There was someone else that was watching at that time.

It was the Divine Monkey.

The Divine Monkey at that was sitting cross legged on a cloud as he laughed watching him, his mind seems to concoct some scheme at that time.

Beside him was his black staff and he caress it remembering that old monk

At that time, Azief did not know that the Divine Monkey planned for him to enter into that world, to open up the five golden fingers so that the Monkey could fulfil his promise

The Monkey at that time....did he not know that doing such things would made him enter the cause and effect of the Child of the End?

He knows but at that time, he probably does not care

At the same time, in the Jade empire, on the Palace of Everlasting Mist, the Jade Emperor brought out a small temple out from his sleeve

That temple was the Savikrian temple

It was the legacy of Asargan

When the supreme golden barrier was erected, the Jade Emperor avert his gaze. Maybe if he tries, he could see through it but that time he had some other things to do. He could see through it at that time because he was also one of the beings that walked that path and that stairway

He senses someone reaching those steps because he himself once had walk the stairway but he never manage to walk it until the end

Vritra rarely show himself. And even though he had all kinds of thoughts back then, today, he is also watching.

And just like that day, he had many thoughts. But the kind of thoughts he had today is the kind of thoughts that made him feel fear.

Fear of the unknown. Of uncertainty of something big is afoot

All of this and more made him fearful

And he could not help but sigh. And he wanted to see it. Wanted to see through the Stairway, wanted to divine the new future

So, a being like him that is at the top of the power level in the Omniverse....choose to look

And when he look instead of seeing the future, he sees something else

It is one thing if he sees blank.

It something he expected.

It is something else if he sees some kind of future. If he sees some kind of future he would feel at ease

There is a reason why he wanted to see these two kind of things. If he sees blank, then that means the future is rearranging itself and is changing the true timeline

Then what if he sees some kind of future?

Then that means fate and destiny has already adapted and write a new future. Maybe a different new future but it shows that the fate and destiny is still controlling him in some capacity.

Even Sovereigns are not free from fate and destiny.

It is only that with Sovereign fate and destiny did not play such a crucial part in their existence and the effect of fate and destiny is weak when it is aglint Sovereign

But what Vritra sees is something else and it made his heart felt cold.

He sees someone standing over a riverbank.

He sees this someone and he could swear he had seen his face, he had seen how tall he is, he had seen everything about him. But even as this being is in front of him, he could not remember this person appearance, this person height, this person demeanour or face.

One thing is clear.

It is not a person at all but a kind of being he did not understand

It was almost like he only remember this being one moment from another and each moment that passes, he forgot the moment before.

Even when that being face is in front of him, he could not remember this being presence and face.

But then he sees the river. It is a river he had seen before.

He just never thought he would see that river again.

And he knew exactly what he is looking at. And that realization filled him with fear.

How could he meet the River Keeper?

He heard the rumours of a River Keeper eons ago.

But he himself had never known whether the rumours is true or not.

But he knows all the story about him. The one standing on the other edge of the river

The river has two banks. One of them bordered the garden and the other bordered the wilderness.

An on that area of the wilderness, there is a hut. Some said it is a house. others said it is a tent.

No one really knows and those who knows would also have all kinds of different interpretation of that place where the River Keeper resides.

Vritra, had been on that river.

But he did not see the river keeper. He believe the River Keeper exist.

Some senses him and some felt a presence all the time when they are on the river. He just never seen him.

He had been on the river of time a few times. And each time he goes there, he had never met the River keeper.

The River Keeper is like a myth to him just like how mortals treats him like a myth. He was not really sure.

But when the vision he saw shows this being near a river, the association instantly connect itself and he believes that the one he is seeing is none other than the River Keeper himself.

He is the only one in the entire existence that has this ability to evoke such feeling in Virto and the only one in the Omniverse that made Vritra forget who they are in just a glance.

And then Vritra quickly knows he is kicking a hard plate and what he did after is simply him averting his gaze away from the future and then his consciousness turns back to him

But it was too late. His eyes was exhausted.

Burned from inside out.

It took him only a few second to regenerate back a new eye but the headache did not fade that easily.

He knows that the headache would stay for quite some time

He then knew almost instinctively that he would find no headway in trying to divine the future of that child. He also has many more question now

Did the River Keeper wanted to save the Child of the End?

Or did he want to kill the Child of the End?

Because in that one moment where he divine the future of that Child, he did not see the child but he did see a vision

His vision is only a glimpse.

Almost like a flashing image.

Less than a millisecond.

But Vritra is also a deity of great magical power and he slows down his mind and he could examine that fleeting image, that fleeting glimpse of cause and effect

And then he saw someone in that glimpse, someone he very much recognize. Two beings of great power.

These two beings are beings that he knows personally and these two powerful beings that could shake the Omniverse with their power was holding back a finger from falling down to the cause and effect.

The two beings are none other than the Monkey and Odin.

Both are powerful beings on their own rights.

It seems that these two might have clashed with the river keeper.

Hence, why he is weirded out by his current experience. In that glimpse it was like the River Keeper wanted to kill that young kid.

Yet, now when he tries to divine the future of that young child, it’s the River Keeper itself is guarding that.

So, he could not look further than only a few second. It was like he was returning back to becoming mortal. Unable to see his own future and others and for a moment he could not help but feel bewildered.

What is the intention of the River Keeper?

He then look at the stairway.

He wanted to find some loophole so he could see through it but then he found out that the barrier is even more powerful than before and he is unable to see further

Thinking of what he had seen before and what he had just experienced, and even feeling that memory of meeting the River Keep is now fading away, he felt that he could no longer view things as he did before.

And the mortal he once scoffed at before, has now become more than just a tiger that could devour him, it is a tiger with wings.

Vritra could only sighed.

He himself rarely sighed and he is usually the first to fight.

But then someone who had reached this realm, he would not reach this realm just simply by being a stupid and rash person.

He could only sigh.
