Chapter 1770: First Time Facing Commander-Class Mech! Part-1

Chapter 1770: First Time Facing Commander-Class Mech! Part-1

“DDDIIIEEE!!”

The axe mech came with a loud sound, both in pain and anger!

Despite having already lost one arm, its thrusters roared to life, propelling the machine across the warehouse. Hydraulic pistons compressed beneath its legs before releasing with explosive force.

It abandoned the axe entirely and drove its remaining fist forward, servomotors screaming as kinetic boosters amplified the punch.

Young Aether didn’t meet it with the blades.

Not yet.

Instead, he twisted his wrist, gripping only the slotted ring like a pair of reinforced brass knuckles.

THOOOM!!

Metal collided with metal.

The impact released a circular shockwave that rippled across the area, scattering dust and loose debris in every direction.

The mech’s armoured fist didn’t merely crack.

It imploded.

The metal compressed inward before erupting into countless fragments, as though an invisible hydraulic press had crushed it far beyond its structural limits.

Its final arm vanished in an explosion of twisted steel.

Warning alarms screamed from inside the suit.

“AAARRRGHHHH!!”

Before the crippled mech could retreat, another unit surged forward carrying a massive black composite shield layered with energy-resistant plating.

SKRRREEEEK!!

The Twin Eclipse traced an ivory arc through the air.

The shield split cleanly in half.

Not bent or cracked.

Simply divided with precision as effortlessly as paper.

The surrounding pilots froze.

“…What?”

“It just… cut through it?”

The shield operator instinctively stepped backwards.

Too late.

Young Aether rotated his wrist.

The Twin Eclipse spun around the centre ring as he swung a wide arc.

Slliccckk~

The spinning blades carved across both the shield mech and the crippled axe mech in a single flowing motion.

For a heartbeat…

Nothing happened.

Then…

Thud.

Thud.

Both helmets slid from their neck joints before crashing onto the floor.

Their headless machines remained standing for a brief second before collapsing like puppets whose strings had been severed.

Young Aether slowly lowered the weapon.

A grin spread beneath his helmet.

“Pathetic. Is this seriously what your squadron is capable of? No wonder you’re Commander Number 10. You’re not just the lowest ranked… you’re the lowest quality.”

He chuckled.

“I’ve seen security drones put up a better fight.”

The remaining mech suits erupted with fury.

“You bastard!”

“Kill him!”

“Don’t let him mock the Commander!”

Dozens of propulsion engines ignited simultaneously.

Energy rifles unleashed blazing streams of crimson energy.

From every direction…

Death rushed toward him.

Young Aether simply exhaled.

“…Let’s try something new.”

Instead of charging…

He threw one of the Twin Eclipse blades.

The weapon spun through the battlefield like a silver moon caught in orbit, its rotation accelerating with every meter until the crescents became nothing more than a glowing circular blur.

The incoming plasma beams struck the spinning blade.

Rather than stopping it…

The beams were sliced apart now.

A crimson mech instinctively flinched as the Twin Eclipse slammed into the muzzle of its cannon.

Not the armour.

The barrel.

CRAAACK!!

Microfractures spread across the weapon’s internal focusing chamber in an instant. The compressed energy collapsed inward.

The pilot’s eyes widened.

“What…?”

Step!

Before the realisation could fully register…

Young Aether was already standing beside it.

His second Twin Eclipse flashed upward.

One crescent hooked deep beneath the mech’s armoured hip assembly, locking itself between overlapping metal plates.

Crck!

With a savage twist of his entire body, he ripped upward.

The blade peeled through layer after layer of reinforced alloy, tearing open the mech’s torso from hip to shoulder as though skinning a goat!

“AAAAAAAAARRRGHHHHHH!!”

The entire front section folded backwards like the skin of a peeled fruit before the ruined machine was hurled sideways, crashing violently into the incoming spear mech with enough force to send both machines tumbling across the warehouse.

Everyone flinched in shock.

For a brief second, silence swallowed the area before instinct took over.

One mech instantly ignited its shoulder boosters.

Compressed energy erupted from the exhaust ports.

The machine became a silver missile.

Maximum speed.

The warehouse floor shattered beneath every step as it charged straight toward Aether, intending to reduce him to nothing more than twisted metal.

Aether didn’t move.

Five meters.

Four.

Three.

Two…

Now.

He shifted only half a step.

Nothing flashy.

Nothing exaggerated.

Just enough.

The charging mech missed him by mere centimetres as one Twin Eclipse slipped beneath the gap in its shoulder plating with surgical precision.

But instead of pulling the blade free…

He held onto it.

The mech continued accelerating, unknowingly dragging Aether behind it across the warehouse.

SKRRRREEEEE!!

His armoured boots carved long trenches across the metallic floor as showers of orange sparks erupted beneath his feet. The violent momentum threatened to tear his arms from their sockets, yet his grip never loosened.

“…Let’s see…”

His voice remained calm.

Almost curious.

The instant the mech attempted to shake him loose, Aether bent his knees before planting both boots firmly against its armoured back.

Using the embedded Twin Eclipse as a fixed anchor…

He launched himself upward.

His body flipped gracefully over the mech’s head, suspended weightlessly for the briefest instant beneath the fractured ceiling lights.

The second Twin Eclipse descended.

KRRRSHHH!!

A silver crescent flashed.

The spinning blade carved cleanly through the mech’s helmet before continuing downward, slicing through sensors, processors, and the reinforced visor!

The head separated!!

The now-headless machine continued charging forward under pure momentum.

BOOOOOOM!!

It slammed violently into the reinforced warehouse wall!

Aether casually rotated both Twin Eclipses around his fingers.

The crescent blades spun effortlessly around their slotted rings, producing a low metallic hum… Not from activation.

Simply from movement.

Beneath his helmet, Aether smiled.

The remaining pilots no longer hesitated.

Without giving him even a second to breathe, they attacked together.

One swung a massive war hammer capable of flattening armoured vehicles.

Another thrust a spear wrapped in crackling red arcs.

The last unleashed a barrage of concentrated particle beams while closing the distance with twin combat blades.

A perfectly synchronised assault.

Young Aether tightened his grip.

Step!

The war hammer dented the floor where he had been standing only a heartbeat earlier.

Step!

His first Eclipse intercepted the spear, the spinning crescent redirecting its trajectory instead of meeting it head-on.

CRACK!

The spear glanced away, its energy field collapsing as the weapon’s momentum was stolen.

Before the beam barrage could lock onto him…

He was already gone.

His body flowed between the attacks with uncanny precision, every movement connected to the next as though he were dancing through a storm of steel.

The Twin Eclipses never stopped spinning.

Each rotation became another slash.

Another hook.

He trapped one mech’s helmet between the inner curve of the crescent.

Yank!

The spinning blade locked beneath the neck assembly before Aether violently twisted his wrist.

The entire head was ripped free from the torso.

Warning lights flashed crimson before the lifeless machine collapsed to its knees.

Yet even as he dominated the fight…

His own mech suit was beginning to fail.

It simply couldn’t withstand the monstrous speed his body demanded.

[WARNING: LOWER LIMB STRUCTURAL FAILURE]

The knee joints cracked as showers of sparks burst from the overloaded servos. Internal actuators screamed under unbearable stress while power output fluctuated violently throughout the frame.

[Joint Stabilization Reduced to 99%]

[Warning… Servo Temperature Exceeding Safety Threshold]

Aether ignored every warning.

His movements only became faster.

To the surrounding pilots, his body was becoming increasingly difficult to follow. All they could see were fleeting flashes of ivory light weaving through the battlefield as the Twin Eclipses spun around his fingers like deadly gyroscopes, each rotation carrying enough force to slice through military-grade metal.

The mech lunged.

Aether didn’t even use the blade.

He drove the slotted ring straight into its helmet.

THOOOM!!

The impact crushed the armoured head like thin aluminium foil, sending shards of composite plating exploding outward before the headless body collapsed where it stood.

Without slowing his momentum, the second Twin Eclipse completed another rotation.

Flickkk!

The spinning crescent slipped beneath the ribs of the final mech before piercing straight through its chest.

The blade emerged from the other side in a spray of blood and crackling red energy.

The machines stood frozen like lifeless statues.

Young Aether panted heavily, tightening his fists until the armoured gauntlets creaked. Every movement of the mech suit fought against him instead of flowing with him.

The resistance from its frame irritated him to no end, while the immense strain transferred directly into his joints, leaving his shoulders, elbows, and knees throbbing with every motion.

His own body wasn’t in much better condition.

Fresh cuts covered his arms, chest, abdomen, and legs, while blood slowly trickled beneath the armour’s seams. The worst injury rested just above his forehead, where a deep gash continued to bleed after one of the Twin Eclipses had nearly carved straight into his own skull during the fight.

“I really need to practice fir-!!”

Before he could finish lamenting his own incompetence, every strand of hair on the back of his neck stood upright.

Instinct screamed.

Without thinking, he bent forward.

SHHHRRRKK!!

A gigantic circular saw screamed through the space where his head had been a fraction of a second earlier. The spinning blade sliced through the air with terrifying force, leaving behind a glowing crimson trail of superheated particles before curving back like a guided boomerang.

The weapon slammed neatly into Commander 10’s waiting arm.

Clank!

Mechanical plates shifted with precise clicks as the commander’s forearm unfolded, seamlessly integrating the massive circular saw into the limb itself. Crimson particle vents ignited along its edge, bathing the rotating teeth in an ominous red glow.

“Who are you?”

Commander 10’s voice was Curious.

Truthfully, he hadn’t cared much when the intruder first appeared.

Every division constantly sent spies into rival divisions. Espionage, sabotage, assassination… none of it was anything unusual anymore. Their protocol had always been simple. Kill the infiltrator before they could escape. Even if they somehow managed to capture one alive, the enemy division would remotely execute their own operative before any information could be extracted.

That had always been the case.

Until now.

This man had slaughtered an entire squadron within moments.

Even worse…

His own mech suit couldn’t even keep up with his movements.

Commander-Class mech suits represented the absolute peak of ordinary military technology. The only machines superior to them belonged to Governors and Presidents.

But that didn’t make sense.

If this man truly possessed a Governor-Class mech suit, infiltrating another division alone would border on insanity.

Then…

Who was he?

That question lingered in Commander 10’s mind.

Closely followed by several others.

Why was he so absurdly strong?

What were those bizarre crescent weapons?

How was he moving with such impossible speed despite piloting such an ordinary frame?

None of it made sense.

Still…

Whoever this mysterious man was, Commander 10 knew one thing.

If he managed to capture him alive…

He would sell for an unimaginable fortune.

“Who am I?”

Young Aether smirked beneath his helmet as he tightened his grip around the Twin Eclipse. Blood continued seeping from the countless shallow and deep cuts covering both his body and his mech suit.

None of them were fatal…

But they were irritating enough to constantly remind him just how inexperienced he was with these weapons.

He slowly lowered his stance.

Both Twin Eclipses rotated lazily around their slotted rings.

“Your death~”

Step!

In the next instant…

He disappeared.

Commander 10’s sensors shrieked in warning.

Too late!

Young Aether had already appeared behind him.

The Twin Eclipse traced a brilliant ivory arc toward the commander’s shoulder.

SKRRRKKK!!

Instead of slicing through effortlessly…

The blade stopped.

Not completely.

But enough.

Rather than cutting through alloy like butter as it had moments ago, the Twin Eclipse bit into the shoulder plating like a blade striking ancient hardwood. Sparks exploded from the grinding contact as only a shallow groove was carved into the armour.

“…What?”

The recoil travelled straight back through the spinning weapon.

The Twin Eclipse violently kicked backwards.

Its own rotational momentum took over.

The crescent blade spun toward Young Aether’s face with terrifying speed.

His pupils contracted.

For the briefest fraction of a second…

He saw death.

The blade missed his visor by barely an inch, slicing through several loose strands of hair before whistling harmlessly past.

Cold sweat ran down his back.

If he had been standing any closer…

He would’ve decapitated himself.

This weapon…

…was fucking dangerous.

TANG!!

Before he could recover his balance, Commander 10’s massive circular saw crashed into his chest.

The impact sent a deafening metallic shockwave echoing throughout the warehouse as Young Aether was launched backward.

At the same moment…

His suit exploded with warning lights.

[C-2334 has reached its Critical Limit.]

[C-2334 Emergency Shutdown Initiated.]

Every system died.

Commander 10 didn’t give Young Aether even a heartbeat to recover.

Hydraulic pistons hissed beneath layers of reinforced armour as the mech stepped in and drove its elbow straight into Young Aether’s stomach.

BOOOM!!

The impact folded him in half.

His body bent backwards violently as the damaged mech suit cracked like brittle biscuits, fractured armour plates bursting away.

Before he could regain his balance…

Commander 10 grabbed his helmet.

Steel fingers clamped around it with crushing force.

The commander’s knee pistons compressed with a deafening hiss.

Then…

BANG!!

The reinforced knee rocketed upward like a missile.

CRACK!!

The helmet shattered.

Not dented or fractured.

Shattered!!

The visor exploded into countless shards, scattering through the air like broken glass and exposing Young Aether’s stunned expression beneath.

“Fuck!”

His pupils shrank.

Another knee was already coming.

Faster.

If that strike connected with his unprotected head…

His skull would fucking burst.

Without thinking, Young Aether jerked one Twin Eclipse upward between himself and the incoming attack.

Commander 10’s eyes narrowed.

He had already witnessed those bizarre crescent blades carve through an entire squadron as though they were made of paper.

Instinct won over confidence.

Rather than risking his own armour, he withdrew the knee strike and instead seized Young Aether.

Then… =hurled Young Aether across the warehouse.

THAAAGGG!!

His body smashed into the metallic wall with enough force to leave a massive dent before crashing onto the floor beneath it.

Young Aether groaned.

His vision blurred.

He shook his head repeatedly, trying to force the dizziness away.

Then…

Sssnnnnnn—

The crimson light strips running across his mech suit flickered one final time before disappearing completely.

Every indicator died.

After enduring countless self-inflicted impacts, overwhelming acceleration, and finally several direct attacks from a Commander-Class mech suit…

It had reached its absolute limit.

“Talk about quality control…”

Young Aether muttered dryly.

He tried to stand.

Nothing.

The servos were completely dead.

The powered frame had become nothing more than a lifeless shell wrapped around his body.

For an ordinary human, that would’ve been the end.

Once a mech suit shut down, its immense weight alone was enough to pin most pilots to the ground. Lifting even a finger became nearly impossible beneath hundreds of kilograms of inactive alloy and composite armour.

But Young Aether…

Wasn’t ordinary.

With a strained grunt, his muscles tensed beneath the dead frame.

Crck…

The powerless armour creaked as he forced one arm to move.

Every motion felt as though he were dragging nearly two hundred kilograms of solid steel attached to every inch of his body.

Slow and Heavy… Painfully exhausting.

Yet…

He moved.

Crck…

Crck…

The metallic joints groaned with each inch he forced himself forward.

Then…

His eyes suddenly widened.

Within his reflected pupils…

Two gigantic circular saws screamed toward him.

Mounted on articulated mechanical arms, they spun at terrifying speed, their crimson particle trails illuminating the dark warehouse as they descended from opposite directions in a perfectly synchronised vertical strike.

STEP!!!

BANNNGGGGGRRRRRR!!!!!
