Chapter 446 – I Will Wear the Maid Dress Here and Now
"Do you want to kiss me?" Seraphim asked, her face dangerously close to Theophane’s.
Theophane’s heart skipped a beat at that question. She looked at Seraphim’s face, at the scars mapping it, and noticed how each one of them seemed to glow red at that instant.
She looked next at her blood-red eyes, cold and filled with amusement, and finally at her lips. Her throat dried like parchment, and her body quivered subtly in this woman’s grasp.
A woman before whom, ever since she had first seen her in that runic elevator, Theophane couldn’t help but feel small.
Seraphim carried herself with a presence that made it seem as though nothing in this world could ever bring her down, like a sword that had endured a thousand battles, its blade webbed with cracks from edge to edge, yet still refusing to break, no matter how many times it was struck.
Whether by pure stubbornness or by a strength far beyond anything Theophane could understand.
And now that woman wore all those scars proudly, like trophies, not even ashamed of showing her breasts, which had not been spared that fate.
Seraphim Hood was, in every way, the type of woman Theophane wished to become. Someone who didn’t give up, someone who stood strong despite all the ordeals of her life.
Maybe that was why, at that instant, held by Seraphim, she felt a weakness inside her she had never felt before.
And maybe that was also why she hated this situation so much, despite feeling that same reluctance to push her away.
"Don’t touch me," Theophane hissed, using all her mental strength not to succumb to the sinful desire burning inside her. "Have you no shame?"
"You must know by now that I have a very special relationship with the word ’shame.’"
"You are forcing yourself on me."
"If I were forcing myself on you, you wouldn’t be here, still talking, and still standing," she said. "And besides, do I even need to force you? You seem to be struggling to keep yourself away from me, girl."
Theophane pressed her lips tightly together, reminding herself that Seraphim was an enemy, and spoke. "I don’t know what you are talking about. Let go of me, Princess."
"Of course. Not that I am interested in women, anyway," Seraphim said with a lazy shrug, and those words, somehow, angered Theophane. "But before I do, I have one last thing to tell you."
The Princess’s hands rose from Theophane’s waist to her face, cupping her cheeks between her cold, deathly hands, and she said, her voice equally cold, "I don’t know what you want with Sea, but I hope it has nothing to do with Cassius."
Theophane’s heart skipped a beat.
"Do you hear me?" she pressed, her eyes glowing a crimson hue, a dreadful pressure settling upon Theophane. "Know your place, or you will regret it."
"You have no right to tell me what to do," the White Seer hissed angrily. "And I have every right in the world to go against Cassius. Every fucking right."
"And I don’t care," Seraphim replied. "Whether you have the right or not, I don’t care. What I am telling you is much simpler: you will regret it if you do anything against him. Alright?"
Theophane didn’t reply at first, only clenching her jaw, so tight it felt like it was about to snap. "I hate your fucking families. I hate all of you."
Seraphim grinned and brought her face so close to Theophane’s that their foreheads touched. "Is that so?"
"Yes," she hissed.
"Even me?"
"Even you."
"Bold of you to admit it."
"I know you’re enjoying this. You enjoy seeing me helpless before you. But be careful, Princess." Theophane’s lips twisted into a smile bordering on madness. "A wise person always leaves their enemies a way out, lest they drive them mad. And mad people are dangerous, Princess. Very dangerous."
"Dangerous indeed. That they are, girl. Alas, I am very experienced in that," Sera replied. "My family is quite the bunch."
"You will not break me, Princess."
Sera smiled. "I hope not too soon. Now, will you kiss me, or do you want me to kiss you?"
Theophane’s composure crumbled for a moment before she gathered herself. She looked at Sera’s lips and said with a cold grin, "Kiss me, then, Princess, if you dare."
And Seraphim would have done it if...
"What is happening here?"
...Sea hadn’t returned from his little thinking session.
"Oh. Nothing," Seraphim said, letting go of Theophane, whose heart was in her throat at that point. She turned to look at Sea and said, "I was just about to kiss her. Well, then?"
Seraphim smirked.
"What is your decision, dear Sea?"
’She is fucking insane,’ both Theophane and Sea thought at the same time.
...
At the same time, in a hotel room, Klaus was sitting on the floor, his back leaning against the bed.
Wearing a light white shirt, he browsed the Net, grinning wildly as he saw his beautifully handsome face all over it.
People were talking a lot about his speech, saying how surprised they were to see this side of Klaus Silicin Handoff, and how much more beautiful he was with his hair untied.
In fact, he had become so much more famous and liked that people were discussing the Beauty ranking of the kingdom.
People loved Raven Hood quite a bit, but at that point, most of them couldn’t help but admit that Klaus was the better man. So in just one night, Klaus’s position in the beauty ranking went from 3rd to 2nd.
And his fanbase reached an even higher level.
"How sweet," he whispered to himself, causing Love, who was on the bed looking at her phone, to spare him a glance. Without asking, she knew why he had said those words.
"I really don’t like the fact that you’ve become so famous," she said, looking at a post about Klaus on the Net herself at that moment.
She was more focused on the comments, and the number of women thirsting over him was... irritating, to say the least. Very much so.
She narrowed her eyes. ’I truly don’t like it.’
"Stop being jealous of my fame, woman," Klaus sneered. "It’s only normal for me to have this level of fame. Now I can say that only Cassius is ahead of me on that front."
"And you will never surpass him." Love snickered.
"I am not planning to." He shrugged. "I have surpassed the prince and Emrys. Heh. More than enough for me."
He laughed, feeling even prouder.
"But what is the point of being more famous if you are weaker than them?" Love taunted him. She turned off her phone, tossed it aside, rose onto all fours on the bed, and crawled towards Klaus.
"Weaker?" Klaus echoed, tilting his head. "I do not think the Prince is stronger than me."
"Emrys?" Love said, now just behind him, and Klaus could feel her breathing down his neck.
He barely stopped a shudder. "Not for long."
"Is that so?"
"I don’t care if you don’t believe me."
"Well, yes, I certainly don’t believe you," Love said. "We can say anything about Emrys, but in terms of strength, he is on another level. Only Cassius can match him. You know that."
"Woman, if that’s what you believe, then keep it to yourself and do not force it on me," Klaus said, irritated. "There is no one and nothing that can make me believe I won’t be able to reach Emrys’s level. If that bastard is the Storm, I will make sure I control the wind so thoroughly that no storm will rise without my permission."
He turned his head, facing Love with his black eyes. Love’s heart skipped a beat at his face so close to hers, and at his unusually serious expression.
"You... you are really serious," she whispered.
"Of course I am. Are you stupid? Do you think I am saying all this for fun?"
"I mean, you love bragging far too much."
"It’s not bragging when I am stating facts."
"Quite—!"
"Alright, thank you, now shut up. It’s time for me to watch my series," Klaus cut her off before turning back to his phone. "And if you have recovered from yesterday’s heavy drinking, you can go away. No need to thank me for paying for this room. I am rich and handsome. It’s only natural."
"You are so fucking annoying."
"I don’t care."
"And what are you even watching?" Love asked as she snuggled closer, their cheeks touching, and looked at his screen, seeing the title of the series. "’How I Met Your Mother’?" She arched an eyebrow. "How do you even know this one? I thought only women watched this."
"Naty and Kei told me to watch it so they could talk about it with me," Klaus replied simply. "I tried it, and it’s not too bad. I decided to keep watching when I’m free."
"Oh," Love whispered, and fell silent.
She had never been the type to watch movies or series. She was far too lazy to stay in one place for so long, focusing on one thing. But at that moment, for some reason, the desire suddenly came to her.
And with that desire came an idea.
Love smiled with a hint of embarrassment and said,
"I will wear the Maid Dress here and now, if you promise not to ask me for anything indecent. And I will wear it until we are done watching this series."
Klaus froze, and the wind froze with him. "...Come again?"
