Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 741 Compliment Or Insult?

Chapter 741 Compliment Or Insult?

"I'll go check on the bedsheets!!"

Eloise was actually very happy inside; no matter what others thought, this was the strength of her own family.

In the small, simple room on the first floor, which only had basic bedding, Luis put down the items one after another. Then, while helping her tidy up, he panted heavily and said:

"Little Aunt, you should get some good rest first."

"Don't worry about work. I'll find something for you soon."

"But it won't be super fast since summer break is coming up… I'll do my best, so don't worry."

Watching Luis busying himself back and forth, arranging the humble room with such dedication, Serena quietly took his hand and said, "Luis, you've really troubled yourself too much during this time. Forget about work for now; sometime soon, let me treat you to a meal."

Looking at this gentle, serene young widow, Luis couldn't help but feel lustful thoughts arise. He flashed a wicked smile and asked, "Just the two of us?"

As he spoke, he held her hand and lightly scraped his fingers across her palm.

Serena shivered slightly. She glanced at Luis with a somewhat complicated expression, her cheeks flushing, but she didn't pull her hand back. She murmured softly, "Whatever you say…"

The bruises and sprains all over her body had mostly healed, but the hairline fracture on her forearm still needed time. Wearing a cast and bandages made things a bit inconvenient.

"Brother-in-law…"

At noon, when Ariana came home from school, she let out a cheerful cry. The pure yet suggestive young cousin in her school uniform happily threw herself into Luis's arms.

"You little rascal, screaming like that… you trying to scare someone to death?"

Eloise said this dotingly, while Serena beside her smiled gently.

In their eyes, Ariana was still just a child. Showing affection toward her brother-in-law was a good thing; even though they were cousins, it was nice that they got along so well.

If Eloise ever found out about the beastly things Luis had done, she would probably grab a kitchen knife and chop him to pieces right then and there.

"Oh, by the way, Luis, the air conditioner in Ariana's room keeps dripping water… what's wrong with it?"

"I'll go take a look…"

Luis had become the all-around handyman. He stepped into his young cousin's fragrant boudoir. The room was actually quite spacious, with terrazzo flooring, but the furniture and decorations were all too old-fashioned.

They said the cabinets and other pieces dated back to her grandfather's time. They weren't made of precious solid wood, either; some parts were already falling apart.

For Luis, who used to work as an auto mechanic, opening up the air conditioner made the problem obvious right away. "The drain pan is cracked, and the mainboard has a short circuit, too. It's dangerous."

"Ah… then what do we do?!"

"Just get a new one, what else. Your room's unit is also really old. Let me take a look."

With that, Luis walked into the master bedroom. The room was just as old, and the air conditioner was even more ancient. When it turned on, it sounded just like a tractor.

"Don't worry about that one… I usually just crash on the floor in Ariana's room. This crappy bed smells, anyway."

As Eloise said this, she couldn't help blushing while looking at Luis.

Luis chuckled softly and said, "That won't do. Electrical faults can easily burn out the wiring. Plus, Little Aunt, your room doesn't even have an air conditioner. How are you supposed to survive the summer heat?"

"I can just use a fan."

Serena quickly spoke up. She was being taken in by her brother and sister-in-law; the last thing she wanted was to cause more trouble.

Luis directly declared, "Alright, don't worry about this anymore. I'll talk to Uncle."

Back in the living room, Luis made a phone call, but what he actually said was:

"Uncle, my friend sells air conditioners. He needs old units for his trade-in quota. I noticed your air conditioners are all pretty ancient, so you've got to help out with this."

"Right, right… don't worry, it won't cost anything."

"Besides, when I renovated my new place, I earned some points and coupons. If I don't use them, they'll expire. We can also buy some other things with them."

"So that's how it is, okay, okay… then I'll stay here for dinner tonight."

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."

After hanging up, he saw the mother and daughter plus Serena staring at him in bewilderment. Luis laughed and asked, "What? Is there a flower on my face?"

"Brother-in-law, you're amazing. My dad is totally wrapped around your finger."

Ariana gave him an adorable thumbs-up.

Eloise's personality was just reserved and introverted. She was a traditional woman, really the type who would make a good wife.

The truly insufferable one in the family was Logan: sloppy, stingy, and preachy…

He didn't understand anything yet wanted to control everything. He insisted on being the head of the household but couldn't manage anything properly… a complete loser.

Replacing the air conditioner… in his eyes, that was a huge deal. How could it be done without his approval?

But making him spend the money seemed like it would kill him.

Eloise, his wife, was willing to pay for it herself but didn't want to bring it up with him. If she didn't say anything, they would argue later. It was very awkward.

Yet with just a few words, Luis managed to coax him into eagerly agreeing.

"You really know how to sweet-talk people."

Eloise chimed in as well.

"Should I take that as a compliment or an insult?"

Luis said, half laughing and half crying, as he looked at the busty, alluring mother. He thought to himself, Cute little Ariana, not only has your dad been completely handled, but your mom's boobs still have my finger marks on them.

"Sister-in-law, the way you badmouth my brother is both cutting and pretty clever."

Serena couldn't help giggling along.

The atmosphere in the house was warm and harmonious, as if Luis were the real head of the family. Without Logan around, everything was peaceful.

After busying themselves all afternoon, the store staff came over and installed the new air conditioners. Not only did all three rooms get new units, but a two-horsepower floor-standing AC was also placed in the dining and living areas downstairs.

By early evening, Logan came home from work. As soon as the door opened, a wave of cool air hit him.

"What's this now? Think this will use a lot of electricity?!"

Just like his personality, his first words were a buzzkill. Luis quickly said, "Uncle, new air conditioners are way more energy-efficient than before…"

"Also, we replaced the drainage pipes and old wiring, so your electricity bill will actually be lower."

Upon hearing that, Logan immediately smiled and said, "Oh, I see. I knew Luis had skills. I can never figure these things out."

It was rare to see him back down like that… it was obvious just how tightly Luis had him wrapped around his finger.

After a long day, when Eloise was about to go buy groceries, Luis stopped her. Instead, he ordered food from the little riverside restaurant at the end of the village, the one Logan was always praising as authentic.

Logan kept complimenting Luis's taste and immediately dragged him along to pick the dishes.

"Beggar's chicken, braised river eel, spicy stir-fried young beef, stir-fried wild river snails with dried radish…"

"Crispy fried small river fish, make it salt-and-pepper flavor, absolutely perfect with alcohol…"

"These wild spring shoots, I bet Luis has never tried them. Stir-fry some with bean paste and garlic…"

"Quick-fried river shrimp with wild leek shoots, and a braised tofu with brown sauce…"

This time, Logan was surprisingly generous. He ordered all the signature dishes and even rushed to pay the bill first.
