Chapter 2870: 2870. Letting Loose A Little

'Gulper cat fish

This is a massive monster able to gulp even dragons in to its stomach. It literally swallows entire lakes of water in seconds while using it to condense and fuel a core of pure water mana within its heart. Its massive size allows it to gather the insanely potent water mana it needs to live.

While it will never leave the depths of the water elemental planes unless forced, when it does it will alter the water elemental planes entirely. Its smooth skin is tough and able to push it through the water faster. Its sharp spiked fins are its most brutal defense since it carries a small amount of potent water mana it uses as a poison to harm other beings.

It is considered a calamity if it is aggravated and often left to slumber in the depths of the water elemental planes for years on end before it must consume more water mana.

This gulper catfish is controlled by the will of water itself within the water elemental plane. It is tasked with fighting invading unbalanced forces that seek to take up territory and eradicate species…'

Walker didn't give the monstrous creature another look. The king of water was its owner so he left it be. Whatever it was doing while swallowing insane amounts of water had to be good for whatever was happening. The cracking and moving of water currents because if it were being handled by the pieces of the true water sage in golem form that Walker could see.

This left him to view the numerous areas of water he could see moving in chaos. Whether it would look the same as if there was a bubbling air current or not he didn't know. But he could see forms and figures of bubbles being mixed and broken as darker shapes shot through the water around them.

'Murderous spear shark

This is a species of ancient monster trapped within a small water elemental plane for generations. It has become a murderous creature that only wishes to kill and take up territory. It will hunt whatever is nearby it until it devastates its territory. It demands all the water mana within its territory and will not allow anything to even approach its territory.

It will often work with others of its kind to completely eradicate entire species like a plague. Their obsession with control and territory is intense.

They will use their own spear like bodies as weapons to pierce in to prey then consume them whether they are able to be consumed as food or not. This is also their method of breeding, they will perish and the eggs within their bodies will use them as fuel to grow and become terrors even greater. Destroying their bodies is required to promptly get rid of them.

They have valuable materials in their bodies such as their bones which can be used to make unique weapons related to piercing…'

This was the monster attacking the bubble race. A species of ancient monster left to rot inside a small elemental plane before it was properly added in to the water elemental plane here and now. Its threat level would only increase as it was left to expand its territory or if it was even killed.

His eyes shifted brefily looking at the changing shapes. The differing sizes and merging forms of bubbles.

'Bubble race

This is an intelligent species that forms a weak core and surrounds it with layers of unique water mana appearing to be bubbles. They are actually entirely made of water and are a close cousin of the water elemental spirits. They could even be called family to the spirit race within the world.

They can combine and share their thoughts with one another causing them to be one of the fastest communicating rates known to exist. They also share their emotions openly with others of their race making them a species easily called unified as one mental being at times.

While they are weak, they are able to utilize various forms of water magic related to the balance and flow of water elemental mana. This is why they are an important trace to the greater water elemental plane. Without them, severe damage could occur to the water elemental plane as a whole.

Due to their peaceful nature, they do not have much to protect themselves with. Therefore, they will often sacrifice themselves and combine in to a tougher and larger form if at risk. This is why their race has survived for hundreds of years where others have gone extinct. They are even capable of surviving being swallowed by dragons if they are melded together well enough…'

They were unique. Amazingly so.

Their traits allowed them to survive over all else. Their traits were also deeply connected to the safety and flow of water mana itself within the water elemental plane. They were part of why it all flowed safely and the will of the water elemental plane, the king of water, had to act to protect them. They were part of everything.

With the knowledge in his mind, Walker started to move. He saw the spear sharks and knew that their darker skin was because they had been tearing off their own scales while striking at prey. They were able to throw themselves like berserkers at their prey all to gain more food. More mana. More control.

They would never be intelligent enough to handle being a race because they had been isolated and forced to fight and survive for years and years. While other species of monsters gained intelligence or balance, they had consumed and eaten. They were a plague that had to be eliminated.

Part of Walker wondered if this was intentional.

Did the origin race member who melded this water elemental alone here know that they would stir up this chaotic situation?

If this was intentional, then what is done to cause growth?

Or was it done to bring Walker here to grow more himself?

Whatever the case, Walker's body crackled a bit as he used the mana within himself. The opposing forces of manas that shouldn't be within the water elemental plane caused the spear sharks to look at him. They felt the mana and the threat.

So they attacked.

The bubble race members were avoided because they were not stronger. They were not valuable as prey compared to Walker. All that mana and strength they could eat. They could kill. They could own!

When the first neared him, Walker reached out and the eternal codex formed in to a shield caused the first spear shark to shatter its body against him. He then used the mana around him to repel water and create flames in an isolated space bubble. Something he had tried and now succeeded in using because he felt it was simple.

It was something he could naturally do. That resonated with him and so he did it. It was something that he could use his space mana with to protect the water elemental alone while also helping himself now.

The rush of seven others coming from his side made Walker turn, the eternal codex taking a lightning flickering sword form as he slashed them in to several pieces. Walker wasn't just fighting he was letting his instincts act and his skills apply themselves naturally.

He was acting out of protection which resonated with his training and his titles. It felt like he was properly making moves for the first time in a while.

More space mana moved around him as he captured their bodies, using the fire mana again to reduce them in to ash while grabbing that mana back afterwards. It left the water to become gray and black with that same ash, a sign of destruction.

When he moved again, thirty more of the spear head sharks shot through the water to attack him, but every movement Walker used was killing multiple. He was releasing the strength he kept tied together for safety. He didn't have to hold back as much as long as he let himself be careful here.

When he looked out, he saw what he felt was a core to the water mana. No, the water elemental plane that had been added. He felt that it was struggling to adapt and without another force, the water elemental rune formed within that plane would not properly adapt and join with the greater water elemental plane.

"True water sage, handle the rune there and balance the manas. I am going to get rid of this failed monster species." His words were potent. Almost primordial even. But the true water sage heard this and the various golem bodies dissipated as their proper form appeared next to the rune.

Still, Walker faced at least sixty more of the spear head sharks. But he didn't frown, he grinned. He knew he was protecting those who could not act for themselves. It was why he stood here and why he stood at all in the first place.
