Chapter 673 Mediate, My Ass!
Chapter 673 Mediate, My Ass!
After the crowd dispersed and most people had gone to work,
Pete quickly called the boss to say that there was a problem with the car and he couldn't come to pick him up today.
The father and son rushed to the property management office in a panic. Last night, the property management had been fully involved and had even installed two extra cameras specifically aimed at Luis's parking spot.
"What's wrong with you people at property management? Our car has been tampered with. How are you managing things here?"
Old Peter slammed his hand on the table in sheer fury.
Minda was hiding in the back, watching the commotion unfold. She glanced at the security monitors and quietly instructed the clerk,
"In a moment, record a video clip of this scene and send it to our boss's wife so she can thoroughly enjoy watching them lose their minds like this."
"Got it!" The clerk snickered.
The person at the front desk was Manager Yang, Minda's cousin, who was absolutely loyal to her.
Manager Yang had known exactly what was going on since early morning. He put on a warm, professional smile and asked, "Dear homeowner, please don't get upset. Could you give me your license plate number?"
"This is a temporary parking vehicle, isn't it? What seems to be the problem?"
Manager Yang asked, even though he already knew the answer perfectly well.
"What's the problem? Someone walled my car in with bricks, and now I can't get it out at all."
Pete's attitude wasn't as abrasive as his father's, but he was still furious and said, "If I lose work today because of this, who's going to compensate me for my losses?"
"Is that so? Let me go take a look."
The Peng father and son led the way, while Manager Yang quietly called a few security guards to come along. Today, only the young and strong ones were on duty.
"Wait a minute, sir. This area isn't for temporary parking. This is our community's private parking zone."
Manager Yang said deliberately, "Mr. Peng has been a homeowner here for years. He should already know that."
Old Peter didn't feel guilty at all. He snorted, "So what? To put it bluntly, it's all public land anyway. What's wrong with me parking here for a bit?"
Manager Yang smiled politely and said, "But since you don't have a parking spot here, it's not right to leave your car in someone else's space."
Pete said impatiently, "What's the big deal about parking here for a moment? Didn't I pay the temporary parking fee?"
"Then you should park over there, not take up someone else's spot here."
Manager Yang said casually, "Every single private parking spot here was bought with hard cash. If the homeowners themselves want to build walls around their spots, the property management has no right to stop them."
"Who told you to park your car wherever you felt like it?!"
"You..."
Old Peter pointed a trembling finger at Manager Yang's face and roared, "You son of a bitch, I knew you were in cahoots with that slut Ruth. You're just putting on a little show for me now, aren't you?"
"Watch your mouth!"
Manager Yang stopped pretending and sneered, "You don't have a private parking space, and you dare park your car here wherever you want. If we let scum like you run wild, how can our property management stay in business?"
"Goddammit, tear down that wall right now!!"
Pete, furious, lunged forward and grabbed Manager Yang by the collar. Before he could start cursing, the security guards, who had been watching eagerly from the sidelines, swarmed around him.
Each guard gripped a rubber baton and stared at him menacingly. Manager Yang pushed up his glasses and sneered, "You want to start trouble? You'd better let go right now."
"Let go, my ass! You're all just a bunch of servants, and you think you can actually lay a hand on me?"
Seeing his son in trouble, Old Peter tried to pull his usual dirty tricks, but Manager Yang wasn't going to put up with his nonsense.
The moment the old man made a move, several guards raised their batons and swung at him. They had already been given clear instructions and had the boss's backing, so these lackeys were anything but well-behaved right now.
"Goddammit, stop hitting him!"
Pete had served in the military, so he was fairly skilled. He immediately tried to intervene and stop the beating.
But unfortunately, even a hero is no match for a pack of wolves, especially since these security guards had come prepared.
"Stop, please stop..."
"Someone's going to get killed..."
Before long, the father and son were lying on the ground, bruised and swollen, clutching their heads and begging for mercy.
Only then did Manager Yang signal for the guards to stop. He stepped closer and sneered, "Old Peter, you paid a few bucks for temporary parking and came here to act like a big shot. Did you really think your family had some kind of throne waiting for you?"
"And by the way, you haven't paid a single cent of your property management fees for the past ten years. And you still have the nerve to come crying to us..."
With that, Manager Yang tossed a lawyer's letter onto Old Peter's body and sneered, "Get ready for a lawsuit, you shameless bastard."
"Let's go!"
The group marched off triumphantly, excited to return and claim their rewards. The boss had promised to hand out bonuses.
"Dad, are you okay?"
Pete, his face a mess of bruises and swelling, helped up his father, who looked just as bad.
Old Peter clutched his battered face, his expression twisted with rage. Trembling, he picked up his phone, dialed a number, and croaked, "Call the police. Call the police."
"I don't believe they can just get away with breaking the law like this."
"This is an outrage. An absolute outrage..."
Old Peter felt more wronged than a martyr. This was nothing short of pure bullying.
After the call, the police quickly arrived at the scene. Minda had already communicated with them in advance.
The father and son, accompanied by the police, stormed into the property management office in high dudgeon. They pointed accusingly and said, "Officers, these are the people who beat us. Arrest them immediately."
Minda had been fully prepared. The property management calmly produced the surveillance footage, which clearly showed that the father and son had thrown the first punches.
The responding officers already knew the situation. Earlier, Luis had also called Jian.
The veteran officer took one look and said, "This looks like a mutual fight. Do you want us to mediate, or shall we handle it according to the law?"
Old Peter jumped up, pointed at his own face, and shouted, "Mediate, my ass! Can't you see what they did to us?"
