Chapter 3036. Remey on Board

Chapter 3036: 3036. Remey on Board

"Hm?" Remey looked up and saw Walker’s golem body had come back, this time with Gil. "What do you both need? I thought you would be busy. I was busy."

They both looked at the platter with six different teas on it. Clearly, her version of busy right now was testing out new tea blends she had made from herbs and deciding which was her favorite at the moment.

"Busy? Well, then don’t let us get too in the way by asking you for a potion that will make it harder to use mana actively?" Now this was something that Remey was interested in.

Not really as much as making some new tea blends to share with everyone, but enough that she could put this on hold.

"Why do you need that? Will it help you train some magic skills?" She was thinking about the ways that Walker and Gil would work together to make magic arrows. In her mind, this might be a challenge to them to improve that skill set.

"No, we are trying to figure out the origins of each archery style and why they can naturally gather manas in the forms. I can do it but I am pretty strong already. So I am not really using the technique, I am using my skills. I need the passive flow of mana for each form I try and use."

The matter of fact way that Gil said this without joking or trying to mess around at all was something that caught Remey’s attention even more. Especially since she was so used to his nonchalant attitude. He would more likely run from work than to try and find more.

But making work harder? Now this was a new one.

"I can do that since there are mana weakening potions. They aren’t popular unless it’s with the guards. The formulas to make them are just about banned. Adventurers aren’t allowed to use them since they can harm the environment. But, I know them so I can make them. But I can make one that affects just you. But you know that sets a bad precedent, right?"

Both Walker and Gil knew what Remey was getting at.

If people saw that potions that stifled, halted, or weakened someone’s flow of mana became widely used other than by authority figures like the guards, things could get a bit risky.

People could say that the hero party was abusing potions that put others at risk. And if adventurers started to use them openly or often, then the accusations would just get worse.

"That’s why we want you to also come and be there to watch as a master of the alchemy guild. This way regulations are important and shown if anyone decides to look in to things and ensure we were not abusing anything. You should bring one of the guards working for the guild as well, it would help."

"Just as long as you know. Whatever you’re working on, you might have someone who speaks out about it." This left Gil smirking.

"Remey, it’s better that people know." Now she was even more curious herself. She didn’t know all the details but had a feeling that there as a bit more Walker and Gil might have considered here.

Speaking up, Walker began to explain more. "Gil is trying to get closer to the origin of the elves which could be the key to moving further ahead in his class. That’s a missing piece he needs as a foundation so he can build up more. Most likely the reason he had such an issue when he tried to pull at manas to make entirely magic arrows with power."

"This is part of what made the elves survive as a race. They used physical tools and their magical nature based focuses together to survive and thrive. Other races also did the same in other ways."

"The problem is that people looking back and filling holes in their ancient past are missing key points. They are progressing but people aren’t looking at the key reasons their race became intelligent and survived over other species of monsters or other smaller races in their infancy."

The light in Remey’s eyes showed clearly. She perfectly understood what Walker and Gil were getting at.

Everyone in Genesis was working on the development of their races and their own selves. But the foundations of their race as a whole, the very key reasons of how their race came to be needed to play a part.

She could tell that they were trying to direct people toward the answers they were seeking.

"You two are trying to make them realize that they are missing the very first pieces of the puzzle. I get it. Dragons could also benefit. Humans could too. Everyone is trying to do the hardest most advanced potion formulas without learning to make the weakest most basic first potion. They can’t learn that way." She’d made it make sense to her and that was the key.

"Exactly! Everyone is just forgetting that part of rediscovering the past is understanding why we became what we are. If we don’t focus on it we get stuck and misunderstand the actual progression of classes or skills based in race and history. Everyone could be missing pieces that should affect their classes. What if they are missing things that could open up new classes or skills too?"

The more that Gil spoke about it, the more that Remey saw his excitement. It proved he was being more proactive about the people lately. Not to mention taking his role in making his people he’d taken as a focus in life as the first in line for his study.

He wasn’t just trying to improve the elves, though. He’d had Walker help him create a bigger overarching approach that could help everyone. It was even clearer that he wanted to use this chance to improve Genesis too. Not simply help one elf or one person trying to progress their class.

"Then we should get to work." Without a hesitation, Remey reached for a set of very small vials. "I just happened to have these for emergencies." Neither Walker nor Gil felt confident knowing Remey had mana slowing and mana interrupting potions on her various gear belts.

They were sure that Remey had more potion holders every single time they saw her. But she would wave them off if they tried to mention it. Then again, this was the life of an alchemical brawler.

Remey was expanding her abilities as an alchemical brawler. They just didn’t see that happening. But they should have noticed it in the ways that the potions she carried were in more and more variety.

They could radically improve her fighting abilities. Not just by improving her resistances or healing during a fight. She had massive resistances like the rest of the party. This allowed her to utilize poisons when throwing potions that would be more dangerous to the user and their group if they were adventurers.

Using it herself though? It would be nothing in damage to herself or them. Instead it would just be part of battle increasing her fighting capabilities because the enemy would be weakened.

"I want to head out now. I will tell Ignus to come or send someone to get him. He might be interested in this since he is trying to encourage a few stubborn elder dragons to learn something."

Remey started to rant but it was making sense. Terron had the same issues with his elder earth dragons.

They had been stubborn to the changes because some of them lived more isolated lives. They didn’t wish to change the ways they lived because they felt as if they were giving up power to become weaker in the eyes of other races.

Becoming subservient.

"This could make them look at their race and focus on what they could do to help their next generation understand their origins. Not forgetting who they are and became and how they can uphold that. Should be easier than getting them to adapt."

A long sigh later and the three started moving toward a smaller training field. Remey easily called over a few guards who could leave with them that worked with the alchemy guild. She sent two off to get Ignus and let others know as well.

Besides this, Gil also pulled a few of the patrolling woven guards to have a few of the teachers within the archery programs of the elves to come as well.

Seeing this was a chance for them to understand archery better. Furthermore, teaching others better. Seeing the start of this might even inspire them in their own paths. They might even have input to better help Gil develop this overall.

"This training area is out of the way but a few people noticed." Walker pointed at a small group of adventurers that caught sight of them. Nothing unusual but very lucky for them since the group had two archers present.
