Chapter 237: Initiating the sealing
Chapter 237: Initiating the sealing
The six Sovereigns acted in perfect synchronization.
Chronalis manipulated time around Jaenor, creating temporal distortions that made his movements sluggish while everything else moved normally. Aethormor locked down space, creating invisible walls that prevented teleportation or spatial displacement. Vorathys established death-energy boundaries that would sever any connections he tried to make with external power sources.
The three others, wounded females who’d been healed, established additional layers. One created gravitational anchors that increased his weight exponentially. Another manifested binding light tried to wrap around his limbs.
Jaenor felt the restrictions closing in, felt his freedom of movement being systematically eliminated. His chaos nature rebelled against the imposed order, but six Sovereigns working in coordination created pressure that even he struggled against.
"Phase one complete," Kailthrys announced.
"He’s contained. Suyajna, begin phase two."
The transformed daemon goddess descended, her fourteen arms spread wide, her four eyes all focused on Jaenor’s center mass. Dark energy flowed from her form, probing, searching for the traces of organized energy within his chaotic nature.
It took several moments of intense concentration, but she found them. Threads of Origin Aura, woven into the Chaos Origin, barely perceptible but present.
"Located," Suyajna’s seven-toned voice announced.
"Beginning attachment."
Her arms moved in complex patterns, weaving dark energy into specific shapes. Seal markers formed, small constructs of daemon power that could attach to ordered energy without being immediately dispersed by surrounding chaos.
She launched them toward Jaenor, and they struck, each one finding an Origin Aura thread and attaching like parasites.
Jaenor felt it.
Felt a foreign power invading his system, felt order being imposed where only chaos should exist. His body reacted violently, chaos surging to destroy the intrusions.
But Suyajna was prepared.
Each seal marker was reinforced by power from multiple Sins, making them resilient enough to survive long enough to serve their purpose.
"Phase three complete," Kailthrys said.
"All Sovereigns channel power through the daemon goddess.
Phase four begins now."
Golden divine energy flowed from each of the six surrounding Sovereigns toward Kailthrys, who consolidated it and directed it through Suyajna’s transformed form. The daemon goddess became a conduit, channeling Sovereign authority into the seal markers attached to Jaenor’s Origin Aura threads.
And the seal began to spread.
Slowly at first, creeping outward from the anchor points, imposing structure on chaos.
The Origin Aura threads became sealed completely, locked down, and rendered inert. And from those sealed threads, the binding extended further, reaching into the surrounding Chaos Origin.
Jaenor felt his power being locked away, section by section, piece by piece. He fought back, channeling everything he had into disrupting the seal, into maintaining his freedom.
His body began to transform, becoming pure chaos again, trying to disperse so there was nothing solid for the seal to attach to.
But Aethormor’s spatial locks prevented full dispersal. Chronalis’s time manipulation slowed his transformation. The combined pressure of six Sovereigns and a transformed daemon goddess was too much to overcome through raw power alone.
"Keep going," Kailthrys commanded.
"Don’t give him any opening. Maintain pressure until the seal is complete."
And the divine beings pressed their advantage, working together with terrible efficiency to imprison the being who’d dared to transcend their order.
The seal was spreading steadily, creeping through Jaenor’s system like frost across glass, when something fundamental shifted.
His eyes blazed with sudden fury, and the chaos within him erupted with force that made the previous battle seem like a warm-up.
"NO!"
The single word carried power that transcended normal sound. It was rejection given voice, denial made manifest, and absolute refusal to accept imprisonment.
The six Sovereigns maintaining the containment field staggered. Chronalis’s time manipulation flickered, her control wavering as temporal distortions backlashed against her. Aethormor’s spatial locks cracked audibly, invisible barriers fracturing under pressure they weren’t designed to withstand.
The gravitational anchors shattered completely.
The binding light dissolved.
The sound barrier evaporated.
For a brief moment, Jaenor was free.
He moved with speed that made his previous combat look sluggish. His arm moved back, then thrust forward, reaching toward Vorathys, forming into a blade of pure chaos energy. The strike was intended to kill, to eliminate one of his captors permanently.
Kailthrys intercepted.
The Sovereign Queen manifested between Jaenor and his target, her golden barrier catching the chaos blade. The impact created a shockwave that was visible as a sphere of compressed air exploding outward.
But the force behind the strike was tremendous.
Even blocked, even redirected, it had to go somewhere.
The deflected attack carved downward, striking the ground miles below with apocalyptic force.
The ground split.
Not cracked or fractured, split.
A cleave carved into the surface, extending for miles in a perfectly straight line. The cut was impossibly clean, impossibly deep, revealing layers of rock and magma that had never seen daylight.
The ground shook from the impact. Mountains in the distance trembled. Oceans hundreds of miles away registered the seismic disturbance.
And everyone present—Sovereign and daemon goddess alike—felt a moment of genuine fear at what that single deflected attack had accomplished.
"He’s too strong," Chronalis gasped, her time manipulation straining to reestablish control.
"Even contained, even with all of us working together, he’s breaking through!"
"Hold him!" Kailthrys commanded, her voice carrying divine authority that demanded obedience. "Don’t let him build momentum! If he breaks free completely, we’ll lose our chance!"
The Sovereigns reestablished their techniques, but the confidence from moments before was gone. They’d felt how close Jaenor had come to killing one of them. Felt how easily he could have succeeded if the Sovereign Queen hadn’t intervened with perfect timing.
But the momentary disruption had cost them.
The seal’s progress had been interrupted, some of the markers damaged or destroyed by Jaenor’s surge of power.
Suyajna, however, had maintained her position throughout the chaos.
Her fourteen arms had never stopped moving, weaving dark energy, maintaining connection to the remaining seal markers. And now, with the Sovereigns struggling to reestablish full containment, she acted.
All fourteen hands thrust forward simultaneously, and dark energy erupted from each palm. The streams converged on Jaenor’s position, not trying to harm him but to bind him, to hold him in place through sheer concentration of daemon power.
"I’ve got him!" her seven-toned voice announced.
"Reestablish the seal! Quickly, before he adapts!"
