Chapter 405: Dorian, What The Fuck?!

Chapter 405 – Dorian, What The Fuck?!
The moment Cassius asked the question, no one reacted or even acted in some strange way that could have spoiled their identities.
All of them looked at him and his siblings with cold eyes. Some of them, meanwhile, wore a more interested look, like the woman that was looking at Dorian since they entered the prison.
Concerning, Cassius felt, but he didn’t have the time to spare some thoughts about it. Widow was coming, and she was strong enough to be here at any fucking bloody moment.
So he acted immediately, because he had never needed for any of them to tell them who Menteur was, to begin with.
Lady Luck had already given him the description of the man through Ananke, and Cassius had seen him the instant he had stepped inside the Prison.
His body crackled with golden plasma, and he blurred out of the physical world, so fast that his afterimage was left behind for five full seconds.
But during those five seconds, Cassius arrived in front of one of the cages of the prison. Inside was a ridiculously young boy, 6 years at most, with black eyes wide with innocence.
When the boy saw Cassius spawned in front of him, the look of fear and apprehension was painted clearly on his face.
Cassius frowned, hesitating for a moment, wondering if it was indeed the man he was supposed to kill. He recalled the memories, and realized that the features indeed matched, but the age didn’t...
’Oh...there was no age to begin with. She never told me the age of the Blessed!’ The Last Born realized, eyes slowly widening with realization.
Was Lady Luck actually asking him to kill a boy? Without even a warning beforehand?
"Be fast, youngest!" Morgan shouted, sending something terrible around the air. It tasted of crows.
Cassius blinked his eyes and regained his sense. ’It changes nothing. Nothing at all.’ He said to himself, gritting his teeth, and used his {Legend} without hesitation.
"Of Blood and Ashes."
His state of being shifted, and his body transformed into Blood and Ashes. The temperature in the room skyrocketed, the ground on which he stood burning and transmuted into boiling magma.
The magma spread, reaching out the other cages, where the prisoners all snapped their heads toward Cassius.
Morgan and Dorian watched him with quiet surprise at this level of power, wondering what it was. But Mort knew. And his mouth was wide open at the ridiculous implication.
Cassius, as for him, was focused on his cage in front of him that was sealed with a keyhole.
Knowing the risk, but also knowing there was no other option, he took out his Master Key again, inserted it inside, and twisted open.
It clicked, and opened. Lucky, he thought briefly.
The sound of the cage opening, after an untold number of years, should have been a moment of joy and hope, but the young boy felt nothing but a crawling dread.
The Last Born realized only then how easy it would be to kill the boy.
The boy was chained by chains that stopped him from using any of his abilities. At that moment, even a random unawakened man could kill him.
And Cassius did.
Without long speeches, without gloating, without even a look of pity.
He understood what the mission asked of him, and he delivered it without question.
Cassius thus killed Menteur by first burning his brain, and then the rest of the body. He burned him so thoroughly that nothing of the boy remained but ashes.
Ashes that were absorbed by his current state of {Legend}.
This marked the first time Cassius Desdemona killed a Blessed. It was almost insultingly anticlimactic for the death of a being he had gone through so much difficulty just to reach.
The system chimed inside his mind, confirming Cassius of his successful mission. But there was no time to sigh in relief as the Prisoners erupted in frenzy, punching the bars of their cages, laughing and giggling as if enjoying the spectacle.
Some of them even willingly let themselves burn by the magma, as if they missed feeling physical pain.
Cassius didn’t even look at them.
It was time to bail out!
"Let’s g—!"
"This one." Dorian spoke, and Morgan and Cassius stopped abruptly on their steps. They snapped their heads towards him, and saw the man standing in front of a cage, and even protecting that cage from being burned.
Inside that cage was a woman. The same woman that had been looking at Dorian so intensely since the beginning.
A highly beautiful brown skinned woman with unmatched eyes — one silver, the other immaculate white — stared at Dorian with something akin to raw desire.
Cassius heard Morgan gritting her teeth,
"What the fuck are you doing? We must go now!" Morgan screamed, sensing the shadows she left behind as spies warning her that Widow was coming.
She was fucking coming!
"Help me out, pookie. Please." Dorian said to Cassius, voice wry, "I want to take this woman out of the prison."
Cassius was completely flabbergasted. He looked at his brother as if he was the most stupid person to ever exist in this world.
"You want what? You must be joking!"
"I swear, fucking brother, you better stop your nonsense!" Morgan hissed, her power erupting.
The consequences that would befall their family if they were found out would be disastrous. They didn’t need another enemy, especially the Deathless Crusaders.
"Just do it!" Dorian said, "use your Key and take her out, please! I know what I am doing!"
"Oh Queen’s breath!!!" Cassius growled in deep annoyance, before running towards his brother, his heart sinking at the approaching pressure.
’Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What the hell is he doing?’
[Cassius, fast! Fast! She is coming!]
’I know, goddamnit!’
He reached Dorian and the cage, and looked at his body with real annoyance, "Brother, the fuck you doing? If you save her, how will you get her out of here? And do you even know what she has done to be here? what she is? Her power? Fucking hell, so many things could go wrong!!"
"I will kill you." Morgan grated, also getting close. Mort had returned to the shadow, "I will fucking kill you."
"I will deal with it." Dorian said, adamant about saving this woman even when everything pointed that it was a terrible, bad decision.
Cassius was losing his damn mind. But he couldn’t say no to his brother, knowing that all of this was because of him.
He cursed and used his Master Key. This was the third time, and he prayed that it didn’t do anything wrong and stupid.
Fortunately, by some miracle, the cage opened.
The woman looked at them, then focused only on Dorian, "You...you have—!"
"Shut your damn mouth." Cassius hissed, and destroyed the chains that were binding the woman, before throwing her mercilessly towards Dorian, who caught her just in time.
"Now let’s—!"
SCREEEECCHHH—!
The sound of thousands of crows screeching boomed through the whole Deathless Prison. It was followed by the sound of the wings flapping, sound that grew louder and, thus, closer.
Widow of the Goddess was here. And her presence was spreading over the whole Deathless Prison, sealing any kind of escape like a veil.
Dorian touched the woman in haste, and used his Ultimate Skill, transforming that woman into a puddle of blood that crystallized into a necklace shaped exactly like that woman.
He tucked that necklace into one of his pockets. Then he touched both his brother and sister, and used one application of his Soulblade:
"Clone Transmutation."
Before fully disappearing, Cassius reverted to his original body. Next he created a small crimson moon with the power of {Legend} and made it hover high in the sky.
Then he used his Plasma skill, causing a wild flash of light to erupt, blinding everyone.
The siblings too took that time to get rid of the crimson daggers disguises.
Then they heard the walls shaking.
And just at that time, before Widow’s presence sealed everything, the Desdemona siblings disappeared from the Prison, as they took the places of their clones, that were outside the Deathless Prison thanks to Dorian’s Soulblade.
Their clones were now inside the prison, but they were already exploding.
And with Cassius’s crimson moon high above and Morgan’s black frost...
By the time Widow arrived inside the prison, a resounding explosion laced with black frost ripped inside it, causing the prisoners to let out horrific screams.
Yet even amidst that pain, most of them were laughing, cackling as the fire burned, and the frost froze them.
Because as they saw the wrathful presence of Widow standing at the door, the very person responsible for their lack of freedom and suffering, they became completely delighted.
They laughed even harder, and Widow of the Goddess watched the fire, her face hidden behind her veil.
At that point, everything clicked. Especially when she glimpsed two opened and empty cages amidst the burning chaos.
Whoever blew up the Church of Death, only did that as a diversion to liberate two prisoners.
"We have been manipulated." Widow said, and as her mouth opened, hundreds of crows emerged out of it, devouring the flames completely.
She looked down, and saw a piece of shredded clothes hanging on a sharp edge. She picked it up, and her voice echoed again, wrathful,
"We have been manipulated."
...
Meanwhile, outside, Cassius, Dorian and Morgan took the places of their clones with none being the wiser.
They stood there, a bit far away from others as if wanting to be among siblings, ignoring the chaos around them.
But their heads were sweating, and they were desperately trying to keep their breath slow and steady, all to not arouse suspicion.
Cassius exhaled loudly, turned to look at Dorian and Morgan with eyes still burning with silent black frost, and smiled wryly, heart still pounding from adrenaline.
"Fuck. We did it."
DING!
[You have completed your Mission: Second Blessing!]
[{The One Who Wields Good Luck} is smiling widely at you.]
