Chapter 479: Twisted Seraphim
Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Twisted Seraphim
Chapter 479 – Twisted Seraphim
Seraphim was unable to stop the smile from cracking her face.
She stared at the panel for a long time, wondering just what her nephew had done for Mother System to give her something like this.
’Truly, your son is something, sister,’ she mused internally, her thoughts going back to Sefira, her twin. ’And he is your youngest son. While I am here, the same age as you, without a husband or children, or even people to call my own. I only have the Hoods, and Vorn knows how damned this family is.’
Alone.
That was what she was.
Seeing Cassius’s accomplishments at that instant, Seraphim wondered what it would feel like to have a son able to achieve so much.
Pride? Love? Or something else?
She truly couldn’t tell.
’But it’s fine.’ She closed her eyes briefly. ’Not everyone is destined to love or be loved. Not everyone is destined to have children. And that’s alright. Despite all of that, there are things only I can do.’
The Princess of Hood opened her crimson eyes again and fixed them on Theophane’s back. Then they traveled past the glass walls and settled on Sea Wealth.
’Ah,’ she grinned again. ’It’s only natural that I make proper use of what my lovely nephew gave me, right? To show my own version of the pride and love I have for him.’
Having decided, Seraphim Hood waited no longer.
She received the information about the Twin Love-Hate Potion and gladly accepted it into her space ring.
Stretching to loosen and wake her body, she stepped down from the bed, her bare feet slapping onto the carpeted floor.
Instinctively, Theophane flinched like a rabbit sensing the approach of a she-tiger.
Seraphim noticed, and only grinned wider.
She wore nothing but a long black shirt, one of Sea’s, that draped over her and barely reached her knees.
She walked slowly towards the bar counter, enjoying the sudden shift of tension in the air as she did.
Dead silence. The kind of silence that let the princess hear Theophane’s loud heartbeat.
She reached the counter and sat on the chair right beside Theophane. They were close. So close that Seraphim’s bare thigh was brushing against hers.
Theophane let out a brittle sigh, her voice taut. "What, again?"
"What do you mean?" Seraphim said. "I don’t like it when we are so far away from each other."
"Please, Princess," Theophane hissed, turning her head to face Seraphim, her white eyes annoyed yet helpless. "You have what you want now. You have made sure this horny Sea accepted your proposal. What else do you want, huh?"
"He didn’t actually accept. My proposal was for him to be my consort," the Princess replied, taking a bottle of red wine and a nearby glass.
She popped it open and began to pour it into the glass, slowly and methodically.
The sour yet oddly inviting scent of the wine caressed Theophane’s nose, and the urge to take a sip rose in her chest.
"Sea only agreed to my proposal to be with him and sleep with him whenever I wish."
"Ah." The White Witch scoffed. "Of course. But what is the difference? It all remains the same: you are stepping into an already established relationship to cause unnecessary drama."
"Well, welcome to the real world, darling." The glass of wine ready, Seraphim took a sip, still looking at Theophane over the rim of her glass. She finished and slowly set the glass down, her lips wet with wine and sinfully enticing. "And if you are not satisfied with it, why don’t you leave? No one is holding you back."
"I was here first. If someone needs to leave, it’s you."
"Then I was right when I said you are not here for love."
Theophane’s face twisted, her jaw clenched so hard that Seraphim heard her teeth creaking against each other. "Do you really think I would suffer all of this for love?"
"What do you want, then?" Seraphim asked, cocking her head, amused. "Tell me, Theophane. Just what could make you stay here while clearly wanting to be away from me? Either because you hate me and want to fuck me up in any way you can, or because you can’t resist me, or..."
Seraphim’s smile widened, and Theophane’s heart involuntarily stopped at the beauty of it.
"...both?"
"At this point," Theophane replied, clenching her fist to stop herself from shaking, "maybe it’s you who actually can’t resist me. It wouldn’t be the first time." She forced out a smile. "It’s difficult to be so beautiful that people of every gender and every kind kneel before me."
"Oh, they kneel before you, do they?"
"You doubt my words?"
"I don’t," Seraphim admitted. "But now you have given me a reason to see you kneel. So," the princess leaned her head forward, bringing her face even closer to Theophane’s, "kneel, darling."
The White Witch shivered, her eyes flying wide. She instinctively began to stand up and put some distance between them, but Seraphim was faster. Her hand snapped out like a whip, grabbing her forearm and forcing her back down with sheer strength.
Theophane grimaced in pain, looking at Seraphim. "What... what are you doing again?"
"I just said it. Kneel."
"I won’t," Theophane snapped, her eyes blazing with anger. "I won’t kneel to you, even if you use your strength on me."
Her voice was loud, and Sea, who was outside, noticed something was amiss.
But Seraphim didn’t care. She only smiled wider, as if enjoying the challenge.
With her free hand, she grabbed the glass of wine and drank it in one go. Then, slamming it down on the table loud enough to make Sea Wealth come back inside, she returned her whole attention to Theophane.
"We can do this in two ways, Theophane," the Princess of Hood whispered. "Either you accept willingly, and I will give you a bloody kiss with wine on my lips. Or you refuse, and I will break your legs and make you kneel. Either way, you are going to kneel today. That I swear on Vorn’s deathly name."
"W-Why?" Theophane asked, not understanding why this woman was going this far.
"Because I want to," Seraphim said simply. "And because I can."
Before Sea could say anything, the princess turned and looked at him. "And don’t intervene, Sea. I have been calm since the beginning. You wouldn’t want me to get even slightly angry at you for trying to stop me."
"You are making things even more difficult," Sea said, narrowing his eyes. "Just what kind of problem do you have with Theophane that I don’t know about?"
"Oh, I have nothing against her, technically speaking," Seraphim replied. "But my nephew seems to."
"Cassius?"
"Of course. Would I bother myself with any of those other shitheads? I love them, certainly, they all have my sister’s blood. But I wouldn’t go this far for them."
"Oh," Sea muttered, looking at Theophane. "Meadow likes Cassius very much. And she was with him during the mission in the Museum. A mission you influenced Meadow to choose. Oh." His eyes widened slightly. "So you wanted to use my sister to harm Cassius?"
Theophane hissed. "That’s pure nonsense."
"Nonsense or not, my patience is running thin," Seraphim said. "Will you, or will you not? You have ten seconds. Beyond that, I shall delightfully proceed with the second option."
Theophane stared at Sea and noticed that the man was only looking at her, his eyes steady.
The strangest thing was that she could see, and feel, with her Seer’s instinct, that Sea was still in love with her.
However, and that was when Theophane began to understand a chilling side of Sea, being in love with her didn’t cloud his judgment at all.
And he, too, wanted to know what she had been attempting, and what she wanted from him.
Sea Wealth wouldn’t help her.
And Theophane Celeste, once again, found herself alone, cornered by powers greater than her. Powers she couldn’t stand against with her weak Fate power and her mere beauty.
She looked at Seraphim, noticed her smile, and felt both hatred and something she didn’t want to name.
In a normal situation, Theophane would have let her legs be broken. She had known worse things in this damned life.
But there, in front of Seraphim, helpless with no one to help her, the White Witch allowed herself to be dragged along by her desires. Desires she knew could turn her to ashes, but ones she could barely stop herself from falling into after days in Seraphim’s presence.
So, without waiting any longer, she closed the distance between them and pressed her lips against Seraphim’s.
Sea simply arched an eyebrow at the scene.
Theophane, meanwhile, was in a bliss of desire. The longer she pressed her lips against Seraphim’s, the more she wanted to go beyond a kiss, to see her whole naked body and witness the scars the world had left on the Princess of Hood.
But at the same time, a feeling of self-loathing festered in her heart, so much so that she broke the kiss soon after, panting, her eyes glazed.
Her lips tasted sour, yet sweet. Her body was hot, yet shaking uncontrollably.
She looked at Seraphim and knelt down, her heart torn by emotions contradictory enough to rip her apart.
’Kill me,’ the White Witch pleaded, her eyes tearing up with loathing, anger and hatred.
The Princess saw all of this, and her thrill of domination only grew hotter and bolder. She summoned the Twin Love-Hate Potion.
She grasped Theophane’s jaw and forced it open. Then Seraphim poured the G-Type Potion into the pained girl’s mouth, and Theophane swallowed it with wide eyes, wondering what it was.
Next, the princess took the R-Type Potion. The moment she did, both she and Theophane understood the effects of the potions, and the White Witch’s eyes widened even more.
"Now, this is getting strange," Sea muttered.
Seraphim laughed and squatted down to be face to face with Theophane.
"Ah, I think we are going to get along very well," she said, drawing closer to her lips. "You are not too bad."
This time, Seraphim Hood was the one to kiss Theophane Celeste, and the woman melted into the devil’s arms, all while realizing the chilling truth that she must first come to love this devil, truly and profoundly...
...before she could ever be free of her.
Before... she could kill her.
