Chapter 6479: Filled With Gu
Despite Wen Xue’s formidable compass, she soon met a bottleneck. What stood before them was no longer a fork in the road but a spirit formation gate.
The spirit formation gate was covered in runes that appeared to be hints.
Sensing something amiss, Wen Xue stowed away her compass and called for Chu Feng, “Junior Chu Feng, you should come out and take a look.”
“Senior, you’ll have to lower your clothes a little.”
While Wen Xue had left the entrance to her body’s formation realm open, it was located under her clothes. Chu Feng could see past her clothes, but he couldn't travel through them when leaving her formation realm.
Wen Xue knew what Chu Feng was worried about, but she didn’t do as she was told. Instead, she remarked with a grin, “What are you afraid of? Getting stuck in my clothes?”
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” Chu Feng replied.
“I’ll tell Zi Ling if you dare take advantage of me.”
“That only makes me more scared.”
“Heh, I’m teasing you! Do I look like such a person? Feel free to dive right into my robes. I promise I won’t tell on you to Zi Ling.” Wen Xue laughed mischievously.
“Senior, stop messing around. We should get to business,” Chu Feng replied.
“Tsk, what a boring person you are. Forget it! You can come out now.”
Wen Xue tugged her robe downward.
Only then did Chu Feng dare to slip out of Wen Xue’s formation realm.
Wen Xue quickly tidied up her robe. There was no need for Chu Feng to hide inside her anymore now that they were inside the remnant.
“Senior, the formation realm inside your body is useful, but isn’t its entrance awfully inconvenient?” Chu Feng asked.
“What’s inconvenient about it? Why are you acting demure when I’m not even embarrassed? You’re the one taking advantage of me here,” Wen Xue scoffed.
“I’m no gentleman. I might lose control of myself at this rate.”
“Oh no! My talented junior, who is destined for greatness, wants to take advantage of me? I have no choice but to submit,” Wen Xue said flirtatiously. Her seductive demeanor contrasted with her youthful features, but that only made her more alluring.
As expected of an old demon who had been around for a long time. Playing innocent might be tough for her, but she can flirt with ease.
“I apologize. I shouldn’t have cracked such a joke with you.” Chu Feng had wanted to tease Wen Xue, since the latter had also been teasing him, but it would appear that he had messed with the wrong person.
“Who’s joking with you? I’m being serious here. Junior Chu Feng, won’t you consider me?”
Wen Xue stepped up to Chu Feng, allowing her chest to press against Chu Feng’s. It looked almost as if they were going to kiss the next second.
Chu Feng couldn’t tell if she was joking or being serious.
“Look at how arrogant she is! Chu Feng, screw her!” Eggy exclaimed.
She was the type to pour fuel on fire, but Chu Feng dared not push any further. He hurriedly took a step back to distance himself from her before turning his gaze to the spirit formation gate.
“Let’s focus on the main task at hand.”
Chu Feng activated his Heaven’s Eyes and soon deciphered some details. “Beyond this spirit formation gate is a formation. If we fail to breach the formation, we’ll lose our qualification to venture deeper into the remnant. Simply said, our journey will end here.”
“Got it.”
Wen Xue grabbed Chu Feng and dragged him into the spirit formation gate before he could utter a word.
They were transported into a space shrouded in fog. At the same time, the spirit formation gate vanished.
Chu Feng turned to Wen Xue and remarked helplessly, “Senior, shouldn’t you at least ask for my opinion before dragging me in here?”
“Junior, aren’t you here for the legacy? You only have two options—succeed or fail. If you can’t decipher this formation, we won’t be able to venture deeper into the remnant. If so, we can turn around and leave right away; there’s no point wasting time here. There’s no point in hesitating,” Wen Xue replied.
“I’m not hesitating. I was still studying the spirit formation gate to see if there were further clues regarding the deciphering of the formation,” Chu Feng replied with a sigh.
Wen Xue widened her eyes. “Why didn’t you say so earlier!”
“You didn’t give me a chance to speak up.”
“What do we do now? The spirit formation gate has vanished. I don’t think we can turn back, right?” Wen Xue lowered her head in shame, knowing she had acted hastily.
“It’s fine. We’re already in here anyway.”
Chu Feng remained calm. He lamented not being able to uncover more clues beforehand, but that didn’t mean he was helpless before the formation.
Clang!
Clang!
...
Metallic clangs echoed, and the fog dissipated, revealing their surroundings.
They were in a metal palace made out of countless parts. The walls were installed with convoluted mechanisms that seemed to contain a secret. Chu Feng and Wen Xue scanned their surroundings before looking forward, where a gigantic metal door stood.
The door was so huge that it covered half the wall, but it was covered in bugs.
The bugs were around the size of a fingernail, but there were countless of them scuttling around. Unnerving, colorful bumps grew out of their bodies.
“Ugh, disgusting! Look at my goosebumps!” Wen Xue cried out before hiding behind Chu Feng. There were still things that frightened her despite her old age, though she looked adorable.
“Senior, is this what you’re looking for? I’ll catch them for you,” Chu Feng pointed at the bugs as he asked.
“Of course not! Those are clearly gu bugs!” Wen Xue frowned.
Chu Feng revealed a mischievous smile. There was no way he couldn’t recognize those bugs when Wen Xue could do so.
Wen Xue noticed his smile and gritted her teeth. “You bastard. You knew I’m afraid of those bugs, but you intentionally asked that question to scare me!”
She angrily pinched Chu Feng’s arm without holding back at all. Chu Feng winced in pain.
“Stop stop stop, senior. I was wrong.”
“Hmph.” Wen Xue turned her gaze back to the gu bugs. “Looks like we’ll have to overcome those gus to advance, but why are there so many of them? Junior Chu Feng, have you found a way to decipher the formation yet?”
She eyed the metallic mechanisms, deducing that the solution lay in there.
Chu Feng replied, “Don’t bother studying those mechanisms. They don’t work.”
