. "Alright, enough with the nonsense: it’s time to start cultivating."

Wangchen’s eyes shone with immense brilliance; he’s been waiting for this day for close to 30 years. Although age doesn’t matter much in cultivation, he has 10 years to catch up to his peers’ level.

"What are you going to teach me?"

"Under normal circumstances, I would recommend you start cultivating your Fusan Clan’s technique, but given your circumstances, I don’t recommend you do so."

"No way," Chenli immediately butted in. Typically, she wouldn’t question his decision, but this involves reviving the Redcloud Fusan Clan. "He’s the only remaining heir of our clan: why would he not cultivate their legacy technique?"

"Ma, calm down and let the teacher explain," Wangchen held his mother back.

Wang Wei was not surprised by her outburst. Most worlds value lineage and the continuation of legacy. And in this secret realm, which primarily cultivates bloodlines, descendants, and lineages are even more valued than in the Eternal Ascension World.

Glancing at the pair, Wang Wei calmly explained: "I don’t know how the people of this world feel about it, but where I come from, being too close or directly related to a Saint is not a good thing.

"You just awakened a Saint Bloodline, will cultivate a technique probably created by your bloodline source or by mimicking him, and in the future, you’re probably going to cultivate Flame Dao. In my world, you are simply a walking vessel for the Flame Chaos Demon God."

Chenli made an unpleasant expression while Wangchen frowned, "Are you suggesting Lord Fusan will use my bloodline to take over my body?"

"That’s absurd," Chenli snorted coldly.

"There is a saying about rulers where I’m from," Wang Wei calmly stated. "An emperor shouldn’t care about officials who are suspected of rebellion, but he must exterminate anyone capable of rebellion. Do you understand?"

Wangchen’s frown deepened. He understood the implications. Even if Fusan has no intention of taking over his body, he should be wary just because he has the capability. After all, he has only one life, and no matter how much he wants to risk everything for another’s kindness or whim.

"You’re not really listening to him, are you?" Chenli asked her son.

"Let me put it another way," Wang Wei continued: "Do you have ambitions to become a Saint? Maybe even reach Fusan’s level and beyond?"

"Of course," Wangchen nodded vigorously.

"Then think of it like this. You use Fusan’s bloodline, his technique, and even his Dao — how do you expect to surpass him one day? No, how can you even reach his level? All Saints Path must be unique, but you’re just walking his path."

Wangchen suddenly felt his mind open; yes, he was walking on someone’s path, so how could he proclaim he would surpass them? No, even reaching Lord Fusan’s level would be a miracle. After hearing these words, even Chenli was momentarily speechless. A part of her wanted her son to have a bright future, but her deep obsession has always been the revival of the Redcloud Fusan Clan.

Wangchen took a deep breath to calm down. "What you said makes sense, but if I walk a different path, wouldn’t my bloodline become useless?"

"It would be stupid to give up such a major advantage," Wang Wei shook his head. "What I’m asking you is to not rely entirely on it. You can cultivate the Dao of Extreme Yang, which has a lot in common with Flame Dao. You could cultivate a Water-based technique and use the class with your Flame Bloodline to cultivate the Way of Yin-Yang. You could focus solely on unique attributes and use your bloodline solely as an energy source. Everything is permitted as long as it’s not the Way of the Flame."

Wangchen did not take the decision lightly. He spent days consulting his teacher, and Wang Wei remained relatively neutral, allowing him to make his own choice. He told Wangchen that he could walk a unique Dao, not the base or primary 3800; such a path meant he would not have to compete with the Chaos Demon Gods. But if he chooses to compete against them, anything is fine as long as it’s not Flame.

Wang Wei also dissuaded him after the bastard wanted to cultivate Fate just like himself. Although Wang Wei doesn’t know whether this world has a Supreme Outlaw Trial, fate is a powerful Dao in every world and is usually severely limited by creators or Heaven and Earth. Ultimately, Wangchen chose Yin-Yang; it’s a high Dao with limitless potential, and more importantly, he can receive Wang Wei’s guidance.

As for Chenli, she was convinced when Wang Wei reminded her that the clan can still be revived as long as Wangchen has children, or if he just directly injects his bloodline into others. He just can’t practice the technique himself, but future members of the clan — especially branches — can do so.

Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, a couple of million years passed by. Wangchen had reached the fourth level of the True Power Dao Realm: the Infant Fiendgod Realm. As a matter of fact, he was at the peak, one step away from opening his Gate of Ascension (this world opens it at the 5th level, not the 4th), entering the Dragon-Phoenix Realm, which was the equivalent of the Great Emperor Realm.

Today, Wang Wei summoned Wangchen for an important meeting. The now young and confident Chaos Demon God walked into the room and sat down next to his teacher. He reached out to take the gourd, and his hands were slapped away.

"Why are you calling me?" Wangchen asked while caressing his wrist.

"My main body is about to leave the retreat."

"Oh?"

"I should be ready then to fulfil my promise and help you annihilate the Moonwater Shuiwa Clan."

An intense killing intent emitted from Wangchen’s body. Over the years, he has learned about his enemy. He knew how much the Moonwater Shuiwa Clan had grown after swallowing the foundation of his Fusan Clan. Had it not been for his teacher killing one of their Ancestor Powerhouses, that clan would have successfully become the overlord of the entire Moonwater Domain.

Wang Wei glanced at him but did not offer him any more encouraging words. After living for so long with hatred buried in his heart, Wangchen was mature enough. "I will kill all the older generations, and you need to slaughter all the younger ones. Use this opportunity to not only sublimate your mind, but also condense an Invincible Heart."

"I will," Wangchen nodded, his eyes firmer than the flesh of a Saint-tier body refiner.

"Before that," Wang Wei continued; he waved his hand to summon another pagoda. "I’ve recreated all the most talented individuals of your generation. I’ve even included the ones from my homeworld — albeit their identities are hidden. I need you to defeat all of them — well, most of them."

"What do you mean by that?" Wangchen did not like the last part of that statement.

"I’ve included my younger self and some of the most talented individuals that I’ve either defeated or encountered. I don’t think you can match them, just don’t use it as a learning experience."

"Is this your attempt at using reverse psychology to rile me up?" Wangchen asked while staring at him.

"Since you don’t believe me, you’ll see when you get to the top of this battle pagoda," Wang Wei chuckled.
