Leveling Up And Becoming Undefeatable

Chapter 1334: The First Sorcerer

Chapter 1334: The First Sorcerer

A ghost?!

A monster or demon?!

Luo Tian had never believed in those things.

Moreover, in this foreign world, even a ghost could be killed for loot.

When he saw the people around him retreating frantically with pale faces full of fear, Luo Tian couldn’t help but scoff, “Look at how scared you all are. Even if it’s a ghost, there’s no need to be this terrified, right?”

Luo Tian then slowly turned his head around.

The old woman was not very tall, reaching only about the same height as the crouching Luo Tian.

Moreover, the walking stick she held had a faint, yellow lantern on it.

The instant Luo Tian turned around, her face happened to lean forward.

Their faces were less than two centimeters apart.

White hair and shriveled skin so thin that her eye sockets were deeply sunken in. Combined with that faint lantern beneath her jaw, it made the old woman’s face look incredibly eerie.

Luo Tian’s expression froze.

“Gulp~!”

His adam’s apple moved slightly. He twitched, and then the corners of his mouth curled into a smile that looked worse than crying. He slowly raised his hand and gave a small wave, “Hello!”

Immediately after, Luo Tian immediately turned and practically scrambled away on all fours. Just moments ago, his heart had nearly stopped from the shock. Once he reached a safe distance, he could feel his heart pounding wildly.

He tried to keep up a brave front and said, “Old granny…”

Before he could finish speaking, the old woman took a step forward. Her clothes dragged on the floor, concealing her feet, so she moved as if she were drifting through the air. She approached the thigh bone and said in a low, raspy voice, “Could you give that bone to me?”

“Gulp~!”

Another loud swallow was heard afterward.

No matter how terrifying those ghosts from hell might be, nothing was scarier than this scene.

Combined with the old woman’s appearance and that dark, raspy voice, it was enough to take years off one’s life.

Ghosts weren’t too scary. It was being scared by a person who looked like a ghost that it became truly terrifying.

Almost everyone was paralyzed by her sudden appearance.

They all nodded in unison, stammering, “Y-y-you… you can take it.”

The old woman’s gaze fell on Luo Tian, as if she knew he was the one who had made the roast meat.

Luo Tian also nodded and said, “Old granny, that’s just a bone. If you want to eat, I can get you some more roasted meat.”

When the old woman received permission, she snatched up the bone from the ground. In less than a second, there were “crack crack” sounds. She chewed it as if it were sugarcane, swallowing the long thigh bone in just a few bites.

“Burp~!”

She let out a satisfied belch and looked like she wanted more.

The old woman gave a faint smile and said, “Thank you!”

Her smile only made things worse; it was even more unsettling for them all. The wrinkles on her face bunched together like the skin of a toad, a sight that no one would ever forget.

As her voice faded, the old woman’s figure vanished instantly as if she had never appeared.

If it weren’t for the fact that the thigh bone was gone, everyone would have truly thought they were hallucinating.

After a long silence, the group looked at one another, cold sweat soaking their backs.

“That was terrifying!”

“What the hell is she?!”

“This Pangu’s Cave is full of bizarre things! What kind of people are these Guardian Race? The Nether Blood Spring in the Forest of Death, the Beast Tamer who controls demonic beasts, and now this terrifying old woman,” Liu Zhan muttered. He was the first to have spotted her and had truly come close to pissing himself.

The Saintess furrowed her brow. After a moment of thought, she said to Luo Tian, “I’m afraid we won’t be able to pass through this corridor.”

Luo Tian and Kailin both looked at her at the same time.

Luo Tian asked, “Do you happen to know something?”

The Saintess replied, “She is likely the Witch Granny of the Guardian Race. I’ve heard she was the first person to climb Heaven’s Chosen Mountain and the first person in the Ancient World to become a sorceress. No one knows the level of her cultivation realm.”

She then added, “These are just my speculations based on her appearance. I can’t say for certain if it’s her or not. If it is, then we absolutely cannot pass. Her sorcery power makes her an unrivaled existence.”

If she truly was the same old woman the Saintess suspected her of being, one who had cultivated for a hundred thousand years or even longer, then Luo Tian and his group stood no chance of passing.

Kailin looked at Luo Tian.

Without thinking too much, Luo Tian said, “We have no path of retreat. Hei Yue definitely won’t fight a death battle against the Beast Tamer. He must be hiding somewhere waiting for us to come out so he can wipe us all out. Going back out is a dead end.”

“We might as well take a gamble!”

They had no path of retreat left.

Moreover, Luo Tian had no intention of giving up having come this far.

No matter how high the difficulty or how powerful the opposition, every quest has a possibility of completion. You just have to find the small details within the task that can change the overall situation.

Kailin also spoke up, “I agree!”

Liu Zhan was somewhat afraid, but he supported whatever Luo Tian said without a second thought. He then said, “I agree too. At worst, we die. We’re dead if we go out anyway, so we might as well take a gamble. Maybe if we get the Seven-Colored Divine Stone, we can actually kill Hei Yue.”

“What you’ve said is right!”

“Hei Yue is definitely out there waiting for us like a predator. Even if we go out and tell him we didn’t get the Seven-Colored Divine Stone, he won’t believe us and will kill us anyway. Rather than dying by his hand, we might as well take the risk and go in,” Kailun added.

Luo Tian looked toward the Saintess.

Without hesitation, the Saintess asked, “You just told the old woman that you still have some roast meat left, right?”

“Huh?”

Luo Tian then said, “Yes, I do have a bit left.”

The Saintess immediately said, “If there’s meat to eat, then let’s go.”

“What a foodie!”

“A total foodie!”

Who would have thought the Saintess of Phoenix Sky Mountain was such a big foodie? Luo Tian was caught between laughter and tears.

Now that everyone was in agreement and they had finished recovering their strength, it was time to get to work. Luo Tian stood up and said loudly, “Alright, let’s charge in.”

“A man lives but once. If we die, we die. If we don’t, we might live for ten thousand years!”

“Hahaha…”

“I like the sound of that!”

“Boss, we have little peckers, but what about them?”

“Little Fatty, do you want me to cut yours off?” Kailin asked.

Liu Zhan clenched his butt and clamped his legs together. Looking at the paladins, he saw they all wore expressions of fear. It was very clear they had suffered plenty at Kailin’s hands before.

Luo Tian led eighteen people down the dim corridor.

They walked for nearly three full hours before finally reaching the end.

They had no idea how many meters underground they were, but it felt as if they were walking straight into hell.

When they stepped off the final stair, they found themselves in a room-like area. A sinister aura rose from beneath their feet, and everyone felt a sense of heavy oppression weighing on their spirits.

In the deepest part of the room stood an old woman, and behind her was a hexagram array. That was likely the entrance to the next floor!

“Cough, cough…”

“Young man, we meet again,” the old woman spoke first.

She stepped out from the darkness bit by bit, her body trembling slightly as if a gust of wind could knock her over. She looked ancient, without a clear age.

Luo Tian cupped his hands and said politely, “Old granny, could you open the entrance and let us through?”

“I cannot!”
