Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1784: Know Your Place

Chapter 1784: Know Your Place

Wang Wei lay on a Ta couch with a table beside him. He focused intensely on a piece of information recently sent from the Fate Shadow Guards. He sighed to himself before muttering, "I finally found these rats." Wang Wei squinted. Old Man Black Chess and the two from the Divine Faith Haven have been on his killing list for a while. Previously, he had sent these two to the most dangerous area, but as fate would have it, they survived. Now, Wang Wei was prepared to do it himself.

Chenli walked over and refilled his tea cup. Without raising his head, he took the cup, sipped, and turned the page: information about Wang Guo’s movement was fully displayed before him. The Shadow Guard has recently discovered Xiao Wenque’s location and sent it over. Unfortunately, Xiao Wenque is now a partner with a clan with a living Saint, making it impossible for Wang Guo to get close enough to inject him with the Qi of Calamity.

’I hope this bastard doesn’t expect me to do everything,’ Wang Wei complained. He had already done all the setup for the latter; he would be disappointed if Wang Guo couldn’t even do the last step. "Don’t disappoint the legend of the Heaven Opening Emperor," Wang Wei muttered before continuing to review all the information.

Crack!

A space portal manifested in the room before spewing a dejected and disheveled Wangchen, who immediately glared at his teacher with irate eyes. "You bastard, you cheated."

"Boy, watch your tongue. Even if you’re a grown man, I have no qualms whipping your butt," Wang Wei calmly said without raising his head.

"There is no way these three were real people," Wangchen said with gritted teeth. "You created them to ensure I don’t pass the trial: you cheated!"

Wang Wei put the teacup on the desk before finally looking at the young man, "Didn’t I tell you that some people were anomalies?" One of these people was modeled after me when I was around your age. The second is based on my rival — the only man I’ve ever acknowledged as truly having defeated me. As for the last one? He’s my nephew — a unique talent probably even more special than Saint’s children."

Wangchen took a few steps backward: "So-so, they are real?"

Wang Wei calmly glanced at him. Wangchen’s achievement was excellent. He surpassed young Qiyuan, young Yan Hai, young Wu Hong, young Wang Tian, and most Great Emperors in their youth. However, Wang Wei, Di Tian, and Li Xingwei. Luckily for him, Wang Wei did not add the version of his dad who also became a Mortal Emperor.

"As I said, anomalies," Wang Wei continued. "I can tell you many of the people you defeated become anomalies later in life."

Wangchen stood in a daze for a good minute. "I need to calm down."

Wang Wei calmly looked at him. This world lacked the concept or the incentive to enter the Battle Taboo Realm. As such, after opening the first gate, no one has ever had the ambition of being able to fight above their realms. Pushing Wangchen so far is to influence him, to see if this world’s rules allow it.

"Is he going to be alright?" Chenli asked.

"If his Dao Heart collapsed over such a minor matter, then he’s a true disappointment," he replied coldly.

"Don’t you understand why he wants to be the best? He only wishes to get your app—"

"I’m not his father, nor his master — just his teacher," Wang Wei said. "I put high expectations on him and ensure he can reach them. I don’t care about any type of father issue he has."

"You! How can you be so heartless?"

Wang Wei glanced at her, "I think I’ve been too nice to you two."

A chill ran down Chenli’s spine. As those cold eyes stared at her, something dawned on her: the two — mother and son — were living with a stranger. Despite living together for millions of years, they have never truly known the man’s true face. Yes, he was kind, extremely intelligent, knowledgeable in many subjects, approachable, and a free spirit, but was that truly his personality, or was it a facade he put on? Even if it was his true personality, what about his dark side? No one can reach his level of cultivation without blood on their hands. So, what was this man capable of?

After living with each other for so long, this is the first time she has asked herself all these questions. And the possible answers send a cold chill down her spine, forcing her to wake to the beautiful fantasy she had created about their past living situation.

"I...apologize. I crossed the line," Chenli softly uttered.

"As long as you know your place from now on."

"I will."

What happened with Chenli was a minor issue. A few days later, Wangchen emerged from his retreat. He glanced at Wang Wei with clear and bright eyes, "I won’t give up, teacher, please point me in the right direction."

"You’re not stupid after all," Wang Wei nodded. He pointed his finger, and a new section of the cave’s library slowly materialized. Wangchen rushed inside. Although he sensed something was amiss between his mother and the teacher, his mind was currently only on cultivation, so he did not waste a second reading the contents. He analyzed numerous pieces of information about the Taboo Battle Realm, absorbing their essence like a dry sponge dropped in water. His focus now was only one thing: become an anomaly.

...

Wang Wei opened his eyes and exhaled. His breath shot out like an arrow, leaving a terrifying spatial scar on the room that took half a minute to heal. Given how strong the spatial structure of this world is, this was a rare feat; it’s also a sign of someone who has reached the pinnacle of [Immortality], a 5-star Ancestor Fiendgod Realm powerhouse.

As he clenched his fist, a terrifying, but familiar power, rushed through his veins. His blood and qi were so intense that even one drop of his blood is probably enough to sustain the existence of a small Chaos World capable of giving birth to Paragons. Typically, it would take someone in the same position a significant portion of time to properly control all this power.

However, Wang Wei was simply regaining his former strength — just in a different form. Additionally, with his [Force Control Skill] reaching the limit, it only took him a few seconds to control his new power. He then took one last check inward. As he glanced at the single golden gate hidden deep within his body, a manifestation of the endless potential of the human flesh and spirit, a smile crept onto Wang Wei’s face.

"The Primordial Gate, as this world calls it, is truly beautiful," Wang Wei murmured. One of his greatest achievements in this retreat was not his cultivation realm, but the fact that he fused all three gates and completed the Flesh Quintessence Method up to 90%.

"I wonder what will happen to the gate after I condense the Soul Quintessence," Wang Wei pondered. There is no way the method he created to condense the Flesh Quintessence into a first-step powerhouse will work for becoming a second-step powerhouse. This means that all his work might be in vain if he sanctifies first with his soul.

"But there is another possibility; the fourth gate is also opened, and I need the fifth gate to open the Flesh Quintessence and reach the second step," Wang Wei analyzed. It’s looking more and more like the True Power Dao Gates are the orthodox methods of achieving transcendence, but people don’t have to use them to condense their Flesh Quintessence. On the contrary, it’s looking like it might be easier to use other means than to follow the strict and challenging path of the gates.

The last thing Wang Wei checked was his three Saint foundations. Over the past million years, he’s learned a great deal about how to control and wield their powers since that was the requirement to reach 5-star. But even after supposedly reaching the limit of Immortal cultivation, he felt that there was more potential to tap regarding these three foundations. Sadly, he couldn’t find any information or inspiration; researching alone has proven to be too slow and time-consuming.

"I’ve always thought that Hong’er would be the first to sanctify, but that doesn’t appear as such now," Wang Wei thought. After condensing the Saint Will Prototype and putting the final touch on his Soul Quintessence Method, Wang Wei had only one thing to do before he could sanctify: find his parents to perfect his state of mind and Dao Heart.

After wiping out the Moonwater Shuiwa Clan, recovering the Fusan Clan’s inheritance, and sending Wangchen to the holy land, he can devote himself to completing his soul-transcendent method.

"I’m satisfied with the gain in this world," Wang Wei thought. "If there is one thing I want to do, it’s to find a way to create Essence Source to bring back to the sect. If that doesn’t work, I’ll need to bring enough stones for Hong’er and the three ancestors."

Any achievement helps condense more pillars. So, even though becoming an Ancestor Fiendgod was not a Saint trait, Wang Wei still wanted the people close to him to reach that realm.
